9 innings from winning the world series to worrying about draft positioning is a new low, even for this franchise.

It's a World Series hangover that will probably be unprecedented that's for sure.

It's injuries, horrific bullpen performance, among other things. If the bullpen were as good as last year, even with the other injuries, they are probably 5 games better. I'm just thinking of games they've blown in the 7th or later.

I don't even blame the Nerds for the bullpen, honestly. Very little, anyways.
Bullpens are fickle beasts and you never really know what you're going to get

Injuries are the largest factor of course.
But as much as we hate on intangibles, I'd love to see a sports psychologist make sense of this team. I really do feel like November 1st was a funeral and it takes a special group to bounce back from that. It was easier to swallow for them in 2016, knowing the Cubs were better. But that was the best Dodger team in probably 40 years and they still lost on their home field after losing every close game in crushing fashion. It was a grueling series.

You HAVE to blame them for this bc it's their drunken overspending on damaged goods that led us to this bargain basement season of dumpster diving. Listening to Orel try to oversell Chargois, Hudson and STILL having Baez makes it even worse. Hell, even their "Big" off season savior Koehler is MIA. What a fucking shitburger GuGGs is feeding us!

..... but I'm sure glad AF is getting 7MM/ per to run things. Maybe Boehly wants some of his money for his own pocket too?

Yeah you're told about it if you wanted a player that went somewhere else, or didn't like a player that is doing well somewhere else, and reminded constantly about how correct they were...all the time.
But what a guy on a website suggests or supports means shit really, compared to a guy making fucking millions and whose specific job it is to improve the team.
At least that is the public face shown.

That's a good point, man. I'm with you.

They've made some awesome trades (Dee Gordon, Hector Olivera, etc) but have been horrible on FA deals.

Julio Urias is throwing off the front of the mound now. As long as there are no setbacks, it should not be much longer before he starts to face batters in a controlled environment. On the surface, it continues to look like he is ahead of schedule which had a back half of 2018 goal for him potentially having any impact in the majors. Fingers crossed that he has not seen a major slip in his stuff as with the emergence of Buehler and now even Dennis Santana, the young arms for the rotation are intriguing.

I think the next few weeks will determine whether or not the Dodgers even attempt to get somebody like Manny Machado on board. If they get too far out of it and the bullpen doesn't improve, they're gonna need to sell.

They're running out of time and should have an idea by June 1.

LOL - They paid Olivera like 32MM bucks to do nothing before they traded him. Part of the drunken spending I was referring to. The best trade they have made was for last year's Chris Taylor, otherwise, they have thrown money at every deal to make the other team agree, and now we're the ones paying.

    Ned signed him.
The Nerds getting his money off the books while getting Wood and other pieces was pretty good

    Are you sure about that??????

Don't forget, they gave him that huge signing bonus and then jettisoned him. They aren't deal makers, they're fucking saps with daddy's checkbook! I wish I could get my hands on Friedman at a car dealership, the dipshit!

Bummer for us, "Daddy" grounded Friedman and took away his credit card! Tell you what, if I were in Walter's shoes and walked into that committee GM office that costs 8 figures/year I'd lose my shit and wash the lot of them out the door with a fucking fire hose!

...and a better man for it, boyo.
    Lol.
Tbh though, trying to unravel the FO logic on things seems a huge waste, since the results since they've been here has been the"elite"status quo maintained, but no more than that. I guess a true champion's heart is something you need to be a champion and having geniuses in charge simply doesn't provide that; you just get so many chances at it.
    ..and now this.
A 180°. The anti- champions. Or the anti almost champions.

Olivera was signed about 5 months after Farhan was hired.

I wouldn’t mind if the FO Just stayed out of Cuba altogether. Cuba has been a money pit for us.
