With Latavius Murray signing in Minnesota, Adrian Peterson officially will be moving on from Vikings. And now, Oakland has a RB opening....

    It's gettin real.
It'd be pretty wild if Murray and AP swap places..and I'll take it.
The RAIDER coaching staff reportedly used to joke that Murray had yet to break a tackle in the league. Lol
I've seen AP break some tackles.

Former USC QB Todd Marinovich pleads guilty to naked trespassing
by Nick Bromberg | Dr. Saturday — 20 hours ago

Former USC and Los Angeles Raiders quarterback Todd Marinovich could avoid jail time after pleading guilty to charges he was nakedly trespassing in someone’s backyard while possessing drugs.

Marinovich, 47, was found unclothed in the backyard of someone’s house in the Los Angeles area in August. Tuesday, he pleaded guilty to five misdemeanor counts regarding charges of public nudity, drug possession and trespassing.

Per the Orange County Register, Marinovich’s sentence as part of pleading guilty is a 90-day jail sentence. But he won’t have to serve that jail time if he completes a six month term in an outpatient rehab facility and a three-year probation sentence.

The former quarterback has struggled with drug issues for quite some time. Police said Marinovich was carrying a bag with methamphetamine and had marijuana when he was arrested for trespassing. From the OC Register:

[Attorney Adam] Cole said Marinovich decided to check into an out-patient rehab facility after his arrest and is doing well. He said Marinovich is subject to regular drug tests at the facility and has been testing clean since his arrest nearly seven months ago.

“He’s positive and in good spirits, and he wants to be held accountable for what he did,” Cole said. “He’s looking forward to his future.”

Marinovich played two years at USC and completed nearly 62 percent of his passes. He threw for 5,001 yards, 29 touchdowns and 25 interceptions in 1989 and 1990 and was a first-round pick of the Raiders in the 1991 NFL draft. He played just two seasons in the NFL and made eight starts in 1991 and 1992.

His NFL career ended after the 1992 season when he was suspended for failing a third drug test during training camp in 1993. He was subsequently cut by the Raiders and never played in the NFL again.

Raiders strongly considering acquiring RB Marshawn Lynch, either through trade or by his release, sources tell @JosinaAnderson and me.

By the way, #Raiders inquired about #BeastMode last year & a trade nearly happened. Marshawn decided to stay retired. We’ll see this year

I woke up in BEAST MOOOODE

Former Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch wants to play for the Oakland Raiders, a source said to MMQB's Peter King.

    2 tidbits on Marshawn Lynch: 1. Source on un-retiring says it’s “realer than it’s ever been” … 2. It’s #Raiders or bust. #BeastMode

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, it’s "Raiders or bust" for Marshawn Lynch.
Lynch isn’t willing to play for the Seahawks or anyone other than his hometown Raiders. Additionally, Lynch un-retiring is "realer than it’s ever been," which lines up with what MMQB’s Peter King reported on Monday. Expect this to get worked out before the draft so the Raiders know what they have. Right now, odds seem much better than 50-50 that Lynch will be a Raider.

Yeah, it's only right that it's the RAIDERS doing it..1st to do so many things throughout the NFL's history.
Thought the trailblazing died w/Al, but Mark D. has picked the ball right up..made them a really good team again as well.
Only problem being the team isn't leaving Oakland fast enough. Smh
Fuck that O.Co dump, but Davis probably thinks he's still gonna draw big numbers for the next couple years w/the team being SB contenders.

I would like to have seen them stay in Oakland, but if it wasn't LA, this was probably about the best place for them. My only hope there is that they can still regularly outdraw road fans in a place where there are going to be a lot of fans of opposing teams. I think they easily will, but that will be a concern in the back of my mind at least at first.

THIS TOO. Terrible idea to stay in a place where they know you're leaving them. The fanbase is great and all, but boy are they taking a big risk by sticking around when there is an available stadium where you're going. I think the plumbing works at Sam Boyd too, so that's a plus.

" Easily " is the right word.
Few teams travel better than the RAIDERS.
Baltimore was basically the Black Hole this year, Ravens' fans were pissed.
But yeah, I think that was a big part of them getting the OK..not much to be concerned about on that end.
Proximity to LA also a plus.

One of the few teams that can pull it off.
And watch how they buffer this news w/a Marshawn Lynch addition to help pacify Oaklanders.
A lot of RAIDER fans, even after this news, are already back on to the RAIDERS' chase for free agent MLB Zach Brown Lol
Next to move, IMO..Jags or Bills to Toronto

Hah, Rapaport just brought up an interesting point. Visiting teams are going to have their hands full when going to LV trying to keep their guys off the strip. Honestly never thought about that. My guess is Lake Las Vegas could be getting very busy about 8 weekends a year.

It will be interesting if this is now added incentive for Marshawn so that Oakland can go out with a bang or if he sees this as a slight to his hometown. I heard over the weekend that they were back in on Brown, but it was more due to him circling back around after not getting the offers he thought were coming. It'd be sweet to get him, Lynch AND somehow Aldon Smith is reinstated and not off to prison. That D could be legendary.

RAIDERS could have their hands full keeping their own guys fully in line as well.
WR Brandon Marshall made a good point..the locker room is key..must have strong leadership.
Carr, Mack, Del Rio, McKenzie..RAIDERS currently have very strong leadership, but of course it's going to have to continue on past the point of these guys' careers.
It'll be a challenge, but getting off to a good start with those guys already in place figures to be the best case scenario

Brown is almost in the same position that Dozier was..few ILB openings around the league and the teams that do need them ( aside from the RAIDERS) aren't very good so no real incentive to pay him that much.
He's trying to use Miami as leverage against the RAIDERS, but Miami just signed 2 starting ILB's - Kiko Alonso and Lawrence Timmons.
McKenzie is just waiting for him to come back around and he'll probably get a 1yr deal..maybe 2yrs or 1 and 1..I'd be shocked if he didn't land w/the RAIDERS, but stranger things have happened.
Marshawn, I've heard, is trying to be a good guy and not hurt any feelings in Seattle where he's still a fan favorite..he wants to be released and the second he unretires he probably will be released.
Seattle has 14M in cap space and 6M of that is going to the draft..which of course leaves them w/9M and Marshawn's actual cap number is 9M.
Seattle literally cannot afford for him to unretire, can't go about normal operations if he does, so it's pretty much all a PR sandwich right now that everyone's chewing on.
Aldon is done..RAIDERS don't even have to release him because his contract is void until he's reinstated.
He needs real help..away from the NFL-type of help because that hasn't worked thus far in his career.

I actually think it will be fun to see this, since they should get a high number of road fans at every game. With a huge fanbase in SoCal they should still outdraw road fans, but it won't be the same as it was in Oakland where no one wants to go. I like thinking about the vibe that the city will have on game weekends. If you are ever on the Strip or Downtown during a NASCAR weekend, you can always tell - and I imagine Raider weekends will have the same vibe with the thousands of fans visiting. As a former Las Vegan, I find this is exciting. I'm not a Raiders fan, but I'm 100x more likely to trek to Las Vegas for a game than I am to go 20 miles up the 405 to a Chargers game.
