Garvey was not yes but he couldn't throw very well which could be what Corey may become we don't know but when I say it worked for Garvey he's a borderline HOF'er. Remember too though this is a move in a 0.00% chance that Manny is re-signed and my solution to keeping JT at 3rd and Manny at SS. They can work it out once the miracle of Manny being back happens.

You're assuming Puig is back which I highly doubt. FYI: Muncy has seen time at 2nd and 3rd and when Doze is gone 2nd becomes open. Hacing said that I LOVE Muncy but can we expect him to be this good next year?

I have a feeling he's the left handed Taylor, just with way more pop. Good for a spot start.

You really like Lux lol, he’s like a 50 grade prospect by all accounts.

I’d want to keep those 5. If that’s not possible I think you take a long hard look at dealing Cody, but more realistically yeah Muncy is the odd man out between them. Taylor has value because he can play anywhere and Verdugo a 6 years of control is probably a good move to keep

I realize that, but there is still a history between these two teams and you never know what kind of bullshit someone may day do after something like this happens.

Did you follow Lux this season? He took a hell of a step, I imagine his grade will be altered soon.
The Los Angeles Dodgers' minor league player of the year, Cal league all star, 1st team MiLB all star, kicking ass in Tulsa AA and in the playoffs

Deal the most athletically gifted, best defensive player on the team. Obviously, he's had a down year/soph slump offensively, but he's still at about a 120 wRC+ and been above average. I mean, of all their best players, Belli is the one who's gotten out there everyday this year..Seager and Turner dealing with their many health related issues. Definitely would expect Muncy to draw the short straw here.

In theory, Taylor can play anywhere, but where is really any good? I mean, I get it, he's bad to average at a lot of spots and can fill in, but considering the caliber of defense you get when he does fill in, his bat has to play to get the win. Verdugo I like, offers a different approach offensively, though the pieces around him have to fill in to make up for what he lacks in the corner. If we keep Belli in CF and get SLG and pop from that position, Verdugo should be a go in LF or RF.

Bellinger is great, but he’d bring a massive return and I don’t think his upside is that much higher than Muncy if they’re both 1B, and Bellinger would bring back much more. As a CF, if that’s their plan and he can hit there, I wouldn’t dream of moving him.

Damn right he'd bring a massive return. He's good. We should keep the good, young players. The era where you have a core of four to five 30+ year olds winning WS is over, the steroid witch hunt killed it. We need 24-28 year olds that can bring it.

But here's the real thing about Belli bringing much more than Muncy would in a trade..Dodgers don't need a lot. Lol

If you think over the next 3-4 years that Muncy has similar value to Bellinger yet think Bellinger brings back way more, that’s my point, then I’d explore it.

Just so we’re clear, do you think Bellinger has Seager/Machado upside? What do you see Bellinger’s true talent level as, versus Muncy’s? Genuinely curious.

Yeah I'm not going to bet on Muncy keeping this up, but that aside, Dodgers don't need the big haul that Belli would bring. That was my point at the end there. The Giants could use a big haul of specs to liven up their system, but the Dodgers are pretty well off and don't need to go to those measures.

I think Belli will ultimately live somewhere between .840 and .875 OPS, around 30HRs, and could potentially win gold gloves at multiple positions - OF and IF.
The trade haul you would expect to get from a Machado or Seager trade, if they're both under control for multi years, wouldn't be a ton greater than what you'd get in return for Belli.
As for Muncy VS Belli, talent wise, value wise..sort of answered above. Even if we operate under the assumption that Muncy is going to continue to hit well, he's not playing 1B as well as Belli and then of course Belli is probably going to be gold glove caliber in the OF as well at some point..and then Belli is 5 years younger.
All told, Muncy is rising right now, but if we're being reasonable and not expecting him to be the next Turner because they don't just fall off of trees..Belli's physical decline is much further off than Muncy's..which sort of goes back to needing talented guys in the 24-28 age range in this era.
Muncy's leaving Bill James' physical prime point and Belli will just be entering it next season.
It's not even a question for me.

Straw man? I thought this was a discussion, when did it become an argument? Or maybe it is and it wasn't brought to my attention. Thought I answered your questions well enough there. I go further and because it's more than what you wanted, it's straw man?

Did you check up on Lux's year?

What would have to happen for you to gladly watch some Muncy at 2B? Him doubling? :D

Entering this past season, yes that is where he was at after a really rough 2017. I would be shocked entering next season if he is not a 55 and the clubs #2 after Verdugo as reports on him are incredibly high. The only real knock on him is that he is probably not a SS anymore as his throws from there are rough, but he does everything else well enough that he COULD stay at the position. By many accounts though, he has a really good shot of being a star level 2B. Keith Law (and he is a tough nut to crack) says he's an All Star at SS in his opinion, so take that for what it is worth. Still he was fantastic even after the move to AA and was said to be one of the team leaders in their run to the championship. Not saying that he is the second coming, but many of the things that I have read about him are that we are going to be really happy that the club held on to him.

I would not be shocked if Kapler is back with the org after this season. Watching the Phillies tonight and that team has totally quit on him. Dude is probably not cut out to be a coach.

Their players aren't that good. They way overachieved the majority of the year.

"We broke the story ... LAPD got video footage of the suspects breaking into Puig's home after one of them kicked the front door open"

Not sure how you make this kind of money and have a front door that can be kicked open. I guess the cops are "stepping it up", how about Puig skips the next blinged out jesus piece or $12k pair of limited jordans and gets some security of his own
