Corcino has some impressive movement. He's nothing you want to see on the back end, but he definitely could be an interesting MR.

Awesome! Joc, Puig, Muncy, Cody all playing well. Hopefully healing, rest, and timing will get JT back to where we need him and lets add Machado to the mix!

    Whats the problem?
    Corey Seager went down.
Max Muncy has replaced him in the lineup amply.
Turner got hurt but now he's back and getting his swing in tune.
Bellinger started to look like Joc but now his power back by cutting down on walks.
Puig is steadily putting up another good solid season.
Joc no longer looks like chicken sandwich Joc but now hes big mac royale with cheese Joc.
Kershaw is looking more and more human and Woods looking like a Chad Billingsley clone.
But Buehler and Stripling showed up and are better than both.
Grandal is streaky and can get cold but when he is hot the bats start dropping.
The Dodgers will have guys get better and contribute or make a trade or promote another prospect or former prospect that will come in and play well right away.
The bullpen has improved dramatically the past month.
So this seasons Dodgers team is about as good as last seasons.
Then there is also Matt Kemp which is a total bonus.

    SS: Taylor
    2B: Muncy
    LF: Kemp
    3B: Turner
    1B: Bellinger
    CF: Joc
    RF: Puig
    C : Grandal

That is an impressive lineup if you consider how they are playing right now.
Kershaw, Buehler, Stripling and 1 outta the pool of Hill, Wood, Ryu, Maeda or possibly even Urias is a mighty nice playoff rotation.
And that is before any trades. The bullpen will be strong thanks to all those starting pitchers getting healthy or no longer needed in the rotation. If the Dodgers trade for a good starting pitcher then not only is Maeda, Hill, Ryu and Wood a needed addition to the bullpen but so is Strip steak.

Next year Seager comes back. Where do you put him?
And what do you do with Matt Kemp if he puts up an MVP caliber season?
Seager goes back to SS and Taylor becomes the best utility player in the game.
But then what about the big FA class the Dodgers saved up their salary tax moneis for?
If you get Machado then Muncy and Joc go to the bench while Seager goes to 1B and Bellinger to CF which his hitting dislikes.
If you get Harper then Puig is not resigned and Harper takes over RF with Bellinger going to CF and Seager to 1B with Joc going to the bench.
I like Machado but Bryce Harper seems to be more logical choice for the lineup.
That kind of depth means a killer platoon of Joc and Taylor in CF is possible yet both will be on the bench as super subs.

Dave gets too cute with the bullpen. Kid had 65 pitches. Why not see what else he’s got?

He's developed it into a thing. He even made light of it to downplay it as cover. It's kind of out of control.

I think what he had last night (very little) is why he was pulled.

Hopefully this isn't another Joc/Puig tease. We've seen these hot streaks before, only to be let down in the long run.

But isn't that exactly why he could have let the kid go one more inning and earn a ML win?
Might have done wonders for the the kid's ego, instead of yanking him with a 4 run lead ? Kid must have thought he was worse than he was, even though easily as effective as meatballer Wood and better than that useless tranny Hill.
Just because he is young does not mean he is a damn idiot...

I think it had all to do with the fact that when he made the decision, it was still fairly early in the game and somewhat close. Not to mention, the top of the Rangers lineup was due up for the third time and the last time through the order, they we smoking the ball off of him. Having only 2 pitches and not really locating the way he has done in the minors meant they probably needed to get him out of there.

I honestly think this whole experience has been really good for the kid. I have no idea what his personal makeup is, but apparently last year he was pissed that scouts still looked down on him after the season he had. So he got in the weight room and bulked up a bit which added a couple MPH's to his fastball. If he continues on that path this offseason after a rough pro debut, he may be able to work in that 93-95 range with more regularity(something he is supposedly doing in the minors). With that said, it is for that reason that I hope this experience teaches him to work hard on a third and hopefully even fourth pitch. That change is bad and needs some serious refinement, so he should start working on that more in MiLB games. The other thing he needs to do is work on a slider. Kershaw was the same way when he came up, FB/Big Slow Curve that were great and a shitty fucking change. He was good, but he wasn't great(not to mention his stuff was just plain better) and teams started laying off the curve. Once he threw that slider in there, it made it so teams could no longer sit on his FB and spit on the curve. With how good Ferguson's curve is, you would think that it would be easier for him to manipulate something between the FB and slow bender. Definitely not throwing in the towel on this kid, but he will need to show me something in the coming weeks for me to think of him as anything more than #5 starter or BP piece.
