About damn time. No reason for him to be shooting below 70% from the free throw line. That said, he was great tonight. Both Zo and Rondo on the bench to close it out, looked like a pretty good unit with Hart/BI/Kuz/LeBron/Chandler
Hard to say, but the Lakers would definitely be giving up a sizable portion of next year's cap space since he's under contract for 2 more years @ like 28MM per. They may prefer a Jimmy Butler since he'd opt out after the season and give them flexibility to go after Durant/Kawhi/Klay. Another Beal type of option that nobody is talking about because he just signed a deal is Devin Booker. Booker has long been unhappy in PHX and LeBron and PHX's GM James Jones are close. LeBron basically called in a favor to get Chandler bought out and with LAL, it's already been reported. If LAL is willing to part with Ingram/Zo and draft picks, I can't imagine James Jones not having any interest at all in a Booker swap. But Booker's 30MM a year extension begins next season, so another hit to LAL's cap space
I'd much rather just wait it out til next offseason. Sign our guy and trade for somebody else if need be. Beal or Booker aren't worth losing BI/Zo and missing out on Kawhi/Durant/Klay. Only Davis is worh it.
Lakers probably end up with the following team. PG: Lonzo, Rose, Caruso SG: Hart, Lance, Bonga SF: LeBron, Svi PF: ADavis, Kuzma, Beasley C : Javale, Chandler, Williams Losing Ingram, Wagner, Rondo, KCP, Zubac, 1st rounder, 2nd rounder. Getting: Anthony Davis, Derrick Rose All offensive lineup: Rose, Lance, LeBron, Kuzma, Davis
Great deal for both teams. Wolves don't attract FA easily so getting these two under control players who are solid B level guys for Butler is good. Hopefully they trade Rose to us for KCP, and a future second rounder. It finally allows Wiggins to play his natural position at SG where he has been blocked for years. He is not tough enough for SF nor a good shooter enough for SG but SG is where he can be the most effective. Might be a similar issue with Ingram actually. PG: Jeff Teague SG: Andrew Wiggins SF: Robert Covington PF: Dario Saric C : Karl Towns That is a nice team. Teague and Covington are tough versatile defenders while Wiggins and Saric are scorers around their superstar Towns. Veterans Taj Gibson and D Rose off the bench make them a possible late season challenger.
PG: Markelle Fulz SG: JJ Reddick SF: Jimmy Butler PF: Ben Simmons PF: Joel Embiid They need a PF so Simmons can stick to his strengths at PG.
Wait, you have Simmons at PF along with Embiid. Markelle Fultz at PG? Dude needs a brain replacement at this point.
Wolves look like the winner for sure right now considering the situation they were in. Hopefully he leaves Philly after the season. Fuck
