Berkeley is pretty cool. Second choice to Fresno St of course!

    • Atlanta Braves infielder Charlie Culberson was carted off the field Saturday after being hit in the face by a 91 MPH pitch from Washington Nationals reliever Fernando Rodney.

    https://sports.yahoo.com/giants-ace-madison-bumgarner-listed-002440830.html

I know I was the biggest Bumgarner supporter before the deadline, but I've since seen come to my senses. I still think Madbum could be an effective back end <homo starter for some other team, but I think it's pretty irresponsible to call him the 4th best Free Agent after Cole, Rendon and Strasburg.

Rich Hill threw a bullpen without incident and may find a way to pitch through it all. My guess is if he is forcing himself to play through an injury that killed a month + of his season already, then this could be Hill’s swan song. Cortisone shot before the game, pitch through it and try to win one final WS. We will see how the club goes about it, but 3-4 IP from Hill with another 2-3 of Gonsolin could be one hell of an interesting plan.

I love it! Could be our version of a bullpen game. Maybe have Julio and May ready to follow Tony G.

Here in Colorado, there is talk the Rockies may enter into a rebuild. Players have been openly critical of the FO and ownership group in recent months and there is frustration brewing as the Rockies organization is being viewed as one the most backwards and ineptly run teams in the sport. Apparently the Rockies owner and GM are against a lot of the newer trends and their game day preparation is a joke according to former players and new acquisitions. Their 3 stars are all lead by example guys and have no interest in being mentors to the young kids. The explosion by DJ LeMahieu after leaving and his reporting back to former teammates about just what a difference there is between the Yanks and Rox analytics departments have been a major factor of that frustration and also giving other teams the comfortability to say internally that they could be willing to pay up to acquire Arenado, Story or Blackmon from the club.

Another determining factor is the Rockies are considered to have one of the worst farm systems in baseball. This is also a growing frustration among the team’s stars as there is a good chance that every other NL West club will be a Top 10 farm entering next season with young star studded teams like the Dodgers and Padres leading the way. The franchise seems to be in a tailspin and there are no fun pieces on the way that seem to have the abilities to take them out of it.

With how stubborn Rockies ownership is, many are having a hard time seeing the club go through with a rebuild, but there are growing concerns that Nolan Arenado will be demanding a trade in the offseason. With a full no trade clause at his disposal, it will be interesting to see how that goes.

Mike Trout also now out for the remainder of the season. Angels have some soul searching to do. May have another star OF’er on the way, but they’ve still got a multitude of problems.

Olney is reporting that word is the Dodgers are planning on making a formidable run after Anthony Rendon in the offseason. This is not new as that has been speculated for over a year now. Initially I had heard that the Dodgers plan for the 2019-2020 offseason was to walk away with either Rendon or Arenado.

I was surprised Arenado agreed to an extension in the first place. Sure the money was good, but did he really think the Rockies would be willing to spend more cash to compete? Also a little difficult for me to believe he and others were that naive or didn't have friends on other teams telling them long before LeMahieu dropped the bomb.

Somehow missed this post. This could make things real interesting if the Rockies decide to put Nolan on the Market. Would have to think LA would be one of the destinations he'd drop his no trade clause for.

ROX have every excuse to tank for 4 or 5 years and see where they're at by the end of that stretch. They're the worst team in Denver, no contest. It's not even like they're competing for the heart of the city with another club. They may even be behind the Avalanche. It's a Broncos' town by default, and now the Nuggets have a strong team.

As much as I would love to get Rendon or Arenado, I still think our main weakness is in pitching, especially another starter and a closer. I know the market might be a little thin there, but pitching is a problem.

1000% I remember feeling like there was no way he'd stay..Dodgers are too far out front. And just the other day Arenado says, " Dodgers are better now than they were in the past. "

Ehh, Rockies are easily the second most popular team here. Avs are third and the Nuggets are 4th. When the Avs and Nuggets are bad, Pepsi is empty. When the Rockies are bad, they’re still pulling like 25k a game in. With that said, they need to do a rebuild now. Take advantage of their crop of young stars, trade them and totally reload the farm to compete with the West at a time when the Padres and D’Backs start losing some of their better players to FA and at the same time the Giants are pulling out of all their shitacular contracts.

It made absolutely no sense. Seemed like he was afraid after seeing what happened to Harper and bought in a little too much to the over performance of their young pitchers. Right after he signed there were multiple reports that the Dodgers were totally blindsided by that as he was priority #1 this winter.

It's always been a Bronco town. Others aren't even close.

There's nothing else going on when the ROX are bad, so it doesn't shock me that they get 25K in there. It's a cool, little hang out type of deal in the summer..fans don't go there expecting to win games. They're popular for the wrong reasons. Broncos' fans go to games believing that they can win..Nuggets, the same. They just so happen to not be playing in the summer, so they aren't the summer hang out.

ROX can tank and still be the summer hang out.
