    Hang out with your grandfather.
Show people that love beats fear.
    If you die, you die.
    Your children will understand.
We will make a monument to you on route 66.
Or at least a rusted iron sculpture out in the desert.
Your heroic sacrifice will be remembered always.
But most likely you won't even get a tickle in your throat.
    Other that from Irish.
And he's had so much alcohol in his system that all viruses die on contact.
    So you are good.
Just make sure to gargle often.
    And visit your grandfather.
Even if you gotta wear a leslie nielsen sized condom.

So I thought I’d post an update.

Old Pops came out on the other side of this shit healthy. It was touch and go. Literally couldn’t speak three words without coughing and shortness of breath for two plus weeks. He was sure he was dying and advanced directives were discussed which is an awful conversation to have.

Really thought he would succumb to this shit but he’s a fighter and kicked COVIDS ASS! Old Scot’s are the hardest of MEN!

still not out of the woods. He can’t tie his shoelaces without getting gassed but he’s recovering. I keep reminding him he might feel good but he needs to keep it slow.

thanks for all the kind words and we’ll wishes fellas.

Happy for you and your old man (I know.....who the fuck am I calling someone old).

Going through stuff like this is reminder to get your life shit in order, such as directives and a will, especially if you have children. This regardless of your age.

really happy to hear this mate
almost 30 years ago to the day i lost my dad
have great memories of watching the hagler/hearns/leonard/insane middleweights in a room full of guys w a keg of beer and him w his chesire cat smile puffing on his pipe
one day he suddenly starts acting strange followed by a weird incontinence situation and we end up in a room talking w doctors about this frontal lobe tumor and a biopsy
they described it as this little incision to find out the grade of the tumor and we went for it
next time i see him he has a shaved head and this frankenstein scar across his forehead
he's awake and expressive w his eyes but can't speak and never speaks again
after a hellish month of trying to take care of this large bed ridden man w my mom he passes away
you are the luckiest man and the world and sincere best to you and your old man
may you have many more years of love and respect HUZZAH!

Appreciate the well wishes brotha. Sorry to hear about your father. That’s a difficult situation and being so young, it must have been hard on you and your mom.

Our family friend who got COVID passed away last night ☹️ I guess the only good news is that she didn’t pass it to my mom and grandma, even though she visited them the day before testing positive.

Anecdotal, but my family has had more COVID scares in the past 3 weeks than the previous 6 months.

The scariest part to me is that she lives in Utah, but was out in California when she tested positive. After testing positive she was able to hop on a plane and fly home. I’m not going anywhere near a plane until this whole thing is done with.

    Third wave of corona.
I was at at my nephew's yesterday with his family who was all at a party last weekend where folks got really sick with covid.
And my nephew's wife was sick and coughing all over me while we watched the dodgers win.
We didn't hang for the previous game and the dodgers lost. Same thing happened the night we didn't watch the Lakers game together.
So we made the decision for the dodgers sake.
    If we die, we die.

The gooder news is that your mom got to see her friend before she passed.
I'm sure she never gonna forget that.

Think of it as the flu and think of yourself as just coming off an upper respiratory infection and what you would do in that situation.
What would you do in terms of being careful. You don't need to do more than that.
Actually that probably depends on your upbringing.
So don't do what you normally do if what you normally do is shut all the windows and blast the heat and take pills to stave off the immuno reaction to some infectious matter getting into your system.
I have been taking cold showers exclusively for a bit now as its something that I can do now without much effort (lets see in december)
And have kept the windows open letting drafts in at night to allow the old air to leave and new air to come in.
    Lots more dust.
Dust carries a variety of pathogens collected from nature and the population at large.
We are genetically made up of the dust that is nurtured in the nature around us.
We breathe and eat and shed and exhale this dust that is all sorts of living DNA.
You can see the different shaped dust particles when the sun shines brightly into your living room through the prism of your window.
If you focus your eye you can make out the different microscopic bacteria looking organisms floating around.
Just like when you focus a telescope on a star its not just a ball of light but a unique shape that that moves and pulsates at a beat that creates the solid light our eyes perceive.
The corona is just another one of these specs of dust.
But it is part of a massive host.
Corona could be like a big bad wolf coming to blow your house down and eat your babies.
Wouldnt it be better to have a pack of coyotes in your backyard defending your front porch?
Which is to say not to be soo afraid that you isolate yourself from the only thing that can actually save you in the long run.
Hiding/Scared only saves you for a day.
If you want to live you have kill the wolf.
And for that you have to be bigger and badder.
And hit him at his den before he enters you at yours.
But you can't even begin to think about finding out where he lives until you stop thinking of yourself as the prey.
You have to prey just to make it today.
And its best to prey in packs.
If you your prey to hear your call.
