This is baseball. Everyone sees your face. It's just you holding the bat. He's not sharing anything. I'm wondering what the hell he's doing in his spare time. He's not even clean. Did Covid-19 steal his bat and his hygiene supplies?

Turner always starts slow he will turn it around
Not belli though, it's gonna get worse before it gets better. Terrible offseason to change your stance.

He admitted to altering if not his stance, it was his mechanics due to his slide in the second half of last season. To me the problem was not that pitchers figured him out and exploited his new mechanics last year, it was as the year went on, he started to revert to his old mistakes. There was nothing wrong with the way he was looking in the first half last season, it was just that his mechanics hadn't quite locked in yet and was reverting. Should have spent offseason and shutdown trying to lock that back in again.

His stance looked the exact same as last year in my opinion. But he also scrapped whatever he was doing differently after about a week. Like his contact rate isn’t any different. He’s just doing two things about all the time. He’s either popping up on pitches right down the middle or inside, or pulling off on pitches outside and rolling over grounders to the right side. His timing was all very off, since like yesterday where he squared a couple up but still went 0 for 3. He looked a lot better.

    • MLB is considering allowing teams to invite an extra 15 players to their Alt site. Glad to hear this, but I am still of the opinion that it is unfair and not enough. Feel like these orgs should be allowed to field as many players as they would like at their ST facilities if they wanted.
    • There is worry that we may be on the verge of a 3rd outbreak as a Reds player today tested positive for COVID-19. Their games over the weekend have been postponed.
    • MLB is considering a bubble for the playoffs to follow what the NBA and NHL have done. There is no word on locations, but would think that LA would be one of the top choices due to MLB ready stadiums and weather. Would guess that Phoenix is up there too since it would be cooler and they have a number of stadium options that would allow for multiple teams to have their usual home stadiums. I swear, if they do some BS like NYC, I'll blow a gasket.

Nervous about the situation, not upset. He has everything to be great, hope he doesn't blow it by not working as hard as he should.

His interviews leave me nervous. He seems very short and entitled. I hope I'm reading him wrong.

I agree. Doesn't seem like the hard working, obsessive type. Doesn't want it bad enough, and knows he can be pretty good.just with his natural talent alone..so why work on it every day ? Being the ace carries responsibility.
Because guys who started with less natural talent, who work diligently, without fail year after year, can achieve more...like that guy, Clayton Kershaw.
He's going to the Hall of Fame, no matter how many people hate him.
Hope I'm 180° off on this Buehler take...hope it's just his snotty face.

Everything I have ever heard about him is that he is very hard working and a video room nut. He is and always has been cocky, that's been his M.O. since HS, but he is also said to be a weird fucking dude which is why he comes off as a dick in interviews. Think of him in the mold of a Zack Greinke/Trevor Bauer type where they're very unfiltered, but cockier. Buehler seems to have a better head on his shoulder than those two, but there have been no shortage of jokes at his expense among players about his personality. If you are comparing him to Kershaw and expecting him to be in the same mold, you are going to be let down. Seriously, it took until this offseason for Kersh to buy into the new tech side of the game. Buehler has been deep in that since his Frosh year of college. They are two very different guys in that Kershaw was a weight room/training guy, while Buehler is a video/spin rate/arm angle guy. That is where the problem lies as Buehler is CONSTANTLY tinkering with his mechanics. That is what happened last season and it is what he claims is the reason it takes him a while in season to get going. Initial reports said that he had not thrown the ball all break(I saw the report and posted it on here), but apparently that may not be totally true. There have been a few people that said he was throwing, just not ramping things up since there was no hard and fast return date. So he was not given enough time to ramp up in preparation of Summer Camp, nor was it long enough for him to get ready.

I guess I have absolutely no problem with him as long as he continues to do his thing in the playoffs. I want my ace to be cocky and it apparently is liked by his teammates too, so whatever works.

Rios to the IL and Kolarek is back up. Lux must still be looking pretty rough.

There is a lot of talk that both Zach Plesac and Mike Clevinger have thrown their final pitches for the Indians. That could be interesting to watch as the Dodgers were said to be one of the heavier teams after Clevinger all winter. The Indians supposedly wanted a package around both Lux and May, so understandably nothing happened (potentially Seager too as Lindor was said to be involved). If we have a hole anywhere, it is for a top of the rotation pitcher so it will be interesting to see what the FO does as we approach the deadline.

Bottom line is he wasn't ready to roll and that has nothing to do with any new age pitching philosophies. Hopefully it's a lesson learned.

Their "closer" has an ERA of 14.73. Couldn't have happened to a nicer team, haha. I think Gabe is a pretty lame manager, but then again, what does he really have to work with? I look at that roster and very few would even make our team... Of course Watson and I'd trade Joc for Yaz straight up. Maybe Solano would make our team too but I'm not convinced his start's not a fluke. That's about it.

I'd love to lay this mess on the ball tanner, but the previous front office left the cupboard empty of prospects and some awful contracts to veteran players.

Yaz is the Giants version of Muncy. Not sure what to make of Solano.
