Great win but how the fuck is Pedro Baez still a thing? The guy is the fucking definition of a loser. Why can't he suffer a career ending injury?

Maybe the new big city is kicking his ass.
Looks weak at the plate. Maybe he ate some bad tuna or something.
Im sure he will bounce back, the dude is obviously one of the top players in the game.

Ferguson pitched well, too. Both hits he gave up were bloops. Hard to believe I saw him pitch in the Cal League a year ago.

Amazing, our closer basically can’t pitch against a division rival that’s a genuinely major threat. It’s gotta be psychological at this point as well, so even if they medicate him to control the heartbeat he’ll be thinking about it and nothing else on the mound. Typical bizarre Achilles heel shit that’ll rear its head sooner or later.

Of course Alanna Rizzo couldn’t just report the information, she had to put it as “under the weather”. Nobody better correct her, her finger’s hovering over the block button!

    2B: Dozier
    SS: Machado
    3B: Turner
    LF: Kemp
    1B: Bellinger
    C : Grandal
    CF: Joc
    RF: Puig
Bench: Muncy, Taylor, Kike, Utley, Catcher

I think this lineup works very well as the main lineup.
With Taylor and Muncy being the two main backups, platooners and pinch hitters.

Kind of surprised I thought that news on Kenley was somewhat more severe

    AUGUST BELLINGER
    Quietly, Belli since the calendar flipped to August: .385/.484/.654 - 1.138 OPS - 2 HRs - 3 stolen bases - 5 walks - 6 strikeouts
They must have sent him back in time instead of down to AAA
Hopefully his strength training this past offseason can help him finish up strong here

Its really not the simple. They can try to stabilize the beat, but it's not a guarantee. He may need a procedure (ablation, etc.). I say possibly.
If he does, he won't necessarily have to retire or anything, but it won't be that immediate return to action we want.
Doesn't always happen with just medication. As FSU wrote, we could be in deep shit.

Deep shit indeed unless they can get some extraordinary starting pitching or that they can outslug the Rox.

Better safe than sorry. I’d roll with Maeda as the closer for the time being.

Good thing Colletti fucked off because you know Axford would be first in line.

Not a bad idea, hadn’t thought of that. Let him start tonight and go with Alexander through the weekend and then move him back there

@dodgers manager Dave Roberts says closer vacancy is "Petey's job to lose" according to David Vasseh. #Dodgers #FML

Kenta has been so good i think it would be a mistake to move him from his SP role but we have to do something
is Cingrani any closer to coming back?

With what we have, if a closer had to be gleaned from that group, it would be a crap shoot. Maybe Ferguson. Maybe.
The only one who, imo, from the roster, has closer type fastball is Buehler, but the SP situation needs him badly.
We are in a dogfight obviously, so there's no games ahead cushion that gives us the opportunity to try someone else for the remainder who might work.
It looks every game and series will be max effort, down to the wire trench warfare.
Hopefully, this is all premature, and it's a tempest in teapot.
But, let's face it, there's some smoke here...
    You really think so?
obviously you do, but I think he has been no more than meh average his last couple of outings. He crashes and burns after the fifth inning, so closing may be the answer.
Who knows? Things just turned somewhat bleaker for the Dodger faithful, methinks.

    Petey???? Petey who? Baez?
    The dog from Little Rascals?
He's got to be kidding, no?
If he's not, then no other evidence needs to be shown for immediate commitment to a mental institution.
    A mockery.
