This is where you kill me on writing skills. I try like hell to write a post that says what I intended it to say and somehow in more than a few cases I mess it up. Bravo well done thanks for saving me.

Bleacher Report is saying Darvish has a 5 year offer on the table, but is not saying which team have him the offer.

Sounds like agent schenanigans. Who knows.

I think the team is stuck in a very weird spot with Grandal. He’s the type of player that really isn’t that valuable in a part time role because his streakiness makes it where you need to have him playing all year to get value from him. He’s either super great or the worst hitter on your team. That player isn’t easy to play part time cause when he’s great, you’ll never want to bench him, and when he’s bad, you’ll want to bench him right away. And you can’t magically know when he’ll be hot or not, so you play him all year so that you ride the hot streaks and live with the bad streaks.

But then, you can’t trade him cause we’re not sure if Barnes can handle a full season of catching without becoming ineffective from fatigue. I also don’t know how many teams need a catcher and can’t think of last time a good trade happened for a catcher.

So, it’s weird but I guess a good situation to have. I would honestly just start Grandal all year and have Barnes back him up and see what happens

If the front office thought Barnes could handle a full year, Grandal would’ve been traded by now

You don't put Yasmani on the trade block in the 1st place if you don't think Barnes can handle the long season or you're not confident in Farmer as his backup. Could stretch that out to their confidence in their ability to go out and deal for a suitable backup catcher for Barnes as well. The lame duck feeling for any player sucks, even worse when they already know they're not being re-signed. Even worse when it's the starting catcher, who's essentially supposed to be the QB of your team. It's a bad situation to be in..worse than when Hanley knew he was out of here and went flailing all year long in search of 4 HR games day after day, looking out for himself. Need to get out from under this situation with Yasmani..what opposing teams probably know, so the trade leverage here is likely weak and offers underwhelming considering the lack of team control as well.

We should just keep them because to get any value from our players from other teams seems to be slim to none. When we want a player they seem to ask for Seager or Belly.

When we trade players it seems like it is for salary relief.

I wouldn' mind if this year we took a chance on beefing up our staff since we passed up on big bats.

Basically this team was 1 game away from winning it all.

I wouldn't mind if we could be creative and sign Yu and Jake and call it a season.

    We will see what happens.

We're also talking about Yasmani here, who's dealt with his share of injuries and questions about his own ability to make it through a long season..combine that with the lack of team control and the trade leverage just can't be all that strong, even given the market. If he were to stay, I don't think it'd shock anybody if Barnes eventually had to take over again for this reason or that reason. And then you have a disgruntled situation on your hands.

Perfect situation for Yasmani is with a club like the A's or Rays..no huge expectations from a winning standpoint, so he can just swing for the stars and score his contract without a whole lot of worries. Wilson Ramos would make for a suitable partner for Barnes..lots of starting experience. And even though Ramos is also in his contract year, he's just not as good as Yasmani, so there's no demand for playing time with him. But Ramos is making more money than Yasmani this year, so they'd have to get some other things done to offset that.

Funny thing about Ramos is he could actually serve as a long term back up option for LAD if they're willing to meet the smaller $ demand. Ramos, from Venezuela..Keibert Ruiz, from Venezuela. May be a decent mentoring option for Keibert when he makes the jump in 2019 and a solid fallback option should Keibert struggle a little on arrival. Maybe they keep Barnes around in any scenario since he can handle other positions and be another safety net, or maybe they'd sell Barnes off to a team that values his backstop ability. Tough to say, but Keibert is coming fast.

    • Alex Rodriguez will join the ESPN team this season to work on Sunday Night Baseball telecasts. He will join the broadcast team of Jessica Mendoza, Buster Olney and new play-by-play man Matt Vasgersian, whose hiring was also announced Tuesday.

After the World Series meltdown, many didn’t expect the Dodgers to bring Darvish back. Despite this, the Dodgers have reportedly met with Darvish about a potential reunion. If there was any doubt before, Justin Turner made it clear that the Dodgers’ players want Yu back as well. He was recently a guest on SportsNation and he discussed wanting Darvish back as a Dodger.

" He’s an unbelievable pitcher. He went out against Arizona in the first round and absolutely dominated them. He pitched against the Cubs and dominated them. He’s a big part of the reason why we got to the World Series. To point him out and say we don’t want him back, we might not have been there if it wasn’t for him. "

If I may add on to Turner's words there, "..so get rid of this Kemp bum and Yasmani..we didn't need either of them to get to the World Series. Hurry up and make some room for Darvish already. "

I really want Darvish back tbh. He broke my heart, but so did Kenley, Kershaw, bellinger, turner.... I can get over it. He’s really good and can relieve a lot of concerns about the rotation. Also, he was super good in the division and championship series

As far as I'm concerned, if the guy has ALS, he gets an unlimited amount of fully acceptable dick moves for the rest of his life.
