was watching some old twilight zones just to see if i missed any
one i'm sure i had missed was season 5 episode 22, a piece called occurrence at owl creek bridge
Rod gives a narrative about the piece and how its from a different country iirc
not many words just a crazy tale
if you were ever a fan i'd be curious if you saw this one

watched "the cove" on the slaughter of dolphins and whales
i knew about the whales like we all did but had no idea how Japan see's things in regards to dolphins
the view them as competition for food and ultimately pests
this group, led by a guy that worked w the original flipper show, manage to get covert footage of whats going on
i know its 10 years old but i felt like i did watching elephants slaughtered for human reasons
i doubt much has changed in the last 10 years since its pretty hard to control what other countries do
really makes me sick inside and the last 20 minutes of covert footage has to make anyone sick

[QUOTE="LAdiablo, post since its pretty hard to control what other countries do

It sure is...actually, if we did a 180° on global warming here in the US, what could we possibly do to countries like China and India and their part in it all? Is the Pontius Pilate "handwashing" enough to do anything of importance in the grand scheme of things?
To me, it's the same with animals rights. We can be as we should be, and respect all animals as fellow residents of our earth...but if the Japanese don't feel that way, what can we do? It's not like they aren't aware of how we feel about it...they simply say " fuck you". Basically. It continues on and on.
    And that's.that.

i really thought it wasn't shot in his style at all
should have gone back and listened to his narrative in the beginning but i was just captivated immediately and couldn't stop watching
truly stands out as a work of art and was the nugget i was looking for when i decided to skim through the original seasons

instantly incredible visual art in the first two minutes
would love to share this w mom (96 remember) do you think it would be appropriate?
i think there's a lot of hot sex stuff right?
unless the filming remains remarkable and the story is devastating i'll lose her

ty i was looking at that 9.5 and all the glowing things being said by virtually everyone and wondering if i would be let down
watched only a few minutes thinking visually it was glorious and wanting to share it but no way mom and i are watching it together
your review is likely going to match mine but i'll give it a shot anyway
don't really need gratuitous sex scenes either and if the stories aren't strong i'm going to lose interest as well

The gratuitous sex and the ultra violence make GOT one of the worst series in TV history.

I can't fucking wait until it returns.

i agree w most of this and actually didn't make it through the first episode
i know i'm in the minority since its 9.5 but its not the first time that happened
the girl is beautiful for sure but a swashbuckling dwarf is pretty far fetched as well, especially in those times
oh and please don't mention walking dead and breaking bad in the same sentence lol
walking dead is one of the lamest shows in history without the zombies and bb was a masterpiece

    GRRM is an insufferable blowhard.
He's written some really good short fiction and single episode television. But the GOT books are tedious and overrated.

Really? A book every 5-10 years filled 200 pages a of soft core porn, 100 pages of descriptions of the food people ate at a feast and another 100 pages describing the color of some unnamed knights armor. He is in desperate need of an editor.

The material is one of the rare cases of literature that's actually better on television...it's essentially a couple hundred pages of screenplay with 10000 pages of fluff.

And he looks like Michael Moore..that's what you get when you're from Bayonne, NJ.
Don't exactly know what a chess snob is. Or what they do or say to earn that description. Win a lot at it?
Only play on expensive, hand crafted chessboards? Pen pal with Boris Spasky?
