Been hoping for this for years. For him to finally have one postseason where he keeps it together, or hell, one postseason where he gets lucky (I would've taken warning track fly balls). But the reality is we are well past any point of redemption. What is he even physically capable of at this point? A LOOGY out? A poor man's Kolarek? He should hold it together for 2 years to eat innings and throw strikes, but I'm not sure he'll ever be on a postseason roster again without it being charity for his past.

And it looked like he was going to do that in 2017 with his amazing game 1 start to kick off the WS.

His stuff has diminished so much and it's not even just choking at this point...he's not that good.

LOL yes. Was always a big fan of the Dodgers. Instead he had to settle for 3 WS rings with the Yankees.

It's beginning to sound like the Kershaw in the 8th inning was not a last minute deviation by Dave from the tested formula of Kenta, Kolerek and 1 inning Kelly/Kenley.
    It was likely planned.
If so, the Front Office may have been involved in the process.
I'm a big F.O. supporter, but they are not beyond reproach.
Best F.O. we have had in decades? Sure. No doubt.
But I just cannot get myself to call them the smartest in baseball when they are involved in horseshit decisions like this and have been outsmarted by their direct competition.
Not to mention the shit FA signings.
Andrew needs to hire a general manager, fire Dave, and ownership needs to stop bowing to the luxury tax.

I can rattle off a dozens of reasons why this F.O. is a good one...
...and if Kenley, Kershaw, Seager, and Bellinger do their job in 2017, we aren't even having this discussion.
I get that argument and I have made it. But this is a results driven game.
    Gotta be held accountable.

And that fucked us over royally. They want him to be the hero. But sooner or later somebody's gotta realize he should be the fourth option on this staff and not an option at all coming out of the bullpen.

    fuck this front office
i don’t care how good they are in some areas (and they are)
they have failed to achieve their primary goal since they took over
worse, after getting so close the past two years they failed to address/improve areas of weakness
want to pass on harper, machado, et al? fine
but don’t try to placate us with a fucken scrub like pollock
that was a senseless signing before he ever took the field, and his performance (lack thereof) surprised no one
nice sentimental touch they extended kersh, but real teams don’t let emotions play a role
i rip orel as much as anyone here, but in a game that matters i would take prime orel (homo) over prime kershaw every time
    but i digress...
    fuck this front office

There is no chance in hell that was the plan and Roberts said as much. He left Kersh and Kelly in there based on his gut, same thing with Buehler. If the FO comes out and says they had gameplaned it that way, it is nothing more than them protecting him and all plans are to bring him back. No, analytics would have told you a million times over to get him out of there. That was all Roberts.

Nice and safe, they can't let you down.

It's saddening remembering the comparisons of Kershaw to Koufax when he was coming up. And Kershaw with the regular season accolades to hold up to the impossible expectations. But the postseason... Not only does Kershaw have no rings, but he's directly responsible for many of the failures. How many rings would we have right now if Kershaw had the same success in the postseason as the regular season? Dude had his chances, far more than Koufax did.

I agree that it's had to believe.
Just relaying what I heard on the postgame show archive from last night.
    Maybe someone fumbled their words
I cannot imagine the FO planning it that way
They had a pretty damn good blueprint and Dave just threw it in the trash
A fire-able offense if there ever was one

Kenta Maeda looked amazing and it's so sad to think that if he had just started the 8th, we'd all be celebrating right now.

Kudos to him.....as frustrating as he is to watch when he starts, the guy gets it done out of the pen when it matters.
