Mccarthy and Kazmir returning will be a huge plus for next season. So we're already playing with house money, imo. But do we have any other areas for improvement? Can't wait for spring training!

Don't forget, we still have Puig. He will fix our issues against lefties.

Isn't it crazy how bad he is offensively now? Has anyone done a side by side breakdown of his mechanics and all that from when he first came up?

I've defended Puig. It annoys me when announcers lazily say, "He just hasn't done anything outside of that incredible 2013 debut". Because that's a lie. He had an OBP of like .390 in 2014 and slugged well too. All with great defense.

But he legitimately sucks offensively now. He doesn't have a chance in the box anymore.

He made adjustments when he came up but we already had Reddick so his at-bats were few and far between so with Reddick and Dre probably gone he'll get more run next year. He obviously has issues but IMO it isn't because he is bad, he'll get his chance next year but it will most likely be his last. Thing I noticed was his left foot being slightly raised when he came back up, don't know if that was the trigger.

PS. He was 0 -5 against the Nats but walked 4 times and hit .308 against the Cubs in limited action.

Wish list... full time players that can hit lefties with two lefty hitting specialists off the bench.

    2B: Jonathan Villar
    SS: Corey Seager
    LF: Ryan Braun
    3B: Justin Turner
    1B: Adrian Gonzales/Danny Valencia
    RF: Yasiel Puig
    CF: Joc Pederson
    C: Yasmani Grandal

    Bench:
Danny Valencia starts versus left handed pitching for Gonzales and gets plenty of spot starts in any of the 4 corners vs righties.
Andre Ethier finishes his career as the teams main pinch hitter.
Howie Kendrick as the Utility IF.
Austin Barnes as the backup C
Chooch or Utley as a reserve/pinch hitter.
We dont need a Kike/Culberson since Villar can play SS if Seager needs a rest/injured.

We will most likely lose Toles in a trade to the Brewers
As far as pitching... Urias and DeLeon should be ready to go full season. We have a lot of other arms coming up too. Retain Kenley is a no brainer. Sign Ervin Santana for the middle of the rotation and retain Rich Hill to be a good end of the rotation guy with Maeda.
Kershaw, Urias, Santana, Hill, Maeda is pretty good.

    Critical free-agent decisions await Dodgers
    by Ken Gurnick | MLB.com — 24 minutes ago

CHICAGO -- The Dodgers' front office must quickly turn attention to the business of the offseason and 11 potential free agents, most notably closer Kenley Jansen and third baseman Justin Turner.

Also eligible to leave are pitchers Brett Anderson, Joe Blanton, Rich Hill, J.P. Howell and Jesse Chavez; infielder Chase Utley; and outfielder Josh Reddick.

In addition, the club has a $4.5 million option on catcher Carlos Ruiz, though they will likely will exercise a $500,000 buyout. And starting pitcher Scott Kazmir, who ended the season injured, can opt out of the remaining two years and $35.33 million on his contract and become a free agent.

The focus will be on retaining Jansen and Turner, who have been as valuable to the Dodgers in recent years as any player not named Clayton Kershaw. Management has told both they are wanted back, although there has been no indication of serious negotiations during the season.

Jansen enters a market that also includes closers Aroldis Chapman and Mark Melancon, although nobody used the postseason to boost his value more than the right-hander, who unselfishly extended himself to 2 1/3 innings in the NLDS clincher and a career-high three innings in Saturday's 5-0 loss in Game 6.

Jansen earned $10.65 million this season. Considering his age (29) and the heightened importance of the bullpen in recent years, Jansen could command a multi-year deal at an annual salary approaching the record for a reliever set by his idol, Mariano Rivera, of $15 million a year. That's likely to be well beyond what the Dodgers will pay for a reliever, while the Cubs, Mets and Giants are likely to be very interested.

Jansen didn't want to discuss free agency after Saturday night's loss.

"No, it's still early for me right now," he said. "This feels awful right now. We got so far, and we fell short. I'm still thinking of what we accomplished and how short we fell. We just fell a little bit short."

Turner presents a different set of issues.

He's 31 with a history of knee problems, but emerged this season as a slugger of 27 homers with 90 RBIs and the Dodgers have nothing like that on the cusp of graduating from the farm system. He made a bargain $5.1 million this season could be deserving of a multi-year deal that would take him into his mid-30s. The Dodgers are probably hoping the popular California native and clubhouse leader will take a hometown discount.

"Come on," said Turner when asked if he thought this might be a Dodger farewell. "No, not at all. I'm focused on tonight. We fell short tonight. I'm just taking time to reflect, not thinking about what's going to happen in the future. I'm going to take my time with these guys and enjoy these moments."

There was a domino effect.......awful starting pitching broke down a bullpen which got them into the playoffs.

Going to be difficult, but I hope they can sign both Turner and Jansen.

There will be an overpay (there always is for a quality FA), but the Dodgers don't have anyone on the current 40 capable of replacing either of those two..........not close.

Imo, the Dodger's time is over, for a substantial while anyway. We might be somewhat competitive, but that's it. We will be like Trump...rich and basically successful, but will always fall short of the brass ring.
We were fortunate to have sooo many chances to be champions, but certainly didn't have the will and inner strength or leadership to seize it.
The age of Hillary will usher in other, more deserving, more complete teams for the fray.
The world will be an uglier place too.

Turner if he slows down due to knee injuries could be a viable replacement for Adrian at 1B if/when Corey moves to 3B.

That would be alright except Bellinger is Adrian's 1B replacement
