Mine was about 20 yrs earlier.

    The Ikettes.....damn.

Lee Michaels consisted of Lee on the keyboards and his drummer Frosty. They were pretty hot for a short period of time.

Four years earlier than your in belly experience a group of us saw Zeppelin at Kezar Stadium in SF (where the 49ers played back when). Didn't realize it at the time, but we were witnessing a legendary show.

A little (very little footage) of the opening tune.

Some of my fondest memories have been shared with great people in this scene. It goes beyond Grateful Dead shows. The parking lots and jam band shows were so much fun. Use to see a local Socal band called cubensis. They covered the Dead in such an original way. Use to buy sheets of blotter and black pyramid gels from the drummer. Trippy day’s for sure!

yeah the parking lot was certainly fun although we became a bit of a target for people trying to bum money etc.
seemed like a good sector of the crowd had some sort of aversion to soap and water lol
he is really into his jam music and took me to see string cheese incident which i liked and phish which i did not
might have had something to do w the fat smelly clown seated behind me insisting on singing the words to EVERY song at the top of his lungs
i finally just left and went and talked to an old black woman working the venue and that was awesome
i'd go see umprheys mcgee or widespread panic but so far it hasn't happened
tried to return the favor and take him to tame but his kids were freaking out on corona

Lol. No but sounds like good times were had. We use to eat that shit like candy. Got to the point where we would just rip strips off of the sheet and dose each other blindly. became a game and shit. Would be like hey “insert name here”... guy would turn around and boom stick out your young homie... buckle up cuz the rest of your day is seeing Walls breathe and talking to fence posts...

was texting back and forth with my best pal from back in those days and he reminded me that we both ripped and ate a strip from top to bottom from the sides of the sheet. When I say ripped imagine the perforated squares where your supposed to carefully pull a square tab off the sheet of 100. This strip was long and uneven as fuck. Probably around 12-15 doses.

Made for a few Interesting days and the peak was ridiculous. I remembered the trip but not the amount we ate. Dumbasses!

yeah i was always afraid of the speed and strychnine in blotter
after my first couple of times i decided the huge crash was not for me
did my fair share of shrooms and that was more my style
probably did acid 20 times or so in measured doses
i was really scared of not coming down...sounds insane even thinking back about those days let alone 12/15 doses at once damn!
i can't even imagine how that went
but i'm here for ya if you want to try and explain lol some of the best stories since it often seems impossible it happened like that

I can assure you no elaboration on my part. But yeah we were at a dead on the mountain event at krakta ridge ski resort in Angeles crest.we ended up at a park in eagle rock spent the night before wandering elsewhere. There’s just too much to elaborate but I can tell you it was mind melting. We use to eat 3 doses at a time all the time so we were pretty tolerant to the stuff we had and basically had only a couple trusted sources with consistent shit. Liquid was the crazy shit because the drops weren’t accurate. The blotter was the weakest with gels being a very calculated STRONG dose.
Mushrooms were my favorite. Such a great trip.

now a days, I smoke a small bowl and knock out. Not old but different from those days.

the speed part was a factor to keep you up tripping but we had a good clean source. I’ve had doses with speed and you know pretty quick. It’s a shitty grind your teeth in the corner talking to yourself kinda trip. No bueno.

I think back on those days and feel lucky I didn’t scramble my eggs. I do know dear friends who are different as a result. We use to say you had to be head strong to trip on our level.. lol what idiots we were. But we had good times!

sounds like you had better medicine
story wise i once found myself on the side of the 405 somewhere between SD and LA and certain i had just seen a guy on a motorcycle slide off the embankment
he was in my passenger side mirror and then...i pulled over onto the side of the freeway
thankfully had a moment of clarity and got back in the car
i have such faded memories of SD but clearly recall an angel walking back a raging man following the moon on a jetty
met a thalidomide child on mission beach boardwalk on a date
maybe one of the most intense moments in my life and i just swallowed and spun to the right
    lsd
stripped down w a brother squid and spread mud on ourselves on sunset cliffs
we were the first people on the face of the earth watching the unwanted floating in
how i didn't fall to my death in those chasm's still amazes me but then again i was always lucky
i just remember gazing into the abyss

someone posted this on a Bowie fanpage i belong to
its from around 97 i think and is one of many great songs he wrote in the 90s when no one was paying attention
it was when the techno rage was happening and he was being influenced by Trent Reznor
Reeves Gabrels (now in the Cure) delivers a sonic rampage on guitar w Mike Garson delivering his insane piano all over it
if you like it check the lyrics out its truly one of his best song imo
oh yeah turn it up LOUD

Since finding out who Rube is "literally" the same as, I believe his favorite music is Wagner.
