This doesn't really have anything to do with this, but just in regards to how far that location is from Angels territory. I believe Scioscia lives not far up the road in Hidden Hills and commuted daily to Anaheim. That is mildly insane to me.

This whole thing is nothing more than sour grapes unless the Angels are wanting to use that as some negotiating platform until they build their new stadium. Which if that is the case, it would make some sense. They could say that they want to build their stadium there if Anaheim is not going to play ball(with no real intention to move there as that is a horrible location for another stadium), or could be thinking "well let us build (somewhere in LA County) without complaint and we will let you have your MiLB stadium in the valley. Otherwise, none of this shit makes sense and it is a whole bunch of BS.

Nick Punto and Skip Shumaker commuted from South OC (maybe San Clamente?) to Dodger Stadium every day.
Not for 20 years like Mike, though.

It's sour grapes and nothing more.
The Angels don't need the Dodgers to "let" them build in LA county. They are already allowed to do that.

That is crazy as well, but less so if they were living on the beach or something, since yeah that is worth it. Hidden Hills is nice, but if you are making a shit ton of money and having a daily commute to Anaheim, I could think of probably a whole lot of better places to live.

The Dodgers could always use their pull in town to make things difficult though. Since the Angels are not a true LA product, there would need to be a lot of new LA government red tape to deal with. I could see the Dodgers ownership saying, "Hey here's $10 M to your charity, draw this thing out a few years..."

Also, these counties out that way are too fucking big, good lord. LA and San Bernadino are like the size of some states.

    Perhaps.
I just think a city trying to attract a team has too much to lose by dragging something out.

I drove over 70 miles to the Temecula area every day for work for about 6-7 months. It was a pain, but not that bad.
Mike only had to do it roughly 90 times per year, all within a 6 month period.
And his drive was less than 60 miles.
Granted, the traffic conditions are different, as he was driving through the heart of the metro area...
...but he probably drove down at 10 AM which isn't as bad.
The drive home at midnight would be breezy and a good time to wind down.

I don't know where the majority of Angels players and coaching staff choose to live. Maybe Newport?

The team probably flies into Santa Ana.

    Grotesque?
    Help me out.
I want to be rah rah pro Team America: World Police but do we want to be at war with Iran, Russia, China, Venezuela, etc...?
Is her antiwar rhetoric what is grotesque?
I haven't really looked up what her deal is other than being a soldier who is anti war.

Trump just sent 1500 soldiers to Iraq/Iran border as a show of force.
A war with Iran it would create the next great worldwide jihad.
And Iran's allies will move to their strategic targets knowing that the US is busy.
If we wipe Iran from the map of Persia the barbarian Medes will rise again and they are all about taking over the world.
I don't trust the Europeans to remain allies when faced with the sword at their neck.
Nor do I trust any country governed by women, gays, metrosexuals, manchilds, men under 40, or childless men of any age.
Too many countries have these type of people in leadership. People more easily susceptible to the manipulation of their feelings.
I don't trust these countries to remain strong. I believe the type of thing that happened in France during WW2 will spread all over Europe this time.

    Wait, is she pro abortion?
