Merge with off topic if it suits you. But this was my favorite.

Damn... just rewatched Casino Royale. Easily one of the top modern Bond songs imo.

its an old joke from the time
that anything new or big the other bands did was already done by Nirvana in their first album.
like how in british pop when any new sound or style of music comes out folks say its nice but the beatles did it better x years ago.
what made my joke worse is that it was pointing at the reports of cornell suiciding and that cobain and nirvana did it first/better.
    very bad taste joke
but hey they cant all be gems

i remember listening to their music and thinking how can this guy even operate w that level of doom
still surprising since he managed to live this long you would think he figured out a way to survive
the lyrics have always been the most important part of music for me and while i liked them it was just too dark for me
even darker than alice in chains and thats saying something
rusty cage was always a favorite since i broke from my own about that time
life isn't perfect but hard to imagine anyone in his position wanting to leave early unless he was really sick
michael hutchence was ruled a sex thing but his brother said he had lost his ability to taste and was an avid foody and wine guy
guess i could understand that too
maybe life just gets boring when you've been given everything you can desire everyday of your life for too long

I would argue that this is a top 5 music video of the MTV era, if not top 2 or 3. Can't hear this song without picturing this video, on par with Bee Girl in Blind Melons "No Rain" and a-ha's "Take on Me". "No Rain" and "Black Hole Sun" being the significantly better tracks, imo. Was very bummed to hear of Chris passing yesterday. BHS is a lifelong favorite of mine and Audioslave was the soundtrack to my semester in Hawai'i.

arguable because the eras change every 5-10 years
i was a teen when mtv first arrived
those first videos suck (by today's standards) but they were our first glimpse of a lot of bands/singers we had never seen before
keep in mind there was no internet in the late 70's, most households didn't have cable access, so we only heard them on the radio
when we finally got cable in 1982/83, mtv was -- without a doubt -- one of the greatest things ever
back then there were no shows/programs, just music videos 24/7
so while most of the videos from that time don't compare with ones in the 90's and later, they will always be special to me because of what they represented to my youth
i remember the first time i saw "do you really want to hurt me" and thinking "man that chick is weird" lol
