If the NFL is going to make that assumption because of his history, that he's a guy that is going to be out there just looking to injure players, then they owe it to the players to be proactive and just never allow him to sign with the RAIDERS in the 1st place. But if they allow him to compete..they did..then it stands to reason that they judge him based on the play that occured. Of course, we're talking reason here and the league doesn't always display sound ability in that area. However, he's Vontaze Burfict, so no one's gonna cry for him and they can hand down whatever penalty, make whatever public stand ( albeit a late one) and let the arbitrator make sense of it all and be the fair voice..as they do so often. Think you definitely have to be at least a little crazy to play pro football..maybe crazy isn't the word, but it's just another step completely to say a guy should be locked away. Physically dominate another man is what they ask from players on the field in order for the team to be successful. So if we're gonna start calling for assault charges for things that just look rough, half the league is going on trial..even today. Again, I could understand if everybody's out there playing patty cake and all of a sudden Burfict's the only guy that wants to play football, but guys are out there fighting and tussling for hours. Look at Beckham Jr...he threw a punch at Marlon Humphrey, and Humphrey in return pinned Beckham down on the ground and literally choked him..looked like he was trying to kill him. Literally. You can hit a guy hard and impose your physicality/will on him without looking to injure the guy, and while staying within the context of the actual game. Probably looks like I'm defending his hit, but you know that's not what I'm getting at. Just saying its a game. A rough one, but still a game. I could see the suspension for Burfict being cut to 8 games, but if I'm Mayock/Chucky I just move on without him. Can't rely on him, and then they've made him a captain so he's a big voice..just cut him out and see what Dak Allen has for the rest of the year..maybe revisit bringing him back for Vegas next season if they can't find an answer at the position

Rams can be proud of how they fought in Seattle. Obviously, an L is an L at the end of the day, but it was close to getting out of hand in the 1st half and a blowout wouldn't have done anything to kill the noise ( Gurley and Goff will have to answer a few more questions after their performances).
