    Of course no addition can completely save us from the fact that there are current guys on the roster underperforming. That absolutely has to be fixed first and foremost.

    However, that alone would also not be enough.

    I only see two or three guys on the current roster capable of performing to the level we need. Floro and Baez off the top of my head should be okay. Cautiously optimistic.

    From there, you have to add a couple elite relievers. Otherwise, no championship.

    Jansen
    Floro
    Baez
    Maeda
    Stripling

    ...In October...those two additions absolutely make a difference in winning it all.

    Right when you're ready to give Kenley some props...

    The FB:HR ratio is terrifying. He serves meatballs every appearance. Maybe Taylor should have caught it, but it was a meatball hit to the wall nonetheless.

    Good start and finish to the inning, though.

    Kenley SHOULD age well considering his repertoire
    Hopefully his propensity to give up long fly balls and HRs is just a phase that can be remedied by a mechanical revelation

    But I'm not sure. I guess a guy can't be automatic his entire career.

    I'll be convinced Seager is completely back when he starts driving the ball to left-center.

    Don't need convincing about his surgically repaired elbow. He's making all the throws, including that great relay to the plate tonight.

    17 hits and only four extra base hits. Not exactly this team's usual MO.

    Only hope to salvage Kelly this year to send him to the minors and have his head surgically removed from his ass. If you can't bring him with a 5 run lead when can you bring him in?

    As painful as it would be to watch, I almost feel it would be good for the bullpen to blow like three straight leads that result in losses. Otherwise I see this FO getting complacent and thinking that the offense and starting pitching will pull us through the postseason. As it's structured right now, playoff teams would destroy this pen.

    Joc Pederson has been sent down, almost left off opening day and playoff rosters... hypothetically traded so many times...left off so many fantasy napkin lineups...

    It's not the milk.
    Cutting dairy is not bad for your performance. It helps with interior inflammation causing mucus and makes healing quicker.
    He has probably cut out red meat as well.
    And that is what is fucking him up.

    So glad ESPN and specifically Sutcliffe, isn't doing tonight's game.

    Typical ex-jock who shows up without doing much homework. Told us last night about Joc's "speed" and Kershaw's use of his changeup.

    Giant play by play guy was much more informative.

    I think this is the year the FO makes a trade for a reliever where we overpay a bit but get an elite guy. Last few years we’ve made a big splash for an elite rental pitcher or position player but I think this year they take a risky play on a reliever. Postseason bullpens are super different than regular season but I think overpaying for one elite guy and then doing their typical trade for an okay reliever they try to fix (Cingrani, Fields, Madson) could go a long way.

    Given our division, they have enough breathing room to wait til July to make fixes and spend that time seeing which relievers currently in the system can step up.

    Kimbrel won't be signed by ANYONE until a week after the draft which is June 3rd. The bullpen is a HUGH issue and it doesn't look like it's going to be good any sooner so I'm counting on it being addressed in August. Wonder how much Wil Smith will play, HOPING for him to start by Thursday when I go but with Walker pitching Wednesday I can see him starting then due to more familiarity.

    Draft pick compensation is gone after the draft. Only 1 deadline now yes and it's the 31st of Aug.
