Shaw, Thank You for your patience and cliff notes explanations of the rule of law that myself and others know precious little about.

I'll have to admit that, like many others here at DSP that, what would seem to be fair justice for this heinous crime is far from what might be exerted by the State of Ohio once uber liberal law benders get involved.

In my every day common man way of thinking 'recklessness' was something that happened when a couple of teens got carried away having fun and crushed someones car with a snowball or crashing a car at excessive speed on a damp road. Should have known you were having too much fun and someone was going to get hurt. Likewise 'negligence' was more akin to getting distracted and not guarding the water that was on the stovetop boiling when the rambunctious 3 year old came through the kitchen at a high rate of speed and touched the handle.

Recklessness has nothing to do with an adult raping and killing an infant.

Negligence has nothing to do with an adult raping and killing an infant.

Was there a reason why you taught us the legal definition of those two terms? I don't see either as applicable to this case.

And before you are kind enough to reply and teach us the meaning of 'mental insanity' I'll broach that wall and offer that OF COURSE this fuckwad KNEW full well what he was doing, and KNEW full well that he was causing mortal damage and OF COURSE he was mentally insane because what sort of sane human rapes and kills infants?!?! Really.

He purposely and knowingly raped the infant with such force that the infant died. What else needs stated? Why?

Perhaps your exalted legal view offers a perspective on why he deserves to draw breath and be fed 3 square and balanced taxpayer provided meals a day for the remainder of his natural life???

I'm not asking for that, however, please bear in mind that many of your arguments appear to be trying to bend the rules of law to fit your own idiosyncratic conception that no criminal should die at the hands of the state.

Possession of that exact uber liberal idiosyncratic viewpoint has been used by many law benders to justify their specious legal arguments defending fuckwads similar to this one.

As if it matters a single iota what this assholes intent was while raping the infant. WTF?? Who fucking cares what he was thinking? He was raping and killing an infant!! The only persons who would even ASK about his intent are those trying to bend laws to set him free. One would be well served questioning the ethics behind whichever law bender defends this idiot.

Some people should die sooner than others. Life is NOT fair. An adult who rapes and kills babies does not deserve to be fed from my sweat. He deserves to die by State authorized death penalty. He knew what he was doing and he pulled his own ticket. Punch the ticket and move on. NEXT!!

At the very least he should be put into general prison population and give the guards the weekend off.

Shaw, Thank you once again for attempting to defend the concepts behind whatever legal protections this fuckwad is allowed and please do not take the tone of my reply as anything except my gross repulsion at the entire story. I don't expect that you personally would defend him but I remain open minded to your reply.

So let me get this straight...

If a nuke lands square in Manhattan it still might not clean all the shit out of Jersey??

    BDK,
Two points... 1) Global warming is real. It can and has been scientifically measured. So what? 90%+ of what causes the current increase rate of global warming is due to the planet now having over 7 billion occupants. OK maybe more than 10% is due to practices of uber bad guys Exxon/Mobil/Shell/BP. But mostly it's because there are so many of us consuming and polluting.
...and 2) according to the nuke video posted here the after effects of a Pakistan India nuke war to include "a global temperature drop"..

    soooo...

    3) the North Koreans are just assisting us in finding another straw reason to inflate our military budget. Kim Jong Fool sees that Americans are getting tired of losing ground and lives to the Afghani jihadi's and would like to restore some liveliness to Korean military bases. Note how I said Korean. North Korea will cease to exist.

So we nuke some loudmouth, eliminate some starving mouths, save food stores, drop the global temp a few degrees and get to replenish some munitions. DC should be so thrilled...

consider the fact that the infant likely died from internal bleeding as its internal organs burst from being penetrated by an adult organ
hard to imagine the depths of this mans sick mind. this aroused him???
worst part is this is hardly the first time its happenen. just that latest. i remember a story of a guy giving aids to an infant.
society needs to come to terms w mental defective behavior and eliminate those who have proven they are not worthy of living amongst us.
    no correcting this.

    1) Global warming is real, very real. However, the notion that it is cause by Humans is the most ludicrous.

You know what, if you want to stop listening to all the pseudoscience you have been fed and now believe just watch this.

All Human caused global warming believers please answer me this 1 simple question.

What temperature should the Earth be?

    The Earth is not static.

I'd be content with it being 78 degrees year round. Except for the days I go to the beach, then it should be ~85.
And the winter could be 63 but never lower than 60.

Forgive me for not sitting through the 1:13:33 long video... though I'm not sure that we're disagreeing about anything yet .

OF COURSE NEARLY ALL GLOBAL WARMING IS HUMAN CAUSED.

How can it not be? Except for a stray volcano once a decade or so all of the 'other' heat caused is at the hands of humans. And that number of hands keeps on growing.

Less than 200 years ago there used to be less than 1 billion humans total... now there are over 7 billion and even with the most populated nation putting strict controls in place this total population number is escalating out of control.

Humans are omnivores. We consume everything. It's to be expected that we also create vast amounts of waste. Of course we do. Including heat waste. Yeah... and... so?

I hear the bleeding heart types whining that we should all drive electric cars but they fail to observe where all of that electricity is going to come from.

    Coal fired electricity plants? Hardly.
Solar farms? Not likely but maybe some day.

I'm a big fan of the planet but I fully agree that the planet could easily cycle within it's own range regardless of human input. But with 7 fucking billion humans making input it's short sighted to suggest that humans do not play a large part in global warming.

Does that mean that mean that we need to adopt every tree hugger solution just because it 'might' slow down the CO2 rate? Or the particulate rate? Of course not.

Or will the adoption of ANY restraint equal a voluntary removal of our global competitiveness? From a global village perspective I wager that a whole lot of other countries could't give a shit. They might sign some multi nation agreement but they're only giving it lip service until or unless the USA does something by example first.

At the same time if someone created a hybrid pickup truck that got 30MPG and could still carry my motorcycles and other Mtn goods then I'd be interested. In the meantime I'm chugging along with my beastly V10 F250. at 7MPG and I couldn't care less.

I'm not so interested in solar roof panels but my neighbor (with a pool) saves over $120 per month. Now if they had solar shingles that didn't look like a damn eyesore like the solar panels did then maybe I'd have an interest.

    CO2 CO2 CO2 CO2 CO2 CO2 CO2 CO2 CO2 CO2 CO2 CO2 CO2 CO2 CO2 CO2 CO2 CO2 CO2 CO2 CO2 CO2 CO2 CO2 CO2 CO2 CO2 CO2

Do you know that there is actually an extreme lag in the rise of CO2 levels compared to the rise in temperature? Probably not. CO2 levels are a product of the rise in temperature not the other way around.

Al Gore's (Global Warming Activist/Science Denier) data from his experiment actually showed a lag of about 800 years of CO2 levels compared to the temperature. Meaning that CO2 rose or fell as a result of the temperature level. But that is not what Al Gore shows that his data shows that when he preaches this CO2 bullshit because he tampered with the science. If CO2 reacts to the temperature level then how can it come first in human caused global warming?

Did you actually know the Earth is actually in a mini ice age right now? Humans are ruining the environment and it is uncontrollably hot with the temps just rising and rising and rising. Yet we are in a mini ice age.

It's funny cause global warming is based off of a bunch of tampered with science? Why would someone like Michael Mann do this, to make money.

Ok, here's a question for ya (serious question). Before the industrial revolution which created the scary CO2, why did the Earth's temperature always change? You know the Ice Ages and Warm periods?

Fun Fact: The ocean is the biggest source for produced CO2. How? Because of water vapor. How is more water vapor produced, easy by hotter temperatures. Once again, higher temps cause higher CO2 levels at about an 800 year lag.

The reason why CO2 levels are on such a delay is because the ocean is fucking enormous and it is hard as shit to change its temperature. Take a big pot of water and try to boil it. After a couple mins if you touch the pot you will get burned but if you stick your hand in the water it would have barely changed at all.

Not it isn't. Comets, massive volcano's and other natural superevents have raised, lowered, caused mass extinctions since the moment life first formed on this planet over billions of years.

Unfortunately it's the same principle. Debris, volcanic ash all go into the atmosphere. Sunlight either can't get in to warm the Earth, or sunlight gets in can can't escape causing a hothouse situation. like Venus Simply, matter just doesn't disappear, it's impossible. Every billionth ton of shit industrialized humans pump into the atmosphere will have an impact. It doesn't float to magical fairy land where elves turn it into presents. This filthy pollutant which is increasing in volume daily has to go somewhere, sadly.

When you talk of pseudoscience, I'd prefer to believe the 90% of renowned scientists who say humans are contributing to global warming, it's very real. Not the minority who practice what I would call pseudoscience.

    BDK,

I welcome the discourse because there is bullshit science on many fronts. And CO2 isn't it.

I dispute the 'mini ice age' perspective simply because there are zero growing glaciers on the planet and all known glaciers are shrinking. Shrinking rapidly. That doesn't mean they can't or won't come back. But they are ALL shrinking. That alone is pretty conclusive evidence, without all of the other semi debatable statistic projections theories.

And there are far too many media and politicos spin doctoring science sound bites in order to further their own agendas. But rapidly shrinking glaciers and ice caps that no longer fully form each winter are measurable in something better than PPM ratios.

I say that it's warming sure but primarily because the the 7 billion human load. Cars and trucks? That's just us humans escalating our use of fuels for transportation thus agreeably raising our heat footprint but even if we had no cars of any sort whatsoever we'd still be heating the planet with so many people. So many more dwellings to heat. And where fiscally relevant, so many more dwellings to cool by heat exchangers. It's the humans producing the heat... not the cars. or trucks.

If we can be reasonable about restricting factory pollution then how can it hurt? I see filthy factories overseas routinely whereas in the US we clean up a little nicer, hide the bad shit a little better, so that our citizens aren't bothered by the process which they use to feed themselves. Over there they couldn't give a shit. Get another worker. Next.

Heat is a function of human habits. Sure driving is one of them but there are many.

I used to live in the Phoenix area long ago and drove a motorcycle through the oranges groves then present. The temperature would drop by some 15-20 degrees entering the grove and rise to desert heat as soon I exited. It was pronounced. Should we plant oranges everywhere?

Asphalt roads and asphalt roofs reflect a lot more heat than orange groves but we likes us our suburbs. We want to live in places where we have manipulated the landscape to suit our own pleasures, think Las Vegas pissing away all that water daily, and so now now we've heated up the place a degree or two... where is the surprise?

While hybrid cars are a good place to start, in the larger picture they are not the problem. We are.

When I was young(in the '70s)...the ice age was coming to kill us the scientists said. Some how, in less than 40 years, now it's going to be too hot. Fuck it.

I wrote a huge response to this but they my laptop went retard mode and refreshed the fucking page. So this isn't the full piece.

We do have glaciers right now, we are in a mini ice age. It is the tail end of the mini ice age but we are still in one. They are melting because the Earth is warming but it's not because of the fucking industrial revolution CO2. Nobody is arguing that the Earth is getting warmer but it is asinine to think it's because of cars and trucks and ect... It is a natural process that has happened throughout the history of the Earth, yes even pre human. Think about that.

These glaciers will disappear at some point and then there will new ones that form after they are gone. That is the way the Earth has worked forever.

Why has the Earth's temperature always fluctuated throughout it's pre-human history?

    The Earth is NOT static.

I don't know how many times I can say the Earth is not static but it wouldn't be enough.

We've heated up the place, you don't think the sun could have anything to do with that.

Also, if we put the Earth's history on a time line of a single year I believe Humans came into existence 5 seconds before midnight on December 31 and the industrial revolution happened 1/2 a second before midnight on Dec 31st. So you think Humans can change the Earth in .5 of a second.

Global Warming is pseudoscience to the fucking max and it has the consensus right in the palm of their hands just feeding them more and more and more money.

Looking to drop some LBs. Don't give a crap about building muscle or having a beach body. Just wanna slim down.

Not looking for "Lose ______ in 7 days!". I'm not really fat so quickness isn't important to me. Ditching fast food and stuff is easy for me. What kind of eating regimen should I go on to slim down in the face/overall? Lots of fruit and veggies? What are the sneaky things to avoid? Is running a mile every night and balling it up a couple times a week enough exercise?
