    Yeah they spun Oliveras deal pretty good I think. Netted us two guys in our current starting rotation.

    Theory is all you and I have, because we don't actually play the game.
    At least not as beautifully and swiftly as one Mr. Jonathan Villar.
    If I was a closer and you a starting pitcher would you view me as superior and you as inferior?
    Because a closer has to wipe the slate clean every night because he has to pitch the next day.
    Starters have the luxury of dwelling on their mistakes and turning that into a personal melodrama they can use to psyche themselves up.
    Closers don't fuck with their psyche to get hyped. They allow the natural flow of the moment to physically pump up their chest with that combustible fire that is oxygen.
    Again, you agree in theory, yet you call these things useless.
    A hitter is useless without a bat.

    There is no pretense. A closer closes and a starter starts. They each have different ways and each thinks their way is the best way, as it should be. Except that we know the starters way only works because he is allowed to be isolated, he is allowed special status, he is allowed to only pitch once a week. The starter is entitled and pampered.
    Not the closer.
    When a closer starts to think like a starter then the shit hits the fan. The starters way does not work in the realities of the everyday game.
    If a starter fucks up he has the closer and his 'useless optimism' to save him.
    But when the closer gets in trouble he can never be saved. You cannot save the incorrigible, you cannot save what does not want to be saved, you cannot save what does not even recognize that he needs salvation.
    So you understand why the closer has to by definition be a positive. On his shoulders rests the psyche of those that are weaker on the team.
    Imagine if your closer was a headcase like Kershaw is?
    You can live with a starter like that.
    If your closer is like that then the entire team suffers.
    So is the closer superior?
    No. If you ask 100 closers you will be hard pressed to find the one that says yes.
    Now ask a starting pitcher...

    Hell no, i'm even thinking twice of parking at the beach.
    Next time im just driving to the mall, parking my car, and taking an uber or the bus to the beach.
    I never gave a dime to McCourt and im not about to give these fucks a dime.
    Unless they win the WS this year, maybe ill go ato a game next year.

    As a veteran pitcher Hill has the last say on what pitch is thrown. Hill said after the game he agreed with the pitch selection and that he didn't execute the pitch (no shit).

    Trading either is too premature. Seager for injury reasons obviously but Belli because he still has time to get better I firmly believe it. Sophomore slump is a term for a reason. I think the arm talent is within but it'll depend on who is available from other bad teams, without doing research Mets pitchers Thor and DeGrom I think should be acquired using the farm. Mets HAVE to eventually come around to the idea but that won't be until next season. We need to start winning NOW or we could miss the playoffs!!!!
