rip indeed the balls it took to write a tell all book back then... imagine he was ostracized from a lot of places
this is one of the more bizarre stories i've heard in a while https://www.thedailybeast.com/italian-missing-teen-emanuela-orlandi-is-not-in-vatican-tomb
Okay, completely off in left field. It seems there are a few contractors or experienced handy people on this board, so I thought I’d ask this question. I have a two story house. For some reason, the previous owner put an AC unit that only services the 2nd floor. There is no condenser for the 1st floor. That being said, we already have a thermostat on both the 1st and 2nd floor, there is ductwork on both the first and second floor, and we have a blower and furnace for both floors. The only thing missing is a condenser for the 1st floor. I’m looking for some ideas to add cooling to the 1st floor. What is the most cost effective method to do that? I’m assuming adding another another condenser would be the most expensive given the need to add a new platform, new electrical/panel connections, and permits (actually, I have no idea). I’ve also heard that splits are expensive. Any ideas my friends?
Looks like 3/4 of a million signed up to storm Area 51. Lol. Seems like a lot of people who listed to Bob Lazar on Joe Rogan are about to die. Pink mist everywhere.
Follow up story on Bouton. It's a good read. https://www.latimes.com/sports/mlb/...ce-ball-four-media-column-20190714-story.html
Disclaimer: I haven't read Ball Four, so no comment there. But what an oddly self-indulgent column. I was hoping to learn more about Jim Bouton and Ball Four. Instead I learned about Tom Hoffarth.
print media is on life support who wants to wait and read hours-old articles when they can get up-to-the-second news online? the la times has been going downhill for a long time -- and not just the sports section journalistic integrity no longer exists... the days of [reporters] getting two sources before going to print are long gone they need to compete with the national enquirer, er, tmz and other online charlatans
You're assuming that up to the second news is somewhat accurate. The quality print guys (and there are few these days) are forced to get into the mud with social media, cable news and blogger types. They used to be above that.
not assuming that at all quite the opposite, which is why i cited tmz the need to be accurate falls a distant second to being first
