    the times i saw him live at UCLA i could see the talent but never got the #2 pick thing
    he's going to be around a while so i hope he can adapt
    that shot and then his hesitation plus the hype is not helping

    Zo's numbers through his 1st couple weeks are basically a match with Jason Kidd's numbers in his first couple weeks of his career, shooting %'s and all.
    Both averaging 9pts, 6 reb, 6 asts and Kidd was shooting 32% from the field after 2 weeks.
    Kidd was actually called " Ason Kidd " early in his career because of his shooting struggles, which unlike Zo, Kidd also carried with him in college.
    Zo has to get stronger, his lack of free throw attempts is the telling stat.
    Even if he weren't shooting well from the outside, if he were aggressive taking the ball to the basket he'd have a Rondo-like effect on the team because of all the shooting surrounding him now in the main 5 with Kuzma joining.
    4 out and 1 in, with Zo as the guy probing the interior and making plays for himself and others.
    But yeah, he just looks like Ingram at the start of last year, shying away from contact and needing more time in the weight room.
    Taking care of the ball..defensively and rebounding-wise, Zo has been pretty impressive

    He makes some bad decisions on his drives, often over penetrates and gets himself in trouble. Then other times he size away from contact when should be initiating it. All this is fixable with experience and strength.

    I've been pleasantly surprised by his rebounding and defense. He's a pretty good on-ball defender. That's impressive for a rookie. The low turnovers are nice too.

    All in all I see a player who does a bunch of things you can't teach really well, and who has a lot of room to improve, mostly on things that are teachable/fixable.

    Lakers have to be careful here. I remember they were at .500 early in the season before, then lost a few games in a row to teams they could have beaten, then the floodgates open on a horrendous season.

    They can’t afford to do that this year with no picks to gain, and an off season in which they seek to get a big time FA or two.

    They need to suck it up and win games.

    And Lonzo better find his shot....at the rim, beyond the 3 point line, and just about everywhere else, especially moving both left and right.

    It sure looks like that sometimes but the data says it does not matter in terms of his level of play.
    Those bad decisions rarely result in a TO.
    In fact the more he penetrates the more success he and the team has.
    So he gets himself in trouble sometimes, 9/10 he gets out of it and makes a play.
    That and other stuff you have a hard time teaching is why this kid is really good.
    You can teach him how to shoot. They will eventually fall.
    Like Kidd and Fisher who could not shoot but eventually focused on certain types of shots they could make until they turned into big time long range shot makers. While their percentages did climb into decent to good ranges it was more the fact that they made big shots when it mattered that sealed them as being good 3 point shooters.
    They were not good shooters, but their game elevated during crunch time and the crazy long distance 3's went in.
    That is the future I see for this kid.
    They wont look good, he will miss a lot, but when it counts you will want to count on him.

    I just think we should give him more than 12 games before we write him off to a bust

    Milwaukee is in San Antonio playing the Spurs tonight, so a back to back for them with big travel. LAL should look to jump on them early tomorrow.

    OKC is on a 4 game losing streak, had a players only meeting..obviously, those are never a good sign

    The Lakers are a horrible franchise at this point and I really don't care. If they go out and get LeBron, George, etc. I won't be hopping on the bandwagon.

    What????? Are you kidding me??? There is a TON to be happy about with this team. They got 7 guys averaging double figures in PPG. Their core is very Baby Blazeresq in Ingram/Kuzma/Nance/Ball. That does not include the guys possibly on the way out in Clarkson or Randall or the Vets that are also getting the job done in KPC and Lopez. I know they are not winning but lets all remember ITS ONLY 12 GAMES IN.

    They're starting two rookies and a 2nd year guy. They're the youngest team in the league, they're fun to watch, play decent defense and for the most part are competitive every night.

    They are going to get better and better.

    Not doubting you guys are right
    I didn't post that out of frustration
    I just legitimately don't care at all about the Lakers.
    Not that it matters what I think
    Haven't watched a game in years and won't be hopping on the bandwagon when they sign their max guys.

    Same here, but I've found the love again this year.

    I like this team and enjoy the games again, even when they don't win.

    I blame Kobe.

    He stuck around 2 years too long and ruined a whole lot of opportunities by being such an ass to team mates while collecting another $40M and ball hogging his way into oblivion. Good riddance. Loved his talent in his hay day but he abused the Lakers generosity... and it hurt us more than the causal fan will recognize.

    I've remained a Lakers fan but their Kobe-styled ball hog offense went nowhere but down.

    Now we've got a good group of kids who are just starting to feel their NBA oats. I think that trading Randle would be stupid, too much talent used too poorly to give up on the kid. He's trying much harder this year but Luke isn't buying it.. yet.

    Lakers should keep everyone under the age of 25 and get rid of the old slow legs that can't run and keep up with the kids.

    Deng = buh bye
    Brewer = buh bye
    Brooks = buh bye
    Bogut = buh bye

    Surely that gives us room for acquiring 'some' talent even if it doesn't get us both selfish LeBoner and cabbage head George

    Zo with his 1st triple double in a bad loss.
    I forgot just how bad Clarkson can be.
    It was a tight game and then Clarkson.
    And Clarkson again.
    And again.
    And again.
    All in a row too or damn near.
    But the Freak is amazing, what else can be said
