@Ken_Rosenthal: Sources: Deal between #Dodgers and #Braves would involve six players. Uribe and minor leaguer for [Alberto] Callaspo and three minor leaguers.
Hard to react when you don't know what the "extra pieces" are. Uribe is better then Callaspo and man is it gonna be sad to watch him leave. Such a fun guy but I mean, makes sense for him to be the one to have to move given his age, contract status, and performance. By the way, this move is pending Callaspo having to accept. Since he's a newly signed free agent, he has to approve any deal before June 15
This trade is only for whatever minor leaguers we are getting back who will likely be used in a trade later this year.
It feels weird to say how much Uribe would be missed but man, even if he's not doing well he makes a long season a lot of fun such a great guy to root for. Now I sound like he's dying. But still, love him as a bench player and that defense ugh ugh I hope this is good
anyway good stuff here for both teams. good time to strike..the first of many moves i assume. sort of how the Lakers had to do Fisher because he was so popular but no longer necessary. Puig was with the team yesterday i know..maybe he came back to see Uribe off? whatever. Uribe and Markakis are good vets to have around a young and pretty talented core of Freeman/Simmons my only question is why not take Ethier too? he might fall off like Kemp, but he'd still be better than Gomes.
The deal appears to have “lost traction,” tweets MLB.com’s Mark Bowman. A move is not presently imminent, per the report.
@mlbbowman: It sounds like the potential deal involving Juan Uribe and Alberto Callaspo has lost traction. Nothing imminent right now. #Braves #Dodgers Lol
Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal · 43s43 seconds ago Source: #Dodgers getting major-league pitching in Uribe-Callaspo trade, not simply minor leaguers. Again, no major names. Better not be that bum who pitched last night
Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal · 5m5 minutes ago Again, that is if trade goes through. Callaspo must approve. Callaspo may be getting flipped..they keep excluding him and making the deal about pitching. then again, this is Rosenscrub
I am strongly rooting for this trade not to happen. I like Uribe. Callaspo isn't awful, but come on. Don't like how it could ruin chemistry and there isn't any pitcher on their roster that is attainable that I want.
@Ken_Rosenthal: Sources: Callaspo rejected trade. Had right under CBA to say no to any deal before June 15 as a free agent who signed last off-season. Welp
