He's there so he can get experience because once AJ comes back there will be one less outfield position available. I an absolutely GUARANTEE he won't be there once the playoffs begin.

This one is an L. Rockies series MUCH more important anyway.

I don't see Kershaw going to the ASG comedy-fest, and no way Joc deserves to go ahead of others.
And a tip of the cap to Cody for nixing the HR derby douchebaggery.
And uber douche Dyson shows our OF how they could have caught Escobar's first inning HR.
Might have been a different game for the kid, even with Keith Hernandez playing first and a lineup that doesn't seem to string shit together for runs any more.

If we were willing to let him pitch the 9th and offered enough money, he would have played here.

Was that actually the case though? Or just speculation?

...and make the guy who is 2nd or 3rd in saves in MLB that got a boatload of cash to do what?
close until Kimbrel rounds himself ( or doesn't) into shape?
then what? Tell him to back off when he is better statistically than 27 or 28 other ML closers ?
Just not a real life scenario.
    Here on earth, anyway.

I really don't give a shit about saves.
I just want as many great relievers as possible, and accommodating them in order of dominance.
I think Kimbrel is better than Jansen.
    All moot though.

pretty sure both were on record saying they would only accept a closing role though weren't they?

Yes. Kenley was on record saying he would only support Kimbrel's addition if he did not take his "closer" role.
Kimbrel's agent made it clear to teams that he would not sign unless he pitched the 9th.

Just my amateur opinion, but maybe next time Joc should ditch the prosthetic hands the next time he plays 1B.

chances are by the time he gets his act together he gets injured
and idt its shitting on Kenley to say he isn't exactly fooling many hitters
and that there should be other options to close such as Baez (so weird to say that)

I'd be very wary of taking Pedro out of his comfort zone as a setup man.

you know, that's a legitimate concern
when he was struggling you could see he didn't want to be out there
he's pretty steady now, not sure i'd want to fuck with his potentially fragile phyche

Meant to comment on it at the time, but his deal with Arenado last Sunday was classic.

Nothing but fastballs at the top or slightly above the top of the zone. Pedro was saying "come and get it, Nolan" and Arenado couldn't catch up.

Kind of a mini version of Reggie-Welch in the '78 Series.
