What really perplexes me is that there were six umpires out there for numerous games in the ALCS and WS, and none of them picked up on some idiot in the dugout banging a trashcan right before every pitch to the Astro batters?

In theory, that would make sense. In reality, a new championship would be celebrated and speed up the forgetting about the tainted championship. Just ask the Patriots.

The Mookie Betts optics could be better. He clearly has not embraced the idea of being traded. He's not made any social post about being a Dodger but has replied to many Boston players and fans. His interviews are not that of a guy who is happy but more of a man who is relegated to his lot in his Proffesional life.

Not my best first impressions. I hope he gets on board once the guys get together and create friendships. We need Justin Turner do put his arm around the guy.

    That's ok.
Throw whatever you can at them.
Their star should forever be called an asterisk.
Their logo should be an albatross on their neck and forehead.
Force them to feel the need to change it.
    Never call them astros again.
    Call them asterisks.
    Astral like, but not quite.

    Nothing wrong with this.
It is actually pretty good imo.
He is not a mercenary it seems.
His heart is there and why would it not if he actually has one?
But that just means he will grow another heart here.
And eventually his Dodgers heart will be the one he takes to the hall.

I dont think this is like that situation.
    This isnt football.
    They arent the Patriots.
The asterisks should hear nothing but disdain.
Specially if Dodger fans dont take this lying down.

I’ve noticed the same thing, he’s appeared mellow, a little shell-shocked. But maybe it’s his personality? I’m not going to say it’s a negative, it’s an emotional reaction, the guy has to move his family across the country while working ... that can’t be easy.

I suspect it changes after his family is settled in and he has a few walkoff celebrations with the boys. Like Rube said, it could be a positive. If he really is shaken up, and he falls in love with LA, he could look to re-sign after knowing the stress of moving.

My guess is that the Astros employed many different techniques that ended up making it hard to make a determination on the field. Also, if they had spotted the cheating, I wonder what they would have done?

Yeah, David Price seems much happier to be here than Mookie does and that is definitely a bit worrisome. I think it will get better once spring training gets going, but Boston is eating this up right now. Really hope that he enjoys his time here and re-signs when all is said and done.

Betts' career OPS being 70+ points worse away from Fenway is the one thing that worries me more than anything else. Can do a lot worse than .860, but just another reason for them to stay aggressive and shoot for Lindor at some point. Figure out how to make the transition from Seager to Lindor.

Betts has always sort of been no-nonsense and old school. Just an FYI, if you guys were expecting to see him gush about LA. Guy from Nashville that'd just as soon play in a much smaller market. At the end of the day..show him the money and don't get cute with deferrals. That'd be a start.

The Boston media brings out the worst in everyone. I am giving Price the benefit of the doubt as we have seen it before a couple times how much happier a player is to get the fuck away from those D-Bag chowdah heads. He has been well regarded everywhere else he has been. The same was said about AGon and he was a fucking international ambassador for the game for crying out loud.

Besides that, good to know abut Mookie. We have plenty of personalities and our brightest stars of the last decade (Kershaw, Greinke, Bellinger, Seager) have all been pretty quiet dudes who keep to themselves mostly. Bellinger mostly cause he's probably stoned off his ass. We have that cast of characters that can let Mookie be Mookie and he should be able to settle in. Wonder if he prefers a situation where he can sink into the seat cushions and let the world go on around him. LA already having some of the most popular players in the sport, plus the Lakeshow should make it possible for him to do that.

Mookie will be a superstar in LA.
He was brought in to ease the pain of Kobe dying for the city.
Mookie is a country bumpkin at heart so it just takes him a little bit to let loose around new large groups of city folk.

I agree with you 100 about Price.
Boston is like Philly in that they are good at picking people to hate and then picking at them until they get put in their place.

A 30+ year WS title drought may or may not help in that effort
