    Well not really
I like Toles and he's fast but he's a shit base runner... which with his speed - is a fail

Also, from the link Petriello shared..

Where's Trea Turner, you're asking? He didn't play enough to qualify for the list, but if he had, his 28.8 feet per second would have placed him sixth, just above Marisnick, though he still wouldn't have been 2016's fastest rookie outfielder. That would have been Andrew Toles of the Dodgers, who also didn't qualify but would have placed third with a scorching 29.1 feet per second, as good as Cain.

A bigger name doesn't necessarily mean you're faster.

Saying Toles could probably lap Kemp around the bases was purely a way of expressing how fast Toles is/how slow Kemp is.
The topic was OF ability, why I said he could legitimately play CF on occasions with his range beforehand.
So ultimately, stolen bases and all that shit is irrelevant.

Love Toles, but he doesn't utilize his speed, either in the field or on the bases. Can't steal bases and takes poor routes to the ball.

Not saying he can't improve those skills, but as of now they're non-existent.

Toles actually does apply his speed in the OF, like you said, he takes poor routes regularly, but then his elite speed/recovery makes up for the poor routes a lot of the time.
It´s poor usage, but it´s usage nonetheless.
And then there are the times when LAD has utilized his range in CF, so of course they get it, regardless of his poor routes he´s just plain fast.
As far as stealing bases goes, Toles stole 60+ bags in the minors in 2013, so he can swipe bags.
Ever since AF joined LAD and dumped Dee they´ve gone super-saber, they just don´t value the stolen base all that much.
Toles has only even attempted 3 steals since getting called up to LAD's big club last year..the lack of attempts points to organizational approach

He is top 5 if you just pull numbers out of your ass.
This is what we know of toles.
He is fast, yet does not know how to use his speed.

Takes time to figure out the pitchers moves in this league and he wasn't in the bigs for very long before the injury so it's a mulligan to me. Who knows what affect the knee surgery will have on that speed.

We do know this..Toles' defense looks ugly, but ultimately statistical analysis shows that he's still hovered around the average to just above average mark defensively.
    Does Toles need to improve?
    Can he actually improve?
Hell if I know, but he's Andrew Toles for a reason..nobody's ever mistaken him for Pittsburgh Barry Bonds.
There's a good chance that Toles just is what he is..which is an above average player and nothing more, and depending on how LAD fills the rest of it's roster out going forward, that might be enough if he can get back to that.
He was in the top half of the league in isolated power for corner OFs, so I'm sure the FO/DR wasn't complaining all that much.
But like you said, who knows what the future holds for Toles because of that knee and then 2) LAD is graduating productive/top tier specs every year and Verdugo is next up.
And the book isn't closed on Trayce Thompson either..he homered on the 14th and 15th of this month.
Last 10 games for Trayce, .296/.326/.488, so he's coming around.

    A-Gon went 3 - 4 with Rancho including 2 doubles and drove in 2. Logan went 1 - 2 with a walk and a run scored.

    Also, Trayce homered again.
So that's 3 HRs in the last 4 games.

    - Calhoun hit a walkoff bomb last night against a LHP. He is having a really good year at the plate and according to one of the OKC announcers, he has looked better and better in the field as the season has rolled on. 2 Errors thus far, which definitely doesn't tell the whole story, but he made an error on 4% of his chances last year and is now down to 2% this year, so that's good. He may never be an elite glove at 2B, but if the dude could just make the plays he has to, this offense will be stacked with his bat. He had a slow start in April, power wise that is, but has hit 6 HR's in 14 games this month. Still not walking much, but doesn't K a whole lot either and his contact tends to be of the harder variety.

    - Verdugo is in a slump. He missed a couple games and has not done much since coming back. What is also worrisome is that he has only had 6 extra base hits so far this season, none being a HR. The guy is supposed to be pretty built and has some near elite bat speed, but has a flat swing. Doesn't K much and actually has a 1:1 BB to K ratio right now. Hope this kid can start generating some more XBH's cause if Pederson is going to continue to OPS around .600, we may need this kid. He also brought back a HR the other night on a running, jumping catch into the wall.

    - Josh Ravin is probably ready to come back up. Pitched well after the shitty start to 2016 that included a gnarly car accident and getting popped for PED's when trying to speed up his recovery. Has struck out 15 and walked 2 in 7 innings. This is the guy that Romo should be looking over his shoulder for. Romo needs to fucking go.

    - Edwin Rios continues to crush in AA with a .353/.374/.576 line thus far and 7 HR's. Unlike the two hitting prospects above him, he's got a knack for the strike out, but he has improved those numbers over last season. He's also walking less, which is not a good thing as that was not something he was great to begin with either and pitch recognition is a bit of an issue for him. Due to his defense and lack of an opening at 1B, he is a likely trade piece.

    - Yaisel Sierra got rocked in his last outing, but besides that, had been pretty good this year. I have heard some positive reports on him. Seems like he is a guy who could be a great piece when he is on, but to expect a couple of bad outings here and there.

    - Josh Sborz had a rough start to the year, then 3 straight starts of 5+ innings, 0 ER, before getting beat up again in his last start. He is fighting the demons right now with the walk's and is sporting only a 16:13 K:BB ratio in 27 IP. The belief is that the team will eventually move him back to the bullpen, so it will be interesting to watch him moving forward.

    - DJ Peters is off to a solid start, but he is striking out a ton. A good amount of talk is circulating that it is only a matter of time before we are hearing about this kid at the top of our farm system.

    - Mitchell White has had a bit of an up and down start. He got crushed in two Lancaster starts that the word going around was due to some SHITACULAR weather and poor play behind him. He went 7 in his last start, giving up 1 ER, 0 BB's, 3 H's and 8 K. Scouts want to see a bit more consistency out of him.

    - Speaking of up and down, Yadier Alvarez is experiencing the same thing right now. Sounds like players are gearing up for his fastball a bit in hopes of not having to see his other stuff. Still has command/control things to work out.

    - Dennis Santana has continued to impress and show that he may be worth keeping in the conversation with Buehler, White and Alvarez. One not great start, but that aside has been on the money. Is K'ing close to a batter per inning, though the walks have started to creep in over his last 4 starts.

    - Keibert Ruiz has gotten off the mat after a slow start(the whole Loons team got off to a slow start). Not hitting for much of any power, but at 18 to be putting up a .296/.349 BA/OBP in the MWL is pretty solid. Also like that he is K'ing only at a 15% clip.

    - Brendon Davis is having a good year thus far, which was needed after he was worked over in his age 18 season with the Loons. Hitting at a clip of .280/.397/.448 with 3 HR's. Still young and with a ton of projection, the kid seems to have a good eye with the amount of walks he takes, but the K rate is at 33% clip, which has to improve.

    - Carlos Rincon has slowed a bit lately after his torrid start. Still OPS'ing at .866, but K'ing at a worrisome 38% of the time.

    - AJ Alexy is a name to watch. He is getting some minor attention here and there. Off to a decent start with the loons and only just turned 19. Got roughed up in his last start, but had looked pretty solid prior to that.

I had to trim some fat and like you said, he's 26 in AA. Don't think there is a future for him in this organization. Not with Barnes looking fully capable and Will Smith in the picture now as well.

Makes sense but have you seen the AAA catching roster? At least put him up a level and see if you can get something for the guy if he handles AAA as well as he has AA.

They must like the idea of having a veteran to call on in the event that something were to happen to Yas. That's the only thing I can think of so we don't have two rookies at the backstop.
