Stetson Allie has been promoted to AAA and is making his first appearance. Hit triple digits in his first inning of work. He was bad to start the season with Rancho, but had a solid 11 game stint with Tulsa. Good first inning, but walked a couple in his second before getting pulled. From what I remember, he doesn’t do great after sitting.

So there's Allie and Gonsolin both topping out @ 100
They have to be better than Baez

The problem is that Allie still has no idea where it is going

Lux homered and added a couple of singles in his debut. Smith went hitless in his.

Of those three you mentioned, even though he chokes with the best of them, it would be difficult to replace Jansen with a guy who ultimately finishes with Jansen's overall numbers...not so easy to find.
Kershaw is a huge conundrum, as his numbers are as opposite ends of the spectrum individually His post numbers may decide, and what he's looking for individually.
Turner, his age and difficulty staying on the field this year, may get him a trade, but that will be an emotional move, to say the least.
Fascinating to think about, and considering the ageists here, trading all of them, or one or two, will most likely be supported. The post, should we get there, might be the all important factor in the end.
On all of them, but least of all, Jansen, imo.

Not I, IMO it will disrupt chemistry if we get rid of all the old guys.
Imagine if we did that in real life?
One of the worst aspects of our culture is the old folks home.
That should be for old folks with no family, no friends, no nothing.
Or for rich assholes who don't want any family, no friends, no nothing, but just want to die miserably in peace.

Yeah...with these three guys mentioned, the emotional blow would be devastating to many, in spite of the tactical advantages that could come from the return of any such moves
But when things like this are on the not so distant horizon perhaps, I can't help thinking that this organization traded away an American iconic piece of the struggles for civil rights, and an individual that made the Dodgers themselves iconic, Jackie Robinson, to the pos Giants.
And it just wakes you up to the icy savagery of what business can bring at times.

In a recent interview, Keith Law said that Gavin Lux is a potential All Star at SS. A lot of folks think he has turned himself into a monster. That is the thing about northern players, they usually can be VERY boom or bust. Since their seasons are generally shorter, they are a bit behind in development, but if they pick things and adjust, they become legit studs. He hasn't skipped a beat since the move to Tulsa where he is slashing .339/.413/.518 with 3 HR's in 15 games. Better/nearly identical numbers across the board from his time with the quakes with the same ground out/ fly out rate of .79.

Dodgers were also rated one of the top 3 teams in baseball in terms of development ability, which I would generally agree with.

    - Does not appear that Dustin May will surpass his 134 IP from last season, he currently sits at 114, so he could be heading to the AFL.
    - The DJ Peters light is really dimming. 23 Bombs on the year, but K'ing 35% of the time
    - Will Smith has been a mess since moving to AAA, 6-47, 1 BB, 22 K's
    - Keibert Ruiz has FINALLY picked things up here in August. Not a bad year as it stands for the just recently turned 20 year old catcher. Already has hit more HR's than he ever had before, has an impressively low K rate of 8% that he matches with nearly as many walks. Is going to have to improve from the right side where is mechanics are said to be a little too tight.
    - Alex Verdugo has fucking raked all year in AAA and looked much more comfortable in his last go through with the big club. Strike outs have seen a slight uptick(13% from 10%) as he has made adjustments to hit the ball in the air and is attempting to ambush pitchers more early on in counts than he has in the past. Crushed lefties this year which is another great adjustment. No use spending any more time in AAA, he is big league ready and could be taking everyday duties in LF the second rosters expand.
    - Jeren Kendall is a mess still, but the attributes that have made him such an enticing prospect are still there. Word has long been that the team is reworking his swing, but since they had so much to do, it sounds like they are letting him get comfortable with pieces of a proper swing before making the next changes. It is a slow process, but their are some that believe we could see a different player in 2019.... time will tell.
    - Yadier Alvarez started his last game after an 8 game stretch that included extended relief appearances. Seemed to be doing well in his 1-2 inning stints, but he his back to throwing the ball with no idea where it is going.
    - Edwin Rios has put together some decent numbers, but his big time power has been pretty absent and his free swinging ways has led to a scary high 34% K rate for that little pop. He may need a healthy offseason and to show that he still has that 30 HR bat in their, or his bubbly may have popped.
    - Tony Gonsolin has gone from a guy mowing down dudes in HiA to one who now mows them down in AA. His starts are looking like they are getting cut short as he is way over last seasons numbers, but the move to the higher level has seen no drop in production. From what I have been told, he simply overpowers guys, but if that was the case, AA would have been a bit more daunting than it has been.
    - Stetson Allie is one of the guys that many folks pinned as a potential for the pen in September. Since joining the Dodgers(AAA) he has given up 1 HR and 2 hits over 6.2 IP in 7 appearances. He has walked 4(came over his first two games) and K'd only 5 which is not great for someone that gets more than 2 fly balls for every ground ball. In my talks with folks that have seen him throw for OKC. His fastball regularly works in the triple digits and since moving up to AAA, they have tried to work in his breaking pitch better which has been matched with an improvement with his locating. If the switch has been flipped, this is the guy that could add significant depth to a disaster of a bullpen. Other than that, we are really praying for the shoulders of Santana and Urias.

Missed this, but Jordan Sheffield has returned to Rancho after missing 3 months. Has been working out of the pen in 4 outings thus far. He is viewed as someone with closer upside, but still has a ways to go with his control.

Not a bad year from the MiLB affiliates:
    AZL Team- Won Championship
Rookie Ogden Raptors- First Half Winner/.5 out for 2nd Half. Made Playoffs
    LoA GL Loons- Made Playoffs
HiA RC Quakes- 1st Half & 2nd Half Division Champs. Set franchise record for wins in a season last week. Made Playoffs.
AA Tulsa Drillers- 2nd Half Divison Champs. Made Playoffs.
AAA OKC Dodgers- .5 behind 1st. Play them in double header tomorrow for division crown.

I’m never going to boast about an MiLB championship team, but this is an impressive display throughout the franchise. The Dodgers system is loaded with some intriguing talent and they’re known for challenging guys at the lower ranks. For that to be going on AND every team is still on the cusp of a playoff berth, that’s a good sign for the future.

OKC won 4 straight elimination games against 1st place Colorado Springs in two days to go from down 3.5, to winning the division by .5. Every stateside affiliate is in their postseason. The Dodgers have two DSL teams and are leaning towards getting their better spects here sooner which kinda makes things a bit tougher to pull off within the whole system.

DJ Peters for the second year in a row went on an absolute tear to end the season. Only this time, it does not sound like people are going to be falling for it like they did last year. Overall numbers are down a good bit(.040-.050 across the board which equated to a .793 OPS), he was able to go on HR spree the last week that brought his totals up to 29 for the season. Strikeout issues are still terrifying as he put up a 36% K rate even after he said that priority #1 in the offseason was to reduce that number. He is still going to be well regarded since he is a good defensive center fielder, but he is trending in the direction of a the type of player that frankly, I am tired of seeing.
