For LA Ford....forgot to reply .... I would have been fine with Capuano, even though I'm not president of his fan club. He's a LH, a benefit in itself, especially to a club like St.L who has difficulty with them. Also, it gives a little spell for Howell is is looking a little more overused with every game. Just my take....but Nolasco? He sucks right now, and the 3 he gave up early, IMO, were just a prelude to way more coming if he had stayed in there. Ricky, as he is known, just don't have it...he's good for giving up 5/6 runs, IF he gets to the 5th, which he seldom does now. Not what the team needed; not by a long shot. I understand about proper rest, I know the bats suck, but they're not the problem throwing hanging sliders and meatballs to opposing batters. I just would rather see anyone else out there at this point in time, that's all. Leaving Capuano off the roster was a poor choice, indeed. Water under the bridge right now, but a loss is a loss. And DBB himself said that he wrestled with even using Nolasco for days. I guess if the manager has indecisiveness whether to start a guy, he's not exactly confidence inspiring. As it was, it wasn't the right decision... that's how I see it.
Wow. Another article about us "showboating". 1) we are celebrating, not showboating 2) we aren't celebrating any more than anyone else (less if you add Zack Greinke's ridiculous enthusiasm to the equation) 3) when did the world get so sensitive, and I hope these guys never watch an NBA game as they might die Talk about the most overblown shit I've ever seen. Anyone who can't handle an Adrian dynamite blowing up celebration needs to fuckin move to England and get into lawn bowling. Sorry ass fucks. We don't celebrate anymore than anyone else.
The biggest K.O for me was giving him a loss. Let's K.O the Cardinals organization by getting a couple more wins!
Just because you heard the Cardinals can't hit LHP, doesn't mean Capuano shuts them down. The Cardinals kill him left handed or not. Current Cards vs. Capuano .327BA and Nolasco .329 after that last outing. So as you can see, they have almost the same stats yet Nolasco is a starting pitcher, Cap wasn't for a longtime. Neither was a good choice, but they were our only choice and Capuano hasn't started a game in God knows how long. This will be a problem next series too, so put in your votes if we get there.
sure, just a stat but still... anything to make me feel even a bit calmer at this point fuck, how much longer til game time?!!! The Cardinals are the only team in MLB history to twice blow a 3-1 series lead in the LCS. They lost to a superior Atlanta Braves team in 1996, and then repeated the dubious feat last year against the San Francisco Giants. They lost Game 5 in L.A. 6-4, and the path they face isn't easy. Yes, they're at home, and yes, they have Wacha and ace Adam Wainwright lined up for the last two games. But they face the consensus best starter in baseball tonight (Kershaw) and if they lose this one, they have to face Hyun-Jin Ryu, who hasn't allowed an earned run against the Cardinals in 14 innings this season. In a winner-take-all game, anything can happen.LINK __
okay, feeling the mojo... must remember to breathe... breathe!!! For the Dodgers, an opportunity to make some historyBy J.T. Brown | Title Town News -- 4 minutes agoCan you imagine the look on Don Mattingly’s face if you told him on June 3 that he’d end up being two wins away from the World Series … and that Clayton Kershaw was pitching the first one?I don’t understand why any Dodger fan could have a negative attitude going into tonight’s game. Yeah, if they lose, the season’s over, but that’s just one option. If they win, think about how awesome that will be. No seriously, imagine it. That would mean game seven, which is the best thing in sports. And if you ask me, the odds are in the Dodgers favor. It starts with Kershaw. Do I need to say anything else? OK, he’s already lost to the Cardinals once this series. He took a hard hit, too, by giving up a whopping one unearned run on two hits. That’s what did him in, and it earned him his first postseason loss EVER. The Dodgers bats went silent that night, getting five hits off rookie Michael Wacha, converting none of them into runs.Oh, and about Wacha, I’d be nervous if I were wearing red tonight. Not to take away from his stellar pitching thus far in the postseason (2-0, 0.64) and regular season (4-1, 2.78), but he is young, and this is the biggest game he’s ever pitched. He knows that one slip-up, one missed location, one hanger and the Dodgers could get all the runs they need to back Kershaw and take this series to game seven. Wacha has been great, but I don’t think tonight will be another one of his near-no-hitter performances.Importantly, in game five, the Dodgers found their bats. Finally, they got some runs on the board, almost doubling ther production in the series up to Wednesday afternoon’s game (seven runs in first four games, six on Wednesday). Four home runs (one each by Ellis and Crawford, two by Gonzales) and a couple timely singles by Uribe and Grienke were more than a pleasant sight to Dodgers fans everywhere.Dodgers Nation should not think of tonight as a last chance, but as a step to becoming one of baseball’s great postseason comeback teams. Remember the ’04 Red Sox comeback? Everyone does. Only about a dozen teams teams have ever come back from 3-1. (Although four of them have done it against St. Louis, including San Francisco last season.)The Dodgers have a chance to make some history. That’s something to be excited about. __
Sweet. I really don't feel like we have as big of mountain to climb as I logically think I should being down 2 games on the road. The pitching matchups are good for us even though we are facing 2 great pitchers, hanley is hurt, etc. I feel these pitchers will keep us in the game but we have to score. Then again, I thought we had a real good chance to win the first 2 games, and would've bet we would get at least one and didn't...so you just never know.
yeah i guess the best way to describe my feeling is i'm confident, but i'm also nervous hoping our bats come out hard and wacha melts down early and often
I wore a Dodgers shirt for Game 3, we won, so I wore one Game 4 and we lost, didn't wear one for Game 5 and we won, so I'm not gonna be wearing one lol
