was going to post in the corona thread but i'll post here instead
in the last two weeks i've had 3 different nurses tell me the hospitals have no one in them
last night i took my friend to emergency at olive view in sylmar cause he's basically a street person
he was texting me last night there is no one in there
when i dropped him off the parking lots were mostly empty
newsome fires his health director but says he "feels" the numbers are higher
we are being spoon feed heaping shovels of shit up our asses and going along w it
of course there are people infected but nowhere near what these asshats want you to believe
funny no major spread amongst the burgeoning homeless population right?
and good god we need to get those criminals out of prison asap since obviously masks don't work there
meantime i can shop at macy's and jcpenney at the local mall since both are going out of business i guess
and the rest of the mall has to remain closed w the gyms, nail salons, restaurants and bars
no one has the answers and yet these "leaders" choose to randomly destroy businesses the rioters didn't burn
    fuck liberals i'm sorry
and fuck the republicans for being complicit

Even your posts don't believe it!
You got too much beauty in your life to believe any of that.
    Just like Han Solo.
    It's a front.
There is no future in your front.

    The future its coming on.
    But it's intangible.
    Maybe mystical or spiritual.
    Definitely essential.
    And it's coming from behind.
    Check your six.
Use that brown eye for something else.
So you can survive when law is lawless.
You know where all the rats going?
    Where they feel safe.
Same place all the racist cops are going to in response to the police purges in liberal states.
    Remember the Alamo?
    Member?

    Is that a promise.
I change my mind all the time.
    There and back again.
    Keeps it fresh.
    So that don't trouble me.
If you compel me to change my mind then you done your job.
The only thing I don't want to hear and won't hear is if you say stop, its too dangerous, there's too many of them, it's a trap.

I mean, it's been bad before. We've had POTUS's assassinated. We had a civil war. We've had major protests before. Not to say what's happening now isn't bad, but I'd say there have definitely been other bad times.

Social media and cable news programming is the new big factor in it all. It can bring out the worst in us. I'd argue another big component leading up to all of this has been the Tea Party's take over of the Republican Party, but I know most people in here don't want to hear about it. The Republican Party has pushed more to the right, inevitably opening the door for the Democratic Party to push more to the left.

In the end, and I've said this before, I just want universal healthcare. It's done in a lot of other countries and it would be a huge step forward in improving what is, in the end, a pretty great country. I think if the universal healthcare opponents spent half the time they do telling me why it won't work, on figuring how to make it work, this would have been done 20 years ago. I've seen how the current system has affected even the small circle of people I know, in life altering ways. We can do better.

    the Tea party?
i can't even recall the last time i've heard the term
although liberals love to point at Charlottesville like its the OKC of terrorism
yeah you have one example and a questionable one at that
witnesses said the crowd was encircling the car just like a thousand images we see daily
but for every Charlottesville there are hundreds of Portlands and Seattles w insane destructive leftists
you own anitfa and blm and every marxist organization of note
    tea party lmao

If you believe Pew research (or 538), the Republican Party has barely moved over that last 25 years, but the Democratic Party has shifted significantly to the left.
It's probably not realistic to attribute a large shift from one party as a reactionary response to a comparatively smaller shift from the other party.

The main issues typically associated with the Tea Party were
    fiscal responsibility,
    limited government,
    constitutional originalism, and
    US Soverignty.

The republican party (at best) only partially embraces the last one.
The first three are totally out the window.
So not sure how you can say the Tea Party took over the republican party.

We are not going through dick
We are being manipulated by a foreign power
This aint anything like what we have experienced before
I wasnt there but I was there in spirit
I have all the books. not just from our side
    This is not politics
    This is war
And its way worse than the cold war
    This is real
And we can win it before another bomb is dropped on a third party

So the study that the graph was pulled from is a good read: http://assets.pewresearch.org/wp-co...47/10-05-2017-Political-landscape-release.pdf

The composite of the 1994 chart and 2017 is a bit bullshit since the study also published a 2004 chart which is very similar looking to the 1994 chart, but with everything shifted dramatically to the left. If you overlay the 2004 chart with the 2017 chart, it looks a lot more like both parties have had the same shift.

I nerded out on the charts in the original study. Depending on the issue you can see where the shifts have happened. With government assistant and immigration, the shift is on the Democratic side. With government regulation, environment, and global warming the shift has been on the Republican side. A lot of the other issues had similar shifts or shifts with no patterns. 2008, 2012, and 2016 seemed to be the years with most shifts.

The fiscal shifts from 2008 forward coincide with the Tea Party theories. Whether inspired by a huge recession, or Democratic POTUS and Congress I’m not sure, but it’s a very real thing that the Tea Party increased their voice starting in 2008. I’ve been involved with “resistance” efforts since 2016, and they literally take the Tea Party playbook to get as big of a voice from a small number of people.

In the end, I may be off by saying the “right started it” but I feel safe in saying both sides are enabled by the other. The center has moved left, that’s a thing that has happened throughout the world the past 25 years. There are no points for being stuck in 1994. At least the US moved left with them for the first 10 years.
