    That's it, huh?..
Thanks. Anyway the Green Book is a damn good traditional type film with superb players.
I realize how much I miss that type of film after seeing it...
Marilyn was a cutie though, wasn't she? Great uh...face.

The film has elements and similarities of other films, I'm sure you'll recognize on watching it.
But the unique characterization of the leads makes it new and fresh.

Microsoft is begging you to stop using Internet Explorer
The company is encouraging businesses to move to a modern browser
by AJ Dellinger | EnGadget — 3 hours ago

Old habits die hard, but they do eventually have to die. Microsoft knows there are still plenty of businesses and organizations out there using Internet Explorer because the outdated browser supports legacy web apps, but the company is asking people to finally let go of their old ways and to embrace a modern browser.

In a blog post, Microsoft senior cybersecurity architect Chris Jackson said continuing to use Internet Explorer is racking up companies a ton of "technical debt." Essentially, by continuing to use IE, organizations are creating additional costs down the line by selecting the easiest, most convenient solution now rather than the approach that is best for the long term. Jackson laid out a scenario in which a company, choosing the easiest possible route since Internet Explorer 6, goes to make a webpage today and ends up using a 1999 implementation of web standards by default.

Microsoft has tried to limit the technical debt accrued when using IE, including creating an Enterprise Mode for the browser back in 2014. Enterprise Mode lets websites render as they would in previous verisons of IE to avoid compatibility issues with old web apps. However, the best way to make sure you're not falling behind is by switching to a modern browser. Microsoft killed support for IE 8, 9 and 10 in 2016. Most developers don't test for compatibility with IE because most people don't use it. It might be convenient to run old apps in IE, but it's safer, smarter and better long term to move to a modern browser.

    • Just weeks after the partial government shutdown, Hillary Clinton had nothing but praise for the woman who helped to end it: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.). In a message to this year’s MAKERS Conference, a gathering held to advance the women’s movement, the former secretary of state and 2016 Democratic presidential nominee said that Pelosi was proof "it often takes a woman to get the job done."
    really?

Boys stop to recite Pledge of Allegiance as flag is raised at fire department
by Hope Schreiber | Yahoo Lifestyle — February 11, 2019
    [IMG]
Two young people took the time to stop playing and recite the Pledge of Allegiance as a flag was raised at Roseboro Fire Department in North Carolina — and now the moment is going viral.

The photo, which was shared on Friday by the Roseboro Fire Department, shows two boys who stopped at an intersection in their town with their hands over their hearts, as Chaplain Bobby Herring was raising the U.S. flag.

“This afternoon as Chaplain Herring was raising the U.S. flag to full staff, he looked over to the intersection and saw these two young people standing there with hands on their heart saying the pledge of allegiance,” the post read. “God bless our community.”

The boys, who according to Raleigh, N.C., news station WRAL are cousins, were riding their scooter and hoverboard, respectively, when they noticed the flag being raised.

The original post has been shared nearly 3,000 times and received a number of heartwarming comments.

Roseboro Fire Department identified the boys on Monday as Derrick Tyrone Ingram Jr. and Thomas Edwards Jones Jr., the Charlotte Observer reported, and their act has left their family proud. “My son and my nephew,” Ladii J Ingram shared on the Facebook post. When told she should be proud of her son and nephew, she responded, “I am, this made my whole day.” Others heaped on praise, writing, “Thank you for instilling respect in your young men!”

“Their response was taught, and taught well,” posted one person. “Please congratulate these young men for the respect they showed our great flag and our great nation. They are setting the example for others to follow.”

“The fact that they stood there showing respect without being prompted to do so says a lot about how they are being raised, another wrote on the fire department’s Facebook post.

Ms. Ingram did not immediately respond to Yahoo Lifestyle’s requests for comment.

^^^^^^A rarity, indeed. And Roseboro. Something cool about the name, too.
    Well done, boyos.

random day train of thought about a trip to costco
anyone who finds themselves in this store on a regular basis has a plan of attack and sometimes it works and others not
sort of depends on the timing and flow of other customers in how it turns out
i always try to approach it w the best attitude possible and when i lost out on a potential parking spot in the outskirts of the lot i waved at the winner and went in
i found myself in competition for a really close spot that i never try for, i mean its mine but i see a bitch lurking and we've all been there
love it when the person in the spot knows who was first and turns the car so you have to only true shot at landing it, and thats exactly what happened
realized my blood pressure had increased during this event and checked myself
was totally on point using my back aisles and having a plan and then...the store had clearly shuffled the locations of store staples
ever notice its not the fast paced or slow paced shoppers that fuck everything up but those asshats that just oblique in front of everyone like they dropped lsd?
no shame in just pulling your shit over and figuring out your next move same as traffic
but here you to get to see the moron up close and appreciate their complete lack of concern w the rest of humanity
so i make my way and locate everything i had requests for and that includes school, house, mom and gf
in fact everything even fits perfectly in the cart (codes up of course) and i quickly pass to the right lanes and i'm out the door
as soon as i break the door a black kid working there asks me to bring my car up to the front of the store
"why would i do that i'm parked right over there"
"well we need you here and trying to...unintelligble"
i just laughed and said" i'm not sure what the score is here but i'm going to take my things to my car"
"didn't you ask for help to your car?" as i'm walking away
"uh no" and now we are both laughing as well as a few other people in the area
load the trunk and my true tetris training again comes in handy
on the drive home the flow was strong and i almost felt like the people i was driving around were kindred spirits
slide into the yard get mom her supplies, toss the school stuff in admins car, get the house stuff chilling, and doggers fed
did i mention i found cheese blintz's that made mom's day?
hit the road, grabbed a bottle or rum, and pulled up to my favorite spot in Winnetka
thinking a jacuzzi might be good about now seeing as its way too fucking cold
    yes i get high

    truly homo lol
and then i see my gf's 12 year old kid and ask her about having the day off today
she goes to lausd public school and is a straight A sponge of information but has not a clue as to why she isn't in class monday
not one teacher talked to her about presidents day
its way past not teaching civics, they ignore our very history and traditions now
a new student in this country is not even being taught the basics of who we are as a nation
i find that especially revolting and telling when it comes to how little kids understand what is actually going on around us
how can you make good choices w no knowledge of our history?
i will be dropping her to school tomorrow and i am going straight to the admin for an answer as to how this is even possible
at my montessori we talk about the presidents to two year olds ffs
