They might have the #1 pick.
Durant + Kyrie + Zion. Pretty interesting team

Looks like David Griffin is the early favorite to take over @ prez. He spoke glowingly about the job and the pieces in place last night. Would be a pretty good hire.

Happy to see the trainer Nunez get fired today. Let's not go with cheap labor when health is a cornerstone to success.

They are all on the protect Jeannie company line. And when you have to do that you will lose a little bit of yourself.
She has been fucking up for years and barely was able to get the votes to fire her brother.
The Lakers are a trust with many owners and they want the Buss family to sell, they know its been a soap opera there for years.
Everyone protects her because she is the controlling shareholder.
She meddles in basketball operations but everyone keeps it off the media so she can always deflect any blame.
Linda Rambis is her best friend and she is the biggest supporter of Kobe's proxy Pelinka.
Pelinka is cool and a great agent who was too good of an agent to be liked by other GM's.
Imagine Scott Boras becoming the Dodgers GM, who would want to deal with us?
Everyone blames everyone else and nobody wants to be the bad guy in the org.
Magic has been taking the bad guy role and Pelinka has been washing his hands.
WOJ is too high up now to talk about this stuff, he has to protect his future sources.
    Most everything is Jeannie's fault.
Magic quit because he gets all the blame and now even fans are booing him.
He loves the Lakers and Jeannie but Jeannie compromised him.
He does not want to end up like Jerry West or worse yet exiled like Jim Buss in the eyes of fans and the organization.
Magic is a Laker for life and he would rather sacrifice himself to save the day and the love he the org and the fans have for each other.
Which he has. Now something can happen.
    This is a good day.
Luke, Pelinka and staffs... were all about to get fired and instead Magic fires himself so they can live.
Now everyone can be on the same page.
Jeannie was the owner and LeBron has no reason to listen to her other than she pays him, Luke will never be respected by LeBron who is his peer age wise and Pelinka is Kobe's proxy that LeBron is not going to respect because Pelinka is Kobe so Kobe would essentially be LeBrons boss in that way. That is why Magic was brought in to be the head. He was someone LeBron would respect at least somewhat. He could control Rich Paul, etc...
He was the middle man between team LeBron and team Lakers organization.
That just made people disrespect Pelinka even more.
Now its clear what the order is.
    Jeannie, Pelinka/Kobe, Walton, LeBron.
LeBron has to get on board with the order of things or there will be more drama where he tries to push out Walton and even Pelinka or asks for a trade.
He signed up to play for Magic, Magic recruited him, and now the Magic's gone.

Magic has set the order of who is who because LeBron and his team were stepping over Luke and Pelinka because Magic was there.
He has given the Lakers a lifesaver. Jeannie can clean house or by keeping Walton and Pelinka cement the chain of command that the rest of the team including LeBron will have to respect.

Demps is gone for letting his old issues with Pelinka get in the way of a trade for AD
Magic is gone and his current tampering charges from Pelican ownership and the League is done as a block to trade for AD.
Now its time for the NBA to fix the situation.
Ingram and Lonzo are injured and question marks due to health.
So the league needs to work this out so the Lakers trade Kuz, Hart, Wagner, and the 1st round pick for Davis.
Maybe hiring David Griffin as GM and promoting Pelinka to Magics old job.
Or pull the plug and trade LeBron to the Nets for D'Angelo and keep the lottery pick and bring back Randle.

    PG: Lonzo, Caruso
    SG: D'Angelo, Hart
    SF: Ingram, Lance
    PF: Kuzma, Zion
    C : Randle, Zubac

The Lakers need to be a family again.

Sometimes when you are a "family" business, this is a buzzword for a legacy, nepotistic organization. Whether you are qualified or not, it doesn't matter. I will give it to my children. I will rely on past loyalties.

Well, you should read King Lear or watch Ran. Good intentions are not enough. Even familiar relationships are not enough.

Major sports are a corporation. It is a business. The Lakers past success is.....well....in the past just like Nokia is not even mentioned between Android and iOS.

The Lakers need a full, top down BUSINESS decision, which means dedicated and disciplined behaviored decisions.

Not love ins, or legacy hug fests.

    Jeez, this sucks.

It's sad, but this is an opportunity to upgrade @ key positions in the FO. Really nothing more than that. But all LAL really needed to have had a better season was a little more luck.

If your best lineup involves Zo, Kuz, Ingram and LeBron, but these 4 players only play 23 games together out of 82 I'd say it's pretty obvious. Their record together this season was 15-8. But that's just to have had a better season this year..not an indication of a NBA title being in the group's future because kids don't win championships.

Marc Stein says LAL is targeting Bob Myers.
Gonna go ahead and try to pull him away from GSW.
Money talks. Put it where your mouth is, Jeanie

Looks like Luke will have a new gig with the Kings after their firing of Joerger.

Surprising firing but Vlade runs a weird ship

    In 7 years....
    Phil Jackson
    Mike Brown
    Bernie Bickerstaff (interim)
    Mike D'Antoni
    Byron Scott
    Luke Walton
    TBD

Scott and Luke both celebrated as home grown saviors. Maybe the organization is just shit?

its hard for people to realize that because if our history. We are in fact currently a bottom feeder organization.

when you look at the current longest playoff droughts and think we are now in the same class as the kings, suns and Knicks then well, it speaks for itself.

Jerry died and this franchise turned to shit. Those are the facts. With the kiddies in charge I doubt it turns around anytime soon.

First step magic gone, which is a good thing. It's time to clear house and start over. No pelinka, jo Walton etc etc.

I doubt they do that though.

i think Sr. was into the family thing and taking care of each other and that's what he passed on to the kids
they are trying to work the relationship thing in their own way but don't have nearly the savvy Jerry did
looking to Magic and Pelinka was her way of turning it back to tradition and family
i don't think Jerry would have ever considered turning over operations to Magic no matter how much he loved him
Sr's skillset and ability to assess talent in business was honed on 50 years of business at the highest levels
his kids skillset or lack thereof came from watching dad and that's not even close to the same thing

Watching Dad and absorbing what he taught them is one thing. Applying it is another.

Sr was a genius, but he had a serious weakness: he liked bimbos.
His kids are the result of dad liking pretty actresses.
    They got moms brains.

Wouldn't start counting those chickens just yet.
That said, these silly media heads are starting to call for Kobe to take over and he'd surely fire Luke's ass, has already fired him before in favor of Artest Lol
