i actually think this year will produce the exact opposite result
i think he's going to get vindicated this year
and we win the whole thing w the 81/Fernando/Victor hoodoo

Kershaw overcoming his demons in his hometown (well, he was a Dallas kid but rooted for the Rangers) is too perfect of a story.

He got cheated out of an MVP because of Houston, time to take it here.

Dallas and Arlington are closer than Los Angeles and Anaheim.

Given that we know the opponent, and the Brewers are heavily right handed (hitters and pitchers) and we heard only 13 pitchers, my final prediction on roster is:

    position players (15)
    Catcher: Smith, Barnes, Ruiz
Infielders: Muncy, Seager, Turner, Rios, Lux
    Outfielders: Pollock, Bellinger, Betts, Joc
    Utility: Enrique, Taylor, McKinstry

Notable people left off is really only Beaty and Gore

    pitchers:
    Kershaw, Gonsolin, Buehler, Urias, May
Jansen, Baez, Floro, Treinen, Graterol, McGee, Victor.... Kelly

more I look at it, the last pitching spot is between Kelly, Wood, white, Kolarek, Sborz, and Santana. I lean that they go with a righty cause the Brewers’ only have a few lefties, so having 3 left handed relievers is more than enough. And between Kelly, Sborz, White, and Santana, hard to see them going with one of those kids

I would personally prefer Kolarek, just to see if you can find a spot for him against Yelich or fat Vogelbach, but he’d be the 4th priority lefty to face a team with 4 lefty hitters, which feels pretty redundant

    i'd substitute kolarek for mcgee
    imo victor > mcgee
    kelly over santana and sborz

side note: is this roster just for the wild card series or longer?

From what I read the only 2020 rule change that will be shelved for the postseason will be the extra inning provision with the runner on second.

    Is that correct?

Correct. No man on second for the postseason.

I think you meant to have Lux listed as an infielder. I would actually bet against McKinstry for the final spot because we have 8 guys on the roster already who can play middle infield, so I think Beaty is a better fit as a corner infielder/outfielder. But I could also see them saying meh, let's just use the spot for a pitcher so we can carry Kolarek and Kelly. We never see the Dodgers with 15 position players, so it feels like every position player is on the roster.

beaty makes more sense to me, I’m just surprised they brought up McKinstry recently and not Beaty. Either one is good with me but I would actually prefer a player who does one thing really well. Who knows

Whoever it is probably has a <1% chance of playing. LOL now I’m thinking Gore.

    Terrance.

He actually was on the 2020 opening day roster. He logged one inning in the OF and was a pinch runner once this season, but hasn’t been on the roster for most of the year. So he’s easily forgettable.

He has spent most of his career in KC as a pinch runner, but got some meaningful time last year starting 13 games for the Royals. For the Dodgers he is 100% a pinch runner.

Finley loved that kind of shit. His first pinch runner deluxe was Allan Lewis, aka the Panamanian Express. Only batted 29 times in 6 yrs.

If you listen to the play by play, Vin almost called it before it happened.

Haha, I love that every time I see it. And there's something to be said about a speedster with no baseball instincts.

Gore is not that. Gore was a HS baseball standout, and while he's never panned out as an every day player, he has over 2000 AB's between the minors and majors. He's a real ballplayer, not just a track star.

i was actually at that game with my dad
only ws game i've ever attended
transistor radios blaring vinny’s play-by-play throughout the stadium
when marshall picked him off the place went absolutely nuts
still the loudest collective roar i’ve ever heard
    and still gives me goosebumps
