You posted it yourself..Cole tried to walk his comments back, gave his excuse so he knows he fucked up, but he was just being Gerrit Cole in that moment. That's the way I see it. Adversity hits and you get to see what's really what. It's really the best time to see who you should believe in. Goes for baseball and almost everything else. I'd accept some anger and regret, but what I don't want to hear or see is anybody trying to separate themselves from their team and teammates in a spot like that. That was just punk shit from a punk. And for a guy that actually put an L on the board in the WS to be that way is even more ridiculous.

Glad you mentioned BS quotes from the Dodgers because I have a problem with some of those guys too. Kenley already noted, but the same goes for Kershaw and his comments after the Game 7 loss to HOU in '17. His " maybe one of these days I won't fail " line. Smh Softer than Charmin

We'll just agree to disagree on Cole. The bottom line is simple for me: I think the Dodgers have a way better shot at a WS with him than without him.

And he really shouldn't, that org has been super Stras-friendly. Certainly not here telling you that Stras will leave. But that doesn't mean LAD needs to double up on bad investments - adding to the poor on field investment in Kersh last offseason. But I'm not one that believes LAD is about to spend big on a starting pitcher with Kersh already on the books, anyway, so I'm not worried about Cole landing with LAD.

I do, however, think they could make a run @ both Rendon and Lindor this offseason, maybe even try to team them up on the left side. Our SS and 3B are brittle as fuck and in decline

So then that's a yes..you're good with him separating himself from his team and teammates like he had no hand in the WS loss. We agree on a lot of stuff, but not this. Definitely a chump

How many guys can you apply that rule to though? Lol These MFs couldn't even get the ball out of the infield against Stras the 1st time they saw him. And the $30M a year starter on the staff can't get through the 1st inning without giving up 2-3 runs

Pick one that's not a punk and pay them. Plenty of guys out there. And no..not punk Puig who admitted he never worked hard w/LAD and wanted out and away from rightfully being platooned

That'll probably be the front office's mindset when they sign another AJ Pollock.

Cole with the ole - look at me, I'm mad about Game 7..please don't remember that I got tagged in Game 1 - slight of hand BS
Try that BS on somebody else. Series doesn't even get to a Game 7 if he handles his business in Game 1. HOU celebrates in DC.
Pisses me off and I didn't even want HOU to win. Just the principles of the shit. Hope he leaves Brent Strom and never pitches well again - for Moreno

Lol Well, 1st lets also make sure our targets can make it through the season healthy. I think just about all of us saw Pollock's injury riddled season coming and why would it ever end? At 32 years old, more RBIs likely to come - Real Bad Injuries

Besides the 2nd guessing of Hinch in game 7, I think people are left pointing their fingers at Kate Upton's husband now being 0-6 in the WS and losing both his starts.

    • The Brewers elected not to pick up the option for Eric Thames of 7.5M, which is weird. He mashes RHP and is bad against LHP, but 7.5M seems like a bargain for the dude. Paired with the Anderson deal this morning, Heyman is speculating that they are trying to free up funds to make a run at one of the major FA pitchers on the market.
    • Nick Markakis and Tyler Flowers had their options declined and then signed for the same amount of money with the Braves(saves them about $4M against the tax).
    • The Mets have extend Zack Wheeler a QO. He is not expected to sign. The Dodgers can not offer a QO to Ryu if anyone out there was wondering.

HOU being the big favorites in that series, they have quite a few guys from that side that they can point fingers at. Greinke among the few from that side without guilt, but even Greinke knew how to take the WS loss like a man after being pulled too early. Greinke, Yordan and Springer can all hold their heads up high. Yuli as well

If this is any indication of how the league views pure platoon players, it is not a great sign for Joc Pederson as he enters free agency a year from now. Pederson is no doubt the better player of the two and can man the OF, but Thames was at least somewhat capable in the box against a lefty when he needed to be. I am curious to see what this means for Pederson's trade value and what/if the team explores some sort of an extension with him that could be at a decent/low market rate. Might be time for the dude to spend the offseason in the cage facing lefties.

    "Who needs Strasburg or Cole..."
    -- Andrew Friedman
    • The Indians announced today that they have outrighted four pitchers from their 40-man roster. Lefty Tyler Olson and righties Cody Anderson, A.J. Cole, and Danny Salazar all elected free agency in lieu of a minor-league assignment. That’s a rather notable group of arms for the pitching-rich Cleveland organization to cast out onto the open market. Olson was still a bit shy of arbitration eligibility, but the three right-handers would have qualified. Anderson and Cole each projected to earn $800K, while Salazar could have anticipated a repeat of his $4.5MM salary.

The Angels have released Dodger killer Kole Calhoun. In his career Calhoun has slashed .249/.322/.424 with 140 HR's over parts of 8 seasons. In 28 games against the Dodgers he has a .302/.364/.677 line with 9 bombs. The Dodgers are the only NL team he has more than 2 HR's against and that two is only held by the Pirates. This dude has absolutely raked against us for some stupid fucking reason so I am sure he is headed to some division rival. This also means that Jo Adell is in the plans for the near future. He has the makings of a star.
