They've got this month to fix him, and that definitely is not enough time. Moreover, the team aspect of going into post season without an effective, trustworthy closer is recipe for the usual dismal outcome.
He was great once, but no longer. The Dodgers are well known for completely sucking the marrow out of multiple talented arms in the past, and Jansen joins the line.
The real problem is, although his slide was a progressive, relentless and all too apparent and stuck out like a sore thumb, nothing was done to come up with a plan B, or even try for a valid contingency. Nothing. Whether it was Robots or the FO, or a collusion of both, Jansen was stubbornly left to wilt. And wilt he has.
If giving up at least one run in 4 of his last six appearances is OK with them, then so be it.
The team chemistry, Jansen's ego, and Dave's butt patting and ignorant stance on a huge problem is gettting really so old now, and his belief that his droning public backing him up is going to magically will him back as he was, is folly and bad managing, not to mention baseball. Fairy tale shit.
They should have found someone who can do the job as needed, or at least, better than Jansen can, by now.

I was writing my post as you were yours, and smh at the cartoon logic he offers to the Dodger Faithful..
Not only is it shameful, it's purposely infuriating...and he doesn't give a fuck.
    Little toad.
    Sad, man.

FWIW Kenley said for the first time I can remember he’s “open to whatever, he just wants to fix himself” when asked about the closers role. So that was nice to hear.

he was booed lustily last night and that didn't feel right
the first part about getting things to turn around is admitting there's a problem
just give him some fifth and sixth inning appearances and set the tone
    closer by committee

Either he blows the game in the 5th or blows the game in the 9th.
The problem is not mental (although he is a noted headcase)...
... it is most likely physical and cannot be remedied by moving him to a different inning.
Sadly, he is probably our 2nd or 3rd best reliever statistically.
So he will have to pitch.
Just shows how bad this group of guys are and how screwed we are.

Other than Joc being on fire, we are incredibly lucky tonight. Chasing pitches nowhere near the plate, rolling over, and the ball is just finding the right spot. Cody went after a pitch a foot off the plate and Dairy Freegers hit was just another one of his lame ground balls.

Beaty and Turner swinging at whatever too

Nobody in the organization had the foresight to give Ryu additional rest.
Dude is toast against a real team with this stuff and decline in command

The big 3 all need a week off.
Let Gonsolin, May and Stripper get some innings.
