Chris Haynes@ChrisBHaynes 7m Yahoo Sources: Los Angeles Lakers offered Anthony Davis a max contract extension this morning, but they were informed he would be bypassing in favor of entering free-agency. Much-anticipated
Also, much anticipated.. Chris Haynes@ChrisBHaynes Detroit Pistons announced that forward Blake Griffin underwent a successful arthroscopic debridement of his left knee and says there is no timetable set for his return.
AD picked the right number because he hits the floor nearly as much as Wade used to. I don't know if I've ever seen a big hit the floor this fuckin often - a big that's not a flopper, that is. No wonder he's always hurt. Whether he's fading out of bounds on a jumpshot and flying into the stands, or trying to catch an alley oop, etc. This guy is always hitting the floor. Now, he's got a tailbone injury because Julius body checked him - to the floor
Just a bruise. MRI was "clean." https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/...s-star-big-man-questionable-for-fridays-game/
How perfect would it be if the Spurs, who currently have a 15-20 record and hold the 8th seed, do indeed hold on and actually make the playoffs? LAL gets to kick their ass and send them home in the 1st round....and then the Spurs get to watch the draft lottery @ home instead of lucking up on another potential Duncan or franchise player. Beautiful.
I’d much rather that happen to GS, but they are too far behind and not looking good. It would suck if GS pulls a Spurs because of this season.
I guess that would actually be perfect - both the Spurs and GSW making the playoffs as 7th and 8th seeds and missing out on the draft lottery, but it is what it is. No real rivalry between the Lakers and Warriors, so I can settle for Spurs/Pop dismay. I'm all in for Spurs suffering
Funny thing about Lakers-Warriors. Sure, it's a geographical rivalry, but hardly competitive on the court. Seems either has had total dominance over the other. Not much in between.
Yep. Never dominant at the same time. Top targets are Celtics and Spurs and by a pretty wide margin. Kick the Spurs'/Pop's ass in the 1st round - no draft lotto for them - then go on to rip the Celtics in the Finals this season. That's the dream
Might be the second time Vlade helped out the Lakers, although the first time was inadvertent (when he was traded for the pick that got Kobe).
Sounds like a fairly large gap in trade talks. Lakers want Bogdanovic + a 1st round pick for Kuz. Kings want more than just Kuz in return for Bogdanovic. Lakers aren't even slick, at all..they want a 1st round pick to offer to Memphis so perhaps they'd be willing to buyout Iggy and set him free to sign with us. See it coming a mile away. They want Bogdanovic and Iggy....and probably Collison, as well.
Javale, Dwight AD, Cousins LBJ, Iguodala Green, Bogdanovic, KCP Collison, Caruso That's a GOAT rotation. Complete murder.
Think the play would be something like - LAL trades Talen Horton-Tucker + 1st rd pick for Bruno Caboclo Memphis gets their 1st rd pick, and then they buyout Iggy in return. Iggy is then free to sign with LAL. Something like that. More than 1 way to skin a cat. Skirt the BS salary matching stuff. Maybe a guy like Troy Daniels goes instead of Horton-Tucker. Doesn't really matter. Not in terms of the ultimate goal. OT: Looks like we're about to have trade rumor wars in the media again. Now, it's being reported that Pelinka initiated the trade talks between LAL and SAC - because that matters for no other reason than to stir up shit to try and cause descension
Let them keep Iggy for now. The Lakers should pull the Pistons into the talks with Vlade. PG: Rose, Collison, KCP SG: Bogan, Caruso, Tucker SF: LeBron, Green, Dudley PF: Davis, Boogie, Cacok C : Bjelica, Dwight, Kostas Lakers get Bogan, Bjelica, Rose and sign Collison for his shot and defense and get Boogie back as a slim fast power forward with a quick pull up jumper. Starters start off the offensive. Subs end on the defensive. Sac gets Kyle Kuzma and 'fan favorite' salary of Blake Griffin to pair with Bagley at center and their young guards and slashers. Plus Javale and Rondo for bench. Detroit gets lots of salary relief and restocks with Harrison Barnes at SF and Richaun Holmes at PF forming a strong frontline alongside Drummond. Plus Markieff Morris, Quinn Cook and Troy Daniels for bench. Everybody wins! But the Lakers win more by getting 3 solid veterans out of Kuzma.
