30-40 dollar bourbon is under rated. You can find good bottles. Elijah Craig is pretty solid for the price. Makes a good old fashion and even drinks nice on the rocks. Basil Hayden is another. I keep these in the cabinet as staples.

Blood Oath is a little more than a daily drinker. The others are new to me. I’ll look em up.

Ive never had either. Pappys is way out of my league. My cabinet doesn’t hold such greatness and while I have friends with great taste, those bottles are few and far between. I’m an alcoholic so $2500 bottles are a regrettable hangover.

I keep solid daily drinkers at 30-60 and some good single malts but nothing more than a couple hundred dollars a bottle. I actually have a great family friend from Scotland who has turned me onto some whisky that you would swear was > $200 a bottle but retails at 50 or so dollars. He’s taught me to not get caught up in dollars and age.

    Whisky is so interesting

Nephew handled the sale of our old home about a year ago and after the deal closed he gave me a bottle of Hayden and the wife a bottle of Dom. I've really enjoyed the Hayden. Wife and daughters downed the Dom around the holidays. I can't stand champagne, even the so-called good stuff.

Went for my first vaccine yesterday...National Guard doing much of the work, and I gotta hand it to them, they look like they've got it down pat. Doing the best they can under shitty circumstances.
Anyway, was talking to a Spec 4 as it is now, and her name was Vasquez. So I said that's cool to be in the military with the same name as that badass Vazquez in 'Aliens '...she had no idea what or who I was talking about...not a clue.
Then, down the line a bit, I struck up a conversation with another kid...all of maybe 23/24. His rank ( now worn on the front of the tunic only), was three stripes up and three down, with a diamond in the middle. A first sgt. !
He directed me to my station, and I automatically said" thanks Top"...he asked me what I meant by that and I just mumbled something about the old army jargon.
I was thinking what this first shirt was just a kid, and remembered back to the ones I knew back in the day.
Grizzled hard ass guys with white hair crewcuts.
And that great line by Robin Williams in Good Morning Viet Nam, when he was getting chewed out by a sgt. who asked.him if he knew what the hell these stripes on his sleeve meant- three up and three down ?
    And he answers, " a quick inning ? "
Then went back to feeling old...

super violent winds this morning in Chatsworth
went outside around 4 to see what was happening on the property cause shit was loud
moon looked crazy and trees whipping like crazy and my thought was to move my Tundra parked out back
made my way back to my house to get the keys and heard a giant ripping sound and thought the roof had been torn off my garage
turns out my loyal pick up was crunched by a giant piece of ash tree
given 45 seconds i would have been standing next to the drivers door and would almost certainly have been injured at the very least
    timing is everything my friends
wish i could post a picture here

    Woah!
If there's any consolation about your frozen tundra is that the ash tree is one hell of a tree.
So much so that Ascandian pantheon is named after it. The Aces guard the ash tree at Asgard from the winds of evil by their life force represented by atmospheric lightning.
Maybe your tundra is gonna have babies.
Because when the Aces arrive so do the Divas. And they come together.
    To raise some horse power.
Because everyone starts off on 4 wheels.

thanks guys we dug it out and while its suffered damages it could be worse
lost my tool box, front windshield, rear window and bad damage to the passenger rear door but missed everything else on that side that i can see
drivers side roof and front fender are going to need work and hood should be salvageable
all in all not too bad for a couple of tons of tree and i was planning on giving the old gray mare a paint job this year anyway
won't be parking near trees soon if i can avoid it

surprisingly v8 tundra in 02 w 130k holds its value pretty well
and i will always own a truck so vs new its really no choice especially since i rarely drive it and mechanically it been nothing but solid
99-02 were very good years for toyota/lexus
only recently upgraded my 00 gs300 and i would have driven that to NYC
still see it almost everyday and the guy i sold it to is destroying it
    breaks my heart

i'll have to look into that
thinking i'm going to go w a wrap and so far the gloss red black iridescent is looking very cool
probably a bit flashy for an old tundra but fuck it lol
if anyone knows someone in the biz i'd like to talk to them after i finish the body work
