Ooops forgot about my man Farmer. If we didn't get Manny he probably would have been brought up after the JT injury. He's been our best pinch hitter and very clutch, I think because Barnes is apparently a good receiver that his offense can be excused but I thought Barnes should have been sent down.

Dustin May has been promoted to AA. A lot of top organizational pitching prospects now in the upper levels of the minors. Going to have some really interesting depth potentially next season in the starting pitching department.

With the deadline coming and going today without any real losses, the Dodgers are going to have an interesting offseason with a load of MLB ready spects needing to be added to the 40-man roster this winter or else likely getting nabbed in the Rule 5 draft. Honestly a little surprised that they could not pull of some more trades for the pen with the pieces they have. I've been thinking that this is the year that the Dodgers either win it all with this group or the FO starts shipping off some pieces in hopes of finding the right guys somewhere else. Should be an active offseason and the Dodgers once again are looking to have considerable depth in the starting rotation going into 2019.

Shipping off big league guys like Kenley, Turner, Kershaw, etc? That'd be depressing.

Just briefly perusing the 40 man roster and there are going to be decisions going forward agree 100% and would describe it as gut wrenching decisions.

So Mayo say the Pads farm is loaded, do you share that sentiment?

Yes, they're scary loaded with big time talent, high upside and considerable depth. They are still probably a 2020 team, but they have some guys who could lay one hell of a foundation there.

Nah, but secondary guys that are close to FA is not unlikely i.e. Wood, Hill, Puig, Kemp and Joc. Could also see them let a guy like Grandal walk, Kershaw too if he opts out and they don't win it all before then.

And now Will Smith is heading to OKC. Not saying that anything like this will necessarily come to be... but, this is interesting timing. The OKC Dodgers have 34 games remaining and a chance for a few more if they make the playoffs. Now he won't play in all of the games, but say he plays in 30 and gets 4 AB's a game, he should get 120+ AB's at the AAA level. Basically what would need to happen for him to get the minute chance of a September call is for him to absolutely go off(like .850+ OPS) in that short stint. The chances are very slim, but his attributes are rated very similarly to Barnes with better power and a better arm. If Barnes continues to look so damned awful and Farmer is not someone the club thinks they could rely on, this COULD be a guy the FO gives a shot to to back up Grandal.

Piggy backing off my post now!! Outrageous!!! :D Good thing Farmer can play other positions. MLB.com farm system ranking came out right now post deadline according to my notification. We dropped from 11 to 7.

I can't seem to find what you are referring to. Having the #7 system would be a hell of a thing with so many graduations already.

What I could see being tricky about having smith on the big league club is that idk if there’s room on the 40 man (unless they’re cutting one of Barnes/Farmer).

There’ll already be some tough 40 man decisions to make with Urias, Ryu, and Santana presumably coming back... the obvious candidates seems to be DFAing Hudson, Locastro, and Segedin for those 3 but it gets tough after that and you also cut into a lot of position player depth by doing so.

Good point, but you're also going to be getting close to the end of the season. So if some other guy gets hurt and doesn't look like he is going to be back, the club could easily 60 day them. I would add Venditte and Liberatore to guys they could easily DFA, so there are certainly options.

True, idk why I didn’t think of Venditte or Liberatore. Never mind, we got plenty of areas to cut haha

Since we still have old posts you could search and find where I keep saying that during our playoff run Will Smith will be on the roster.
Only issue I see is that he does not have time getting familiar with the staff.
