    professional
probably just in it for the paychek
    doesnt really care about winning
just wants to get his cash and live in nice sunny socal
having to move would be a bitch
even if it means going to a much better team
    thats how comfortable he is
someone that comfortable might pitch well enough to keep you in the game... but thats not the guy whose gonna go out there and put the team on his back and will himself to a win
    professional
    but nothing more

for that money i would rather go with a 4 man rotation and put the money towards signing another big bat and if we need a 5th pitcher then use a minor leaguer/rookie/or sign one of those cheaper veterans
or hope one of our young pitchers breaks out and takes over the job and effectively replaces kuroda
we have plenty of pitchers who are at about that level next season
one of those might just be our next surprise rookie
we even had some this season, even though we had such a shitty year
and knowing that we have them is huge this offseason
but the only reason we have them is because we played them and we developed them
you cant develop them if you dont play them
so im all for putting that money at a position we have a need at and using some of that minor league pitching depth to see if we can pull something great again like we did this year with our young fire throwing closer committee

and if that fails then we go after a trade for a big name pitcher at the deadline if the offense is kicking ass and all we need is that extra big pitcher behind kershaw to round things out
that puts us in the best position going into the playoffs

this is the strategy of the phillies
and as much as dodger fans hate the phillies, we would be smart to copy this type of front office strategy

then again they would probably still pay kuroda and then go after a great pitcher at the deadline anyway
    greedy bastards!

havent worked on dsp all day
spent the day at the beach freezing my ass in the water before catching the matinee of immortals with a friend in the evening

dsp never gives me much stress
thats why when it goes down it does always come back right away
i used to stress about it and try to resolve it right away, not sleep all night and shit like that
but now i get to things in due time
priorities had gotten a little out of whack

    pretty fanfuckintastic!
i love how tarsem films his movies, he has great attention to detail and uses scenery very well
of course the problem with tarsems movies is that the story has big holes and the dialog some hockey/cheesy parts and things will all seem a bit too rehearsed and look a bit too slick if you know what i mean

still as a rich audio visual experience in my favorite genre the pseudo-historical epic

king hyperion reminded me a lot of the king of tyre mentioned in the bible in whats supposed to be an analogy to the devil
at one point hyperion says something about coming from tyre or going to trye im not entirely sure

but the minotaur cult of crete = the baal cult of mesopotamia and the zebu cult of india

I was reading about the Kemp signing and one of the reasons that he took the first year at 10 million (according to both him and D. Stewart) was to allow the club flexibility in signing other FAs to help the team. Perhaps, Kemp suggested that he would be more inclined to stay with a little protection in the lineup.

Right now there are 35 posted on dodgers.com, but that doesn't include the 5 listed above. The 35 also includes Kuo, Hawksworth and Gwynn who can be non-tenderd AND excludes Belly. Additionally, I am assuming that Ely and Monasterios are still on the 40-man.
Assuming that Kuo, Hawksworth and Gwynn are signed, the 5 added would bring us to 40.

I really dont think Kuroda would justify the 10-12M this season, in any case. I love the guy, I really do, but he's in a pretty big decline. Let his low ERA fool some other team.

I dont think we're missing out on much if we dont sign him.

it's not like we'd be signing him to a multi year deal

if he took 1 year last year, he'd take 1 year again

and he's still the 2nd best pitching Free agent
even if he didnt pitch like he did in 2011, i'd take his 08-'10 seasons for 2012

    That's true.

I just dont feel we're missing out on some great pitcher, when you look into his numbers his next season doesnt look promising in the slightest.

So are we really sure Dre and Loney will be around next year? What about Kemps numbers without them? Kemp is under contract cheap, very cheap for next year. Way below what he would have costs in arbitration. Was it worth it for him now to extent with the way things are starting to play out? Is this motivating Dre to not want to be traded?

Colletti: "We are going to need big years out of Andre, James, and Juan Uribe."...

So I'd assume they plan on keeping those two around. I wouldn't attend any games next year if Dre is gone, and Loney for that matter.
