Vin Scully has been released from the hospital after a fall at his home this week, the Dodgers shared Saturday on Twitter.

The Hall of Fame broadcaster, 92, thanked the first responders, doctors and nurses who treated him at Los Robles Hospital.

“My sincerest thanks to the LA County Firemen and women who come to the rescue and always seem to be there when we need and to the excellent administration, doctors and nurses of Los Robles Hospital,” Scully said in a statement. “I am so eternally grateful for their help and selfless service. I’m home resting comfortably with my wife and we are both eagerly awaiting the Time for Dodger Baseball!”

Scully called Dodgers games for 67 seasons, starting in 1950 in Brooklyn and concluding at the end of the 2016 campaign at the age of 88. His tenure was the longest with one franchise by a broadcaster in professional sports history.

Scully received the Ford C. Frick Award from the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1982 and the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2016.

In looking back, the 4 prospects he mentioned had some MLB experience, but never made much impact. Some of the guys to think about would be Andy Laroche, Chin-Lung Hu, Scott Elbert, James McDonald and maybe even the rising Josh Bell. At the time, our system was perceived to be stacked after big time graduations and still Kershaw, Laroche and Hu all getting superstar or near that projections leading the lists. Moving one or more of those guys could definitely have caused McCourt pause if he new tough times were on the horizon. It’s interesting looking back at the lists and seeing how many guys just face planted.

Nevermind about Laroche, forgot he was in the Manny trade.

For the prospect hoarders trading LaRoche was blasphemy.

Ned said the same thing in that he had been desperately searching for an ace. Granted, he got an ace a year later, but this could have been a major turning point for the franchise. Sabathia ran out of gas at the end of that season, but the Dodgers would not have abused him the way that the Brewers did, so I'd expect him to be more like the guy he was in 2009 than 2008 in the playoffs. Ned's point was that it would have moved everyone down a slot and he feels that would have drastically shifted the Phillies series and I agree. Not only does Bills go game 3, but having a guy like Sabathia in there to give more of a night off for the pen was something that caught up to us in that series. If Sabathia comes here and the Dodgers do big things, does he maybe take less money to stay? Ned mentioned that he was hard after Sabathia that offseason too, but fell short of the Yankees. What does Sabathia do for the franchise long term? What does having a 1-2 of prime Sabathia and Kershaw do for the teams from 10-12? Does Sabathia never wear down like he did after not having a team burn him into the ground in 2008 or being able to avoid the added strain of a league with a DH? Does having Sabathia alter the 2012 season enough that the additions of Ramirez, AGon and Beckett put us over the top instead of merely nabbing us 2nd place? And by the time Sabathia is falling apart, we have the new ownership that is wildly spending, so his contract does not become a detriment. That trade would likely have changed the trajectory for this franchise in a big way.

CC would probably still be on the team taking the Rich Hill type of role.

Bob Nightengale is reporting that MLB is potentially inching closer to a deal that would start the MLB season in late June with 3 10 team divisions of a west, central and east. Owners are beginning to feel confident that a deal could be reached that would involve teams being able to play in their home ballparks. The goal would be to play 100-110 games and have teams playing only within their division. No playoff format was discussed in the piece, but there has been a rumor that MLB could use this opportunity to expand the playoffs somewhat in a way to pull in extra revenue. I would guess we would also see a universal DH put into place and would also not be surprised if it stayed for good. the divisions would be

    West
    Dodgers
    Angels
    A's
    Astros
    D'Backs
    Giants
    Mariners
    Padres
    Rangers
    Rockies

    Central
    Cubs
    White Sox
    Brewers
    Cards
    Royals
    Reds
    Indians
    Twins
    Tigers
    Braves

    East
    Yanks
    Mets
    Red Sox
    Nats
    Orioles
    Phillies
    Pirates
    Blue Jays
    Rays
    Marlins

One interesting part of this is the Pirates and Braves switching divisions. Only thing I can think of is that they felt the East was too stacked and they were looking for someone to move out, but man the central would be ruthless with basically 8 legit playoff contenders and two of the worst teams in the game. Getting the Angels, Astros and A's would be a brutal addition to the Dodgers originally planned division. Thank god we kept Joc...

MLB is also likely to proceed with the draft on June 1st, but no word on how many rounds it will be.

Would they try to squeeze all 110 games in time to start the playoffs on schedule?

I don't think there are 8 legit playoff contenders. If it is set up like that, the Cardinals, Brewers, and probably Reds and White Sox wouldn't be playoff contenders along with the Tigers and Royals. Brewers rotation is full of yikes and their lineup is depleted with the loss of Grandal (which will probably also hurt the pitching staff) and Moustakas

Anytime I see a picture of Dave Roberts and remember Price is on the team I feel the same way.

Astros & Dodgers in the same division. Yeah, sign me up.
Bring on the DH too. It sucks but it will even the playing field on both the competitive and free agency destination levels.
The AL gets 9 spots to warm-up their hitters all year compared to the NL teams 8 spots. Doesn't matter if the NL team has a better DH when they play in an AL stadium, the AL team will still have had 9 spots to get their guys locked-in every game. Consistency matters.
Once the DH becomes universal it will be interesting to see just how good an offensive player can get in the next 20 to 30 years or so. Why not just train only hitting from day 1. Less abuse on the body, less injuries, more money cause your an offensive dynamo that has never been seen before but over time becomes more common and then the norm.
We need a 13 game series of Dodgers - Astros,
    Go fuck yourself, Manfred.

Having the Astros in the same division would be very interesting. The Angels would be a scary addition, as 12 games against them would not be fun. Max Muncy said they are the most frustrating team to face - saying they pitch “weird” in that they have very unorthodox pitch selection. Apparently the Angels through a LOT of breaking pitches at unusual times, and Muncy said he even thinks that high usage is to blame for poor pitcher development, but nevertheless makes them frustrating to face.

Is anyone else surprised how little they're missing baseball - and spectator sports in general? I'm keeping myself really busy on other things that I usually put off and like huh? said, at this point I don't care if there's baseball or not. And it's kind of refreshing to not have to process letdowns due to p0or Roberts decisions, etc.

We should hold a baseball game.
    Livestream it.
    See what happens.
Who has the bats for this?
If you scared and all you got is a mitt you can cover your mouth with it so nobody steals your signs.
But don't be scared into not playing guys.
I'm sure that if you search deep inside yourself you will find balls. Be they hard or soft or blue rubber balls that go deep.
If we wanna play all we really need is balls.
I have enough sticks for everyone.
