He needs to be working on his craft somewhere other than MLB.

Looks nothing like the pitcher who first came up in 2017. Appears to have lost his confidence.

Minimal words about Kershaw and a well pitched game after the first. Kept them scoreless and gave 6 innings again. Guess the post season past will always be the thing that counts, which is in the books, can never be changed, and 9-2 is just not enough.
I'll take this kind of game any time by him, and I don't think he's going to work out of the bp any time soon, imo.
    But that's just me.
I think the "ace" of the staff thing is so important to so many, that Kershaw doesn't have that role anymore...where in reality, it's about as important what cologne he wears.
I guess it's just too bad for most, as 9 Ks and a 2.85 ERA will not take his starter role away.
Maybe he'll be benched by post season, should we get there.
    Pretty good chance we will.

Not a chance (injury aside). Not the ace by any means anymore, but I don't know of many better #3 options.

Check out Kersh's splits by inning. These numbers are ERA and WHIP. Crazy how it seems to always take him an inning to settle down. Also, he's allowed the most HRs in the first. You'd think as diligent as he is in prepping, he'd be more ready for the first. Is there some truth to the speculation that he gets too amped and needs an inning to let the adrenaline wane a little? Maybe the game day routine should include a pregame hummer from Ellen or something.

Or here's somewhat of a radical idea... On Kershaw days, utilize an "opener" reliever. Have CK pitch innings 2-8 ( since he can't seem to go more than seven). Bring in the closer for the ninth and call it a day. Maybe that way his nerves settle from the dugout during the first.

Definitely has legs as a theory, indeed.
But the "calming time" may only be physically related to have an effect.
If two runs is the big damage- no guaratee, of course - then it's still pretty damn OK, imo.

I'm all for trying to gain a competitive advantage and utilize our pitching staff to its optimal configuration, but Kershaw having an opener just isn't going to happen. And he's not likely to come out of the bullpen unless it's a deciding game with all hands on deck.

Never understood how she became so popular. Nothing personal, but she's never said anything that made me laugh and from the little I've seen her as an interviewer...meh.

Strasburg throwing hard. Gonna be a long afternoon

Well, just feels like a game where the offense will get shut down. Sweeps are hard I guess

Strasburg looking like he has his A+ stuff and command today. What a changeup.

I really don't think Seager's throw was weak...just controlled, accurate and there in good time.

That strike 3 curve to Smith was unfair.
