It’s such an under the radar poorly run organization. People blame Coors this and Coors that, but they still routinely fuck things up. Giving big money to Parra and Desmond, spending erratically on bullpen arms and seriously, HOW did they not acquire a 1B last season when teams were giving them away at the deadline?! Daniel Murphy could have been there’s for free and they passed. They will never fire their GM this soon as even O’Dowd was even a struggle to let go(then they just hired his protege). I always thought the Giants were gonna be wallowing in the gutter for the better part of the next decade, but the Rockies may be it. Plus, if they truly are shopping Blackmon now, I wonder how long before Arenado would snap.

 

But it's not like Arenado wasn't aware of the CO FO and the team's recent history. Even if their pitching was to come around to the hoped for level, he is out there every day and knows the Rox ebb and flow as an organization - mostly ebb. Did he think they would magically arise as champions ?
He doesn't appear to be a dunce, and went for the CO dollars, and could equaled what they gave him from another team, had he wanted.
The world was his oyster, ( read: Brinks truck), and his eyes were wide open.
