    43.5%
  2. Front line starter (degrom, thor, et al)

If Kirk stays to his new form he'll throw the ball at one of the players....

    "Salaries are dictated by markets"
    --Manfred

Sure. Keep up the luxury tax penalties, draft penalties, etc. Free market by ass. I guess this was collectively bargained, but it's not a free market.

I will say though...Hosmer, Martinez and some of the other players on the market are not superstars and I think they're still on the board because front offices are much smarter now. No matter how good of a hitter Martinez is, he still isn't a 7+ WAR player.

manfred is a gap toothed lying bkitch
a selig groomed cronie, he (like selig) is going to favor the owners in every instance
neither cares/cared about the game... just the max profit owners can net

team spending should be based on how much a team earns, and...
    1. big market teams shouldn't be subject to the same spending limitations as teams who can't draw flies to shit
    2. teams should be penalized if they do not re-invest their earnings (ie spend)

    as for hosmer/martinez/moustakas...
all are good, scratch that, very good players
    but not elite superstars
could see them all having to settle for 1-year deals
not because (in this case) the owners are colluding, but like you said the front offices are becoming wiser
and i have my suspicions about martinez juicing :laford:

Turner's HR would've been an all-time Dodger classic had we finished the job
Instead, it will rot in my memory with all the 'didn't matter in the long run' post season moments 2006-present.

    'Tis long overdue, no doubt.
But I think the LAD draw leniency as to why so long.
Pretty sure it was Kirk himself that prolonged it, and was inexplicably against anything like this previously planned by the team.

If you remember his arm from his playing days, it wouldn't hurt.

It was slightly stronger than Juan Pierre's.

I think the fact that he has Parkinson's disease and that he was one of the more macho players and he doesn't want to show weakness held him back. Just a guess of course on the 2nd reason. Plus it is the 30th anniversary of his HR which had to play a huge factor in why this didn't happen earlier.

As someone who wasn’t alive in 88 I think of him way more as the douchebag D’Backs manager than a Dodger hero

Interesting take...the time and place determines how iconic or moronic a person could be for a fan...it is what it is.
I do certainly remember the look of Mac Fear on his face during the fight.

VRP is born, and the Dodgers stop winning championships. Coincidence? I think not.

I have a bad feeling about Seager's career. I think it's going to be filled with many injuries and post-season fades.

Not even throwing from 90 feet right now and isn't 100% with the elbow.

Hope I'm wrong, as I often am.
