Well, Joc had a Wrc+ of 136 last season against RHP and continues to mash them so it's tough not to start him against RHP.

I think Verdugo adds valuable traits to the lineup, though (contact, discipline, consistency), and I hope he is handed the keys soon. To facilitate this, Bellinger goes back to 1B on most nights and either Kike or Muncy will have to take a seat. If Muncy performs as he did in 2018, Kike will have to surrender 2B to Max.

Kike would still get plenty of playing time. He could play LF for Joc against LHP, fill in when Seager is resting, be a late inning defensive substitution, pinch hit, etc.

Oh, I know. I wasn't just speaking to his on field performance and theatrics. He had a chance to become a leader, a guy his teammates enjoy having around as well. But by most accounts, they couldn't stand all the attention whoring..which was probably his goal today as well. " Puig loses his shit " is sort of the headline right now..his drug of choice

Idk. I know jocs off to a great start but I don’t think he’s gonna keep it going and would rather have someone who could be more consistent throughout the season.

I think I may have found the source of at least one of Puig's idiotsynchrasies...watching " The Big Lebowski" and there is a scene at the bowling alley when Jesus, in his purple jumpsuit, holds up the ball in front of him...and tongues it before the approach and roll...
Yasiel was probably looking at this one day, and thought to himself, " mang, dat's cool...I'm going to start leeking da bat tomorrow. "
    The rest is history.
    Thank you.

Dodgers' crowded outfield has got to be the longest standing issue in baseball

Despite a blip on the radar screen yesterday, I hope Yimi joins him in OKC soon.

Very well said. My feelings exactly. Puig will forever be a story of what could have been. Good riddance.

And Joc in over Verdugo. I'm just grateful he didn't force Taylor into the lineup.

no rhyme or reason to roberts stupidity
forgot about verdugo... keeping him out of the lineup after his big game yesterday is not only asinine but sends the wrong message
verdugo probably thinking wtf do i have to do to get in the lineup?

It does send a bad message. The only explanation would be if Alex did something to ruffle feathers, but I seriously doubt it. More likely just Roberts being an idiot.

Can understand if they want to be proactive and pace Muncy this year. His tank hit E in late July/early-mid August last season. About a 20 game stretch of putridness at the plate. 1st full season on the major league level with a major workload at 27/28 years old. Pretty OK with just making sure he gets through the season without hitting the wall at the wrong time.

But Verdugo certainly needs the work and what's being done to him is awful. Although, Verdugo's definitely had his issues hitting the wall late in seasons as well, so maybe walking him through this season is all a part of their strategy? " Baby steps ". Can't remember Verdugo finishing strong in the minors at all. Still think he should get every inning in LF when Joc is down. Of course, when Pollock gets hurt at some point none of this will matter

Good point on easing Verdugo in to not have him crash at the end. We’ve seen with postseason failures of Berlinger and Seager how successful rookie campaigns can end with tired bats.
