Not to mention what a struggling Kersh in Game 1 could do to the team's morale. Watching him do the same ole shit would have everybody down and set a shitty tone for the run

 

Time for new life and new energy. Should have been a stipulation in handing Kersh that new contract..don't give us any shit when we start Buehler or Julio ahead of you in the post

IF we face them in the WS and IF Miley shut us down, I'd probably be done with baseball. He has been so fucking terrible this past month, that him dominating us would probably send me over the edge.

 

John Henry, owner of the Red Sox, said this afternoon that the org will set their sights on dropping under the first level of the CBT tax threshold. Right now they are already over it for 2020 with raises and if JD Martinez doesn't opt out, they will be way over it. From the looks of things, they have 4 potentially awful contracts on the books in Sale (5 yrs, $25 M AAV), Price (3 yrs, $31M AAV), Eovaldi (3 yrs, $17M AAV) and Pedroia (2 yrs, $13.75M AAV). They have JD and Xander locked up to big contracts as well, so A LOT of money could be taken up by 6 players alone(129.35M AAV). Speculation is that they could look to move Mookie Betts and his likely 25-30M contract to clear a lot of room while also replenishing a very weak farm system. It will be interesting to watch this unfold as their stated goal is to remain competitive, which could be tough if their pitching does not get healthy.

The AL is fucking pathetic right now. TWO teams rebuilt without tanking and that's us and the Yankees. Fuck everyone else for that bullshit.

 

Word is that AJ Pollock is going to be ok. They are giving him today off, but he will play tomorrow. Was in a lot of pain at the beginning, but it subsided. Not only does that fucking hurt getting hit there, but in that chilly SF air that had to suck.

Turner is rumored to be playing today and tomorrow.

Joe Kelly is going to pitch tomorrow.

The Giants have shut down Madison Bumgarner. He will not start game 162. They will be playing a "kids game" and Bochy wants MadBum to sit and coach with him.

 

Shame. Would have liked Muncy and Kike give him a HR sendoff for old time's sake.

 

Oakland and St. Louis I've done a good job staying competitive without tanking as well.

I have zero respect for the Cubs or Astros. It's pathetic that their loser strategy was rewarded. That's not to say they didn't have great scouting, innovative technology, and didn't make the right moves at the right time. They certainly did. But losing 100 games per year on purpose to build a contender and then wiping the floor with teams who built properly is a slap in the face. Yes, I am bitter.

 

Shouldn't be up to him, management should have mandated it. Still, amazing to me that he hasn't taken the initiative himself. I don't think he's very bright, and for whatever reason doesn't possess the desire to become better. For someone like him, the difference between hitting LHP and RHP is the difference from him potentially being a top paid star and a platoon player.
