I never thought in a million years that I would root for SF but I think Houston is the team I hate the most of all time. Never a team from any sport at any time has made me feel half as angry as I do when I just see their name.

Can't believe it but I hope Houston gets swept. Kudos to the A's for beating their ass over the weekend.

Can it be possible that our giants hate and rivalry can shift to another team?
Can we make peace with the giants now?
    Hmmm, I don't know.
If we do then maybe I'll visit for the first time.
Then again I'm talking to this girl from Houston.
    She hates the Astros too.
    So that's a good sign.

MLB actually does something right by giving Cintron a much longer suspension than Laureano after the A's/Astros fight. They seriously need to start throwing down more suspensions on the Astros because the Astros' whiny, victim, us-vs-the-world, instigative attitude needs to stop. They got away with literally the worst thing they could do in the sport, and how you don't just put your head down and play while trying to bring as little attention to yourself as possible, I will never know. Shut up, take your lumps, don't cheat.

courtesy astros shame tour on twitter...
    • “Pretty wild that a guy who yelled a vulgar comment got suspended 20 more games than the entire 2017 Astros team combined”

hoping this fragile bkitch can get healthy enough for us to unload him on somebody else
love the guy when he’s 100%, just not sure how often that will be moving forward
    • While Seager has been able to swing, run and play catch this week, the Dodgers haven’t ruled out a stint on the injured list for the two-time All-Star and former National League Rookie of the Year.

This season has been horrendously mediocre, but there have been a couple of really positive notes and they're the kids:
    • May is finally starting to trust his stuff at the big league level and it is something to watch. His command/control was considered some of the best in MiLB, but ever since his call up it was obvious that he was trying to nibble too much and was likely overamped for his breaking stuff. You can tell in these last two starts that things have started to click. Landing his curve/slurve will go a long way in keeping guys off balance. He still has a little ways to go to be a front of the rotation guy as he needs to continue to spot that pitch and see more consistency with his cutter, but he is looking more and more like someone we will want to see backing up Buehler in the years ahead. He's probably not a #1 on a WS team unless his cutter and slurve leap forward, but he certainly has the stuff to potentially be the #2. I'll be curious to see if he gets back to throwing a 4-seamer up in the zone to mess with batters eye angles, especially when he is now touching triple digits.
    • Tony Gonsolin is starting to look like the guy we were hearing about 2 years ago. I was never as high on him as some others were as a starter as the FB was just not as good in a starting role as it was in relief paired with his 80 grade splitter. He has worked on the FB to get a better spin on it and his command is starting to show improvement. The one thing that disappointed me most last year besides the command woes was that the FB ticked down quickly as the appearances wore on(it was said to be down during the MiLB season as well). This year, his max pitch speeds in each game exceed anything he did last year and have played right inline with where he was at when he first came up before a big drop off. If he can get back to living 94-97, that would be huge for him especially if he can continue to see improvement with his command. Another thing to watch will be the usage of his slider and curve. Both are WAY down over last year while his splitter use is way up. Scouts seem to really like his slider and curve, but he has really struggled to place them. Bringing the usage down could be an interesting way to get more swings and misses from the pitches while keeping these pitches in the backs of players minds that they could come at any time. He is not a front of the rotation starter, but he could be legit number #3 behind May and Buehler.
    • If the reports out of the Alt site are true, then Gray's continued steps forward are another exciting movement for the organization. Gray, like Gonsolin probably doesn't possess the stuff to be a #1 or #2, but could be a very good #3. Granted things don't always workout perfectly, but the Dodgers rotation is looking like a major strength going forward.

    great news
despite the team’s struggles, we know they’re going to score runs once they start clicking
i’ve always been high on gonsolin so it’s nice to see him beginning to figure things out
may has some of the sickest late movement i’ve ever seen

The bats absolutely need to wake up. We are almost a third of the way through the shortened season with Joc, Cody and Muncy looking horrific while still no sign of Lux. 44% of our projected opening day roster has been awful or unheard of and another impact player(Seager) is on the shelf. Smith and Turner look like a couple guys that are coming out of their funks while Pollock, Betts and Rios are the only ones currently keeping this lineup afloat(seriously, that was TWO projected OD starters doing well, 3 if Seager had stayed healthy). One thing about this org is we are actually really thin on impact bats on the farm. Lux is considered elite, but besides that the guys are a bit away from being impactful hitters and we have no clue what some of the newer guys are looking like in year 2 with the org which is a bummer, but also doesn't meant they were particularly close anyway. Getting Corey back and Cody right would turn this lineup into a nightmare. Muncy, Joc and Lux would be the icing on the fucking cake... problem is they are already running out of time.

Cody has been far and away the biggest under-performer. If there's any bright light, that double in the 8th last night was very promising. A few more AB's like that and things could turn around quickly.

I would be more impressed if he had driven the ball the other way. Looked to me like he was surprised the ball went in that direction. His head was going in one direction and the ball went the other way. Didn't look like a convincing swing to me.

I'm not holding my breath yet on Cody. He had that burst a week or so ago where it looked like he was figuring it out, then nothing. Not saying he can't figure things out in a flash, but one thing about Cody in each of his seasons is that when things started going bad in season with his swing, he was never able to pull himself out of the funk. He seems to need reps in the cage to get things figured out and there may not be a chance to do that in this current state of the game.

Fuck y'all, Cody will come around.
He's just a little butthurt at not being the main man on the team anymore.
This was gonna be his team for the next decade.
    Now it's mookies.
He's too big strong and talented to not be at least as good as max muncy was last year.
Edwin Rios wants to be this year's max muncy.
