Once guys like Seager and belli hit free agency they’re gonna ask for way more than that

expect 30 million/year at the least

    • Bellinger also had to have surgery during the offseason to address the “loose shoulder” that caused the injury. And according to ESPN’s Buster Olney, Bellinger still has not been able to work on the swing that slowed him down last season.

Actually don't care, so long as he's in the weight room getting stronger. Gotta get bigger and stronger. Even if he has to move in with Fat Joc and hoard ice cream like a depressed fiend....studies have shown that he'll only have to go on a dairy free diet a few years from now

Dodgers have reportedly expressed interest in Marcus Semien as a potential 3B replacement for Turner amongst a number of other options. I think it’s inevitable that Turner returns, but it’s interesting at how many other avenues the team has supposedly explored.

I'm not a fan. He has had exactly one season where he was above starter level offensively. 2019 was such an outrageous outlier that it raises all sorts of questions as to why EVERY metric was so drastically higher. Oakland knows better than anyone and they seemed to sour on him last year.

So the Padres finally give up a good prospect and it is for fucking Joe Musgrove? What a world. I am worried that there is going to be another shoe that drops here cause this seems like a pretty big haul. The Padres gave up seemingly a ton for a guy that's best season consisted of 8 whole starts against pretty putrid competition and those numbers were heavily skewed by his last two outings. I'm still annoyed that the Padres continue to build out a really fucking good team, but it was about time that they finally had to pay for it.

I'm not so sure they gave up a lot to get him but I don't think Mustgrave is above average. I'm hoping all of this turnover changes the culture that they started building last year.

I'm more annoyed that all we can talk about this offseason is the the Pads. However, I'm okay with them blowing their load early while we get to have longer sex with sexier women.

San Diego reminds me of the geek in high school that gets their first taste of popularity only to have to constantly remind people that they are still alive.

    • Peter Gammons just tweeted that someone he talked to told him that the Dodgers are going to re-sign Justin Turner while also bringing in Marcus Semien. That would be a hell of an addition if he could go back to the way he was in 2019.
    • The Blue Jays and Kirby Yates have agreed to a deal.
    • The Blue Jays and George Springer are said to have had productive talks in recent days and may be inching towards a deal. Players are said to be very hesitant to sign with the Jays due questions on where the club will call home in 2021.
    • After floating some of their young controllable talent in trade talks. The Reds are rumored to now be telling teams that they are done with trade discussions this off-season and feel they have a club that is good enough to win the division. This would impact the Dodgers as they were rumored to be one of the teams in on Reds 3B Eugenio Suarez.
    • If you missed it, LHP Jon Lester has signed a one year deal with the Nats.
    • There is growing pessimism again that we are not going to have a full 162 game season. The union and owners are said to still be haggling over some issues, which is why only a couple of teams have set report dates for spring training.

Even better that Semien has been able to handle SS pretty damn well. Need cover for Seager in case injuries strike again. And Semien has an .812 career OPS VS LHP. Looks to be decent against 93-95 MPH, but anything above that and he's sapped....

....except for these career postseason numbers: 4 series, .371/.450/.571

Guy has a career 1.021 OPS in the postseason. Don't mind if we do. Hell, can he play OF and bump Pollock's bum ass?

Man, Semien is such a weird case. He has a couple of seasons where mixing in his production with our lineup would be solid, a number of other ones that would be not great and one if he could replicate, we would be saying "Mookie who?" Not really, but man if he could turn back into that 2019 guy and holding down 2B or 3B, that would be fan-fucking tastic. I have a feeling that our staff sees something they could fix and feel he could be had for a steal.
