not really because once I buy the domain i don't do anything with it and it gets recycled in a year or two.
when we left PSD and I had to come up with a domain name I think I got bit by the domain creation bug.
i have been somewhat obsessed with creating domains and the associated lore that comes with a brand.
when I feel restless I can sink into that for an hour and be able to focus on one specific thing with constraints.
It is good training because you have to remove things that you really really like if they don't go with the brand.
its just a hobby, a time killer. you can say im only shrewing around.

although the idea of selling dirt bags could work.
an old president of mexico used to sell chayotes from his garden at the presidential palace
he ran on a promise to end corruption
his buddies asked him about it since he was the most corrupt
but he said no more, from now on there would be no more corruption in the government
then one of his cronies asked him about his chayote plants
and the president reached out and pulled a vine close and waxed poetic about this particular chayote
its luster its size its vigor, etc...
the crony said wow such a great chayote you have
and the the president said great, im glad you like them as they are only 10 thousand american dollars each.
then he thanked the crony for his purchase.
before the crony even knew what hit him the other cronies got the gist and started asking about the chayotes too
so could all become customers of this new chayote art appreciation non profit society that was being formed to fully appreciate the humble mexicans cheap starchy staple vegetable the chayote.
like how europeans invented the trade and appreciation of fine art so they can launder money and hide taxes and revenue from the people who actually do pay taxes on their revenue and get shot to death when there is a hint that one of these priceless works of the great mind opera may be threatened by our barbarian goth vandal hyrulian bastard prodigal sons coming home from the wars used to steal more fine art from a different culture.

gold, oil, minerals and gems all have a shelf life in terms of the generation of wealth
the true arbitrary multiplication of wealth
    fine art is eternal
and there are always more wealthy in catacombs that need to be unearthed from their infernal tombs so they can share all that they have with their peers the noble undead who will wage war to sip from their holy cups.

The goths have lived in various places throughout history.
In each part of the world it is called a dark age when they arrive.
Folks don't put all the dark ages in history together.
If they would they would realize its the same people.
But names change even when faces dont.
And gothland is not where it started.
Its wherever the king of the goths resides.
And when he dies all the goths stop what they doing.
Then all go there to mourn and settle their differences.
    And pick a new king.
Because the devil is where hell is being raised.

Every single barbarian king that brings a horde to the big city ends up being a wayward bastard son of that city.
    Every single one.
In all the stories movies and histories.
Shit sometimes the barbarian leader is the son aka descendant of a great general or king of the civilized empire.

It's like they trying to say that barbarians aren't a foreign wild race that civilization one day bumped into in the cold north.
They are the losers of your own civilization.
The bastard son's that weren't wanted.
The politically despised which are sent to the fringe. Where f

    Where France got it's name.
    The fringes or society.
The helots will betray the spartans everytime because nobody likes to be put in the corner.
Rome was betrayed by their lower castes too.
Because they felt a kinship with the barbarians that was stronger even than culture.

A shared red blood of bastards not wanted by their kind and exposed to the cold of winter and the predators of the knight.
Those that survive only do by banding together into tightly knit social communities in the shadows of the empire.
Speaking in sing song bar bar words that the cultured deem deplorable noise.
    Like rock n roll.

Visited the Raleigh-Durham area a few years ago on business. Was amazed at the clean highways, the lack of graffiti and the politeness of the people.

    Good luck wherever you settle.

any other input on this area?
based on this post i spent the last hour looking up annual weather, real estate etc. and it looks like a good value
cheap nonstop from LA seeing as i'd still have to come back here occasionally
have to find out if they have restrictions on people from this part of the world before booking a flight to check it out

Good luck with the move, huh?. It’s always amazing looking at real estate outside of Southern California. I have friends from NC. Good people. They’ve talked about moving back, but haven’t pulled the trigger. They are the complete opposite of you on the political spectrum, FWIW. I’m conservative in their eyes.
