Lakers had slightly easier competition in their march to the title.

    PG: Shroder, Caruso, Cook
    SG: LeBron, KCP, THT
    SF: Kuzma, Matthews, McKinnie
    PF: Davis, Morris, Kostas
    C : Montrezl, Gasol, Cacok

Every player in the starting lineup can create his own shot or is a talented finisher off the double team/assist.
The second team is for lockdown defense and slowing it down punching it into the inside with the bigs.
Third team goes in and runs blitzkrieg with all those fast young powerful athletes during garbage time.

Eh Dodgers had nearly the same struggle that they have every postseason. Just with Mookie in tow this time to close things out at nut cutting time. Lakers made it look easy. Safe bet when 2 of the 5 players can turn it up and be the best 2 players in the world on both offense and defense - at nearly every position. When LBJ wanted to shut Murray down, he did..and he probably could've shut Jokic down too if needed

And of course, we're both old enough to remember people picking the Blazers and Rockets to beat the Lakers in the 1st couple rounds, so the competition wasn't really easy peasy until they smashed the competition and made it look that way. Probably won't get any easier either..PHX should be better, Dallas ditto, teams powering up in the east. God forbid Giannis goes to Miami or Dallas. Gonna be a tough go, but Pelinka/Paul prepared them this offseason

    NBA on ESPN@ESPNNBA
The Lakers will go 71 days between NBA games. The shortest offseason for any team in league history.

Gotta appreciate the 4 straight home games right out of the gate

Clips have been shopping Lou Williams and Beverley for weeks with no takers. Lol Wonder if they've gotten the same level of interest in Pandemic P?

.@KingJames says he's still gonna give his No. 23 jersey to AD after this season.

Bron was going to switch back to No. 6 last summer before Nike delayed the plan because it "could not accommodate the request," per @ChrisBHaynes pic.twitter.com/eGSQTFmXkt

    — Bleacher Report (@BleacherReport) December 5, 2020

Although LeBron James had intended the move to occur in time for the upcoming season, it appears that Nike–who is responsible for crafting the jerseys supplied to the league–was unable to produce the apparel in time for the start of the new campaign on December 22nd.

The revelation by LeBron contradicts earlier reports that Anthony Davis would forgo a switch in jersey numbers. Originally, Harrison Faigen of SB Nation indicated that AD would continue wearing the No. 3 jersey, to which he had grown attached. Not only was it the jersey number he wore in his first season with the Lakers, which ended with LA winning the NBA championship, but it was also his designation during his high school career.

:scratchchin:Guess that settles it....throwback, home, white and baby blue Caruso jersey for me.

Lakers play in a couple days. Lol Ready for a turbulent, COVID protocol fuckery filled season. Shit will more than likely hit the fan at some point, and more than once. At least they're 11 or 12 deep

Figure it out. Makes the repeat sweeter

And Pau wants back in...hard to see how it could really hurt but doubt he has anything left in the tank
Probably be best to use the spot on someone more athletic but wtf it's all drive and kick anyway

Pau would be a nice nostalgic pick up, but the game is so different now. We have one more roster spot open, and my guess is the FO is going to play out part of the season to see where we can shore up the team. Something tells me it’s not going to be an old Euro center. Pau can shoot and spread the floor, but can’t D anymore, and won’t be occupying sharp shooting 2’s and 3’s.

We will probably try to pick up a 3 and D guy to eat up some minutes.

He can hang out with Dudley on the bench and cheerlead like Javale used to.
If you put Pau in for 5 minutes he will hit a 3, get fouled and make a free throw or two because the refs will give him love, a nice assist, almost get a block, zero steals, key foul, a bad foul, and luck into a rebound or two.
HTH and McKinnie are the 3 and D guys they gonna throw in to try and hassle the other teams slasher.

    PG: Shroder, Caruso, Cook
    SG: LeBron, KCP, McKinnie
    SF: Kuzma, THT, Matthews
    PF: Davis, Gasol, Kostas
    C : Montrezl, Gasol, Cacok

Shroder or LeBron bring up the ball with 2 wings/finishers/shooters on the left and two on the right.
Second team has both Gasol brothers working their magic in all of the post with 3 defensive guards who can shoot and slash helping them run the halfcourt set.
And there is still Dudley and Morris on the team that I forgot about.
    Damn this team is deep.

Yeah I doubt Pelinka woke up today thinking - " damn I wish we could add a 40 yr old center who can't play any D and also won't dish out a hard foul "

Thankful for Pau's past contributions to the team, but unless they just need a new mantra after winning for Kobe, leave it. Pau had his time at the Night's Watch. His watch is ended

So Pelinka's targeting Ariza on the buyout market. Could trade a 2nd rd pick to create room for another sr vet min under the hard cap

Now this is a reunion that makes sense. Nets are probably the faves in the east and are pretty perimeter oriented. LAL could use Ariza
