    @huh?
Since we 'seem' to have made some form of loose peace from wildly different stances, I'd broach a touchy topic to state that I'm somewhat disappointed that the DSP right wing echo chamber has zero followers of Mohamed who care enough to defend their OR space. I guess the Dodgers are lucky in that way. Can you imagine if we drafted or traded for one? Holy cow
I personally do not think it is possible to defend Sharia law and all the other various inanities they worship but since there are over 1 billion of these folk I'd find it entertaining to hear their weak defense... all the while watching you load artillery shells..LOL

Why do 1 billion humans ascribe to this Islamic form of fable spouting?
Of course I remain thoroughly perplexed at why Mormons worship their oddly defined and impossible to defend OR at all.

It takes all kinds it seems

What can I say, i'm a protestant... rebel till the end I guess.
Its not that im like 'that money could be used to help poor people starving in africa' or something.
I hope its not a 'bottle of nard' type of thing.
Just not a fan of tradition. It sometimes upholds bad moves that are now cemented in stone.
Or in some cases wood. As more cultures join the group new traditions enter and paper over old ones.
That's always gonna happen. But what about the roots though?
Or who cares about the roots when the boughs are heavy with such golden fruits?
    Its a tough choice.
Fruits are so much tastier than roots.
    Which one is better?
Is it about your senses or something more evolved?
How did it end up for old king shlomo with all the wives and all the diplomatic embassies/temples?

Imagine if the church was a leaner more agile grassroots organization with no more than 3 levels of administration with smaller social outdoor venues of worship instead of a multi hierarchical imperium with castles and keeps worldwide?
Against the current and coming threats I mean.
Are we still fighting the good fight?
Or are our generals fat corrupt old money elite leftist Zadocs and holier than thou new rich conservative Pharsees cought with their pants down one too many times without the ability to mount a proper strategy for the winning of hearts and minds to God because they have been too busy feeding themselves for far too long?
Maybe. Maybe that was a way too huge of a sentence. I was dreaming when I wrote this.

    I know, i'm a dreamer.
'I'm not the only one' sounds like a menacing threat though.
Probably the kind of idea that got what's his name with the horns kicked down out of you know where.

Seventh Day Adventist organization is the other religious group that is right there at the top of charity, food, health, education, etc...
They also are the most pro abortion group that calls itself Christian.
Which is a HUGE L for the team.

luckily we don't have to worry about that right now Cap ;)
btw, we have had muslims in the past here, mods and guys who helped a lot back in the earlier days of DSP.
    im good with a muzzie
if you see a muslim dude and you ever think 'that guy might be a terrorist' other than jokingly of course... you are a toad.

Looking to agree.. and I do
Good question, and hard to answer though I'll agree that large swathes of our world appear further out of touch the more that we're 'in touch' with technology.
If that was a dream then it was a pretty insightful one
Yeah actually not.. at least to other dreamers.
We don't have to agree but I welcome seeing others 'trying' to envision a way forward better than the cluster we're in currently

I suppose this is a function of of how we're defining 'the team' isn't it?

A dose of humility is found to be good seasoning in most cases.
    Like tolerance and empathy

The old adage of walk a mile in a mans shoes applies frequently
myself personally I have enough of a hard time relating to Christians of many stripes
the best I can muster for Muslims is 'well they are devout'
which in my realm means more than one thing

Wow just wow. $131,114 set a new single day record and you got the impression that he could have done more. Just wow.
I watched the double jeopardy portion and was delighted to myself at being able to answer a few before he answered correctly, a modest W, and got lucky with the magazine initials category (worth literally nothing) but he barely declined to answer what once or twice? And he was never wrong. And then wagering $60,000 on Final Jeopardy!?! Why not he was so far ahead. And the end the family was all repeating..
    Wow just wow.

Still thinking wow. And setting up the DVR to record future episodes.

Ken Jennings has damp palms I'm certain. Wow. I heard you mention this yesterday but watching it was impressive. Wow.

This was not for you Cap. This was for the guys on this forum that have expressed knowledge of religious history. These references will not be in your wheelhouse.

I was talking about tradition in a religious PoV.
Tradition is why Jesus was killed.
When your tradition becomes as holy as your god then you kill for it.
Traditions are awesome and the best things in life.
    Except when they aren't.

I was not talking about being in touch with people or modernity/technology.

It was not a dream. It was an allusion. If you find a play on words its usually just for segway purposes.
I was talking about the two political sects during the lifetime of Jesus that dominated the culture in Palestine.
And how they are synonymous with the corrupt two party system we have in our current world.
Sadducees are the self righteous ones (bleeding hearts) and the Pharisees the purified ones (fundamentalists).
They both broke to the power of empire and were not able to put up a fight for their people.
They could not protect the circle.
Instead they were fronts aka empty vessels that could be compromised by the right bidder.
    Traitors to their own kike.
Kike means circle btw, which means church or cult.
Christians use a X to sign while Jews use a O.
    The O is a kike.
This is immigrant poor "little people" language.
They coming soon to a theater near you.

The dreamer bit was silly wordplay calling back to Lennon and how he broke up the band.
And the story of the fall in heaven.
Because someone always thinks they have a better plan than the plan.
You are not going to envision a way forward Cap.
Nor any of the shining ones.

They just played Pomona. I was zoinked out of my mind watching them. They were great and had mentioned they’d do something in LA later on

couple of things strike me as strange about this
one is that i love beer and literally never drink any of these
ok i have a Pabst every once in a while but thats just because my attorney is a faux hipster who thinks its ironic in a gastropub
the other is that Yuengling is the oldest operating brewer in the US and i've never even seen that in the stores!

This is a really low brow list of beers. I’m assuming they narrowed it down to “mass produced” beers.

In which case, they are all chuggable, but not very tasty.

Who the fuck puts PBR near best taste? That's what I get at concerts when I want to keep my buzz after pregaming. Rolling Rock and Miller High Life are alright though.

James is still rolling on Jeopardy. Never seen anything like it. Just absolutely brilliant.
Almost as smart as that guy on here...

The funny part is that more than one person is wondering if you are talking about him or the other guy.
Or vice versa and the other way around.
