Allowing only 1 run with Gonsolin, McGee, Alexander, and Treinin is pretty awesome. You’re talking about a #7 starter, guy who was DFAd a week prior to season, inconsistent reliever, and another guy who was DFAd

I think my favorite part of the bullpen thus far has been how even when someone struggles, the next guy up is cleaning up their mess. A lot of times it feels like the bullpen would struggle together on the same day but like yesterday, McGee got into a lot of trouble and Alexander got out of it rather clean. Then Treinen gets outta jam rather easily. Just good good stuff and we might also be some weeks away from a starter going into the bullpen (Ross? Gonsolin? Wood? May?) which is gonna help as well

It's well known that top tomcat Ferris is mad for gingers...
I wonder if it's in the Cockney rhyming slang sense, though...ginger beer = queer.

His arm has never graded out well and that is his major weakness on the defensive side of the ball. He had a quick release and good accuracy coming up, but that has seemed to have waned in the past 2 years. What makes him the "defensive specialist" is the framing.

Put that way, I agree that is awesome, and technically at the start of the season Gonsolin was our #7 starter. That said, at this point he had better not get bumped out of the rotation for Wood or Stripling.

Why did you mention Wood ? Everything was fine until then. Damn...
Some things are better left unsaid...unspoken...left in the shadows and darkness like Danerys' dragons when they barbeque children, etc.

I agree. First thing I read this morning mentioned that his rehab is going well and he's on target to return soon and that was entirely not how I wanted my day to begin.

Yeah and the framing part is just so blatant. I’m a catcher for my whole life. A catcher instructor and coach HS catchers. I actually use AB as an example of what NOT to do. He yanks the ball all around. Especially from below the strike zone. I can’t understand how he’s getting the calls.

the game has shifted a bit on the low pitch and how to present it but damn he has way too much glove movement. Gotta be quiet back there!

I've noticed the same thing! He is not as smooth as some of the other guys and I think that is starting to catch up to him as umps are not really giving us anything off the plate when he is back there. I'll be interested to see what his numbers look like at the end of this year.

I can get used to Betts and Seager at the top of the order. I said it a while back that those two at the top should be the easy, no brainer, part of the lineup. After that I can see arguments for all sorts of combinations, but 1. Betts, 2.Seager should be written in stone.

The guy with the hole in his swing should not be batting cleanup until he fixes it.

We probably really need that extra reliever with how Urias’ first inning went

...and Cody watches the other two slumpers blast HRs, so goes back in the clubhouse for a few drags on a doobie to ease the pain...

Strange point in the game to pull Urias. Injury? Ineffectiveness? Or just on a low pitch limit?

    Nice Cody... there you go!
